Not very new hotel but fine and everything works. Good breakfast. Very nice bar with good Coffee and excellent staff that serve snacks and light food, smiling and advising you to choose the right drinks.
Great location for touristing in Buenos Aires; for walking, public transportation, taxi service. Helpful front desk-kept our extra luggage while in Uruguay 3 days. Good breakfast - needs real orange juice, and better quality and made coffee.
We stayed at the hotel because our regular choice was undrgoing improvements. The facilities were no better than our preferred choice (we known it for years) and it's nearly twice the price. We are aware that the hotel will be undergoing some work to upgrade facilities
Once upon a time this may have been a nice hotel, back in 1950's, but having little input to where to stay as this hotel was part of an WEBJET Exclusive EXPERIENCE, to cut costs and make the highest profit, this hotel was selected by Webjet Exclusive, all I can believe it was selected was due to it been cheap. The Webjet package promoted 4 star hotels in their flyers, you can not always believe what you read. This hotel struggled to make 1 star, to start with we had to park our transport bus a block away and drag our luggage to the hotel, as the streets are so narrow buses are not allowed to stop, staff were supportive but the rooms were very poor quality, walls were broken, electrical fittings hanging out of holes in the walls, tiles lifted and grout missing from tiles, sink cracked, bathroom tiles cracked, mould in bathrooms, window locking device totally broken off to the outside...The supplied breakfast that was part of the Webjet Exclusive promotion was food but quality was very poor and little supplied some breakfast cereal, juice, tea and American coffee...yuck, and a couple sticky bun's... type rolls you could select, not the standard quality full breakfast more of a poor quality continental breakfast...certainly an EXPERIENCE.
This is a good property by location and front of house but rooms leave a lot to be desired. Stayed here as part of a tour group in 2 different rooms but both were essentially the same. Room 707 and 709 were comfortable and certainly worth the price being advertised but had some short-comings. Seriously cracked floor tiles in bathrooms and loose toilet seat in both, bathroom doors needing paint and very old-fashioned shower curtains over a step-in bath tub. No view from either room except the bedroom in the building next door; safe in the room is the old-fashioned type where you go to reception to get the key and lock and there was possible only 1 English speaking TV channel. Breakfast supplied for the group was adequate. Bar and restaurant service were very good; good food, drinks and service. Check-in for a large group was very prompt and assistance and maps from the reception staff was very good. One other problem with the hotel, especially for anyone with mobility issues, is that bused don't drop off at the front of the hotel but rather 2 blocks away on the main road so that guests must wheel or carry baggage over some very ordinary footpaths. Both my stays were on weekends and foot traffic was quiet. Positives: great central location, great BBQ/meat restaurant across the road.
We stayed here as a part of a Webjet tour and note that I normally don't criticise on TA. The foyer looked promising but the room let that impression way down. Ok the room was clean and the bed comfy but there were lots of little issues. The toilet seat was so loose that it swivelled on contact and the toilet door so swollen from moisture that it couldn't shut. The walls were way overdue for paint and the vinyl floors were peeling. I'm thinking Webjet don't inspect the hotels they use. Really this is a 2 1/2 star hotel
This is a convenient place to stay. Walking distance to downtown. Friendly staff. Our tour group arrived at 9am and we were given our rooms straight away. Breakfast was still available. The front rooms are noisy from people and traffic in the street. You will also hear plumbing and yelling from adjacent rooms, so take your earplugs.
We stayed there both before &I after our cruise - it was booked by Webjet as part of our package, not by us. Our 1st. room was 911 and it was almost a case of calling for help when we saw the state of the room. I have taken photos of a large rip in the flooring, holes in the curtains, peeling wallpaper below the sliding doors, black mould, broken cabinet door hinge and exposed wiring. On our return, we stayed in 711 which was certainly an improvement, but still had maintenance issues. - the toilet seat was loose because of a broken hinge and the grab rail over the bath was coming out of the wall. The only reason we haven't rated it lower was that the front office staff were pleasant and efficient and the beds were quite comfortable. In summary, it was the antithesis of a palace!
We were in a tour group and stayed here twice one night each time. The hotel is well located and clean. Hotel staff don't speak much English and are reasonably friendly. Hotel was clean. Breakfast had a good variety and was good.
This is rated as 4 stars. However, it is a very tired hotel. Having said that it is very clean and the room is large. Breakfast was included and there was a good selection of food. The bed was comfortable and was a king size. The pillows as firm and allowed for a good sleep. The air con was noisy but the windows were able to be open. The down side of that was that the street noisy was loud.
