Stayed here in 2017 febuary. These are my comment: + in a 5 star hotel there should be bathrobes and slippers +no service at the pool + was incl breakfast but you had to pay extra for an omelet (98 ARS) + No vanities + You had to order coffee (was not in the room) + Nice yard in front of the room - but dirty). They could have made it nive with just a few plants and bences +No WIFI in the room (REALLY ?? - IN A 5 STAR) + very nice location + has been 5 star - but not now + had to sign breakfast every morning even though it was included on room nr. +No variation in breakfast. Han and cheese EVERY DAY. Same hot meal. Not a lot of different things. Not really worth the money. And by the way the staff was not really kind...most of all arrogant

The best thing was the size of the "Diplomatic suite", one of their largest. The staff was very slow. All of them. From room service to house keeping, all very slow! I asked several times to fill up the minibar as such was empty upon our arrival. They never filled it till we departed. And some of the receptionists was very inpolite, probably he thought he had to work too much. And the breakfast buffet was very strange kind of standard too. Some food items on display would only be available to you upon extra charge, such as the fried eggs, i beleive it was. As I said the only good thing was the size of the room.

This is real nice historic hotel in the center of town, with great amenities, a very helpful staff, and nice rooms. Many of the must see sites are within walking distance, or just a short cab ride away. Great shops and restaurants nearby, including those on Calle Florida.

Its an old hotel well maintene and beautiful arquitecture, the location its fine and accesible. The fine dine restaurant its outstanding with great food and service, it’s the ideal location to have a sence of old buenos aires. All the staff its friendly and always willing to help.

This an old landmark hotel in Buenos Aires. Love the architecture of the building. It is centrally located and within walking distance to Calle Florida, a shopping street. The rooms are traditional, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good.

We stayed one night at the Plaza and were enchanted by the décor, cleanliness, and polite helpful staff dressed in formal attire. Our room was quiet, with a view of the nearby San Martin Park. We strolled along Florida Avenue, a pedestrian mall, where we found shops and restaurants that served local Argentinian fare. We booked directly with the hotel and were pleased with the attitude and service provided by the front desk staff, who arranged transport for us to the nearby cruise terminal. As a couple of seniors, we felt perfectly safe in this quiet hotel and exploring the immediate neighborhood on foot.

My husband and I stayed at the Plaza Hotel before and after our trip to Antarctica. The hotel is in a fantastic location. It is central and close to the Calle Florida shopping area. There is also a great selection of restaurants in the area. Our hotel room was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. My only criticism is that there seemed to be a lot of charges for items and services that are often included in other hotels. For example, our package included a full breakfast. However, if you wanted eggs or an omelette this was additional. This is not my understanding of a full breakfast. Also, our room had a coffee percolator (it has been a long time since I used one of these machines). If you wanted coffee for the machine you had to order it and pay extra. It would have been good to have a kettle in the room and some instant coffee would have sufficed. We also had to pay for Wifi in our room. In the first room we stayed in the wifi was fast but it was very, very slow in the room that we stayed in our second visit. Nonetheless, we certainly enjoyed our stay and had a good time in Buenos Aires.

We loved staying at the Plaza Hotel (plazahotelba.com) on our recent visit. Not only is it conveniently located right near the Calle Florida shopping area but it's on Plaza San Martin, where it's easy to get a cab to anyplace in the city. It is in the prime Retiro district. We didn't try the bus system but we saw them going by so they would be easy to use too. The hotel is a classic and well maintained, older hotel with lots of mahogany and brass. It reminded me a lot of the Biltmore in Downtown Los Angeles, CA. There's a fantastic bar and restaurant in the lower level. But don't try to eat before 7 PM - and even at that time you'll be the only ones there. They tend to eat later than we do in the US. We chose a junior suite because it came with free wi-fi and late check out. It cost about $730 USD for 6 nights. It had a huge bedroom and bath with a nice sitting room with sofa, chair, desk and tv. There was also a mini-fridge and coffee maker. The staff was always ready and very helpful. In the room there was an interesting book all about the long history of the hotel - how it was built and what famous people had stayed there over the years. We were there before we boarded a cruise around South America and while the hotel was near the dock - it was not the dock where our ship was located. But the cabs are convenient and relatively inexpensive. I'd love to return to Buenos Aires someday and will definitely stay at the Plaza Hotel again.

We enjoyed 5 nights here and found it convenient and it provided all we needed for a comfortable stay. The room was in need of an update but clean, spacious and with plenty of storage for clothes. The buffet breakfast was great with plenty to choose from to suit all tastes. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is good, within walking distance of good cafes and Galeries Pacifico. The pool and terrace was a great spot to relax after a day out and the gym was great for some extra exercise.

Stayed for 3 nights in April before joining our cruise. The location is excellent by Plaza San Martin where public events take place and coincidentally there was a St Patrick's day celebration which involved a re-enactment of the independence from Spain! It is only a short walk from the Madero development which is attractive with lots of cafes & restaurants. It is also close to the cruise liner terminal The Hotel used to be part of the Marriott chain and is classic Art Deco - the building is listed and the main dining room and cocktail bar are beautiful examples. However service is patchy and the breakfast is both average and very expensive. If your package excludes breakfast then there are alternatives nearby eg Florida Garden. Nevertheless we did enjoy our stay despite these niggles.
