The room rate we paid was $64 for bed and breakfast, and for a room in this location was excellent. We had been travelling for 22 hours before arriving at the hotel at 12 pm. We had requested an early check in when we booked, but we could not have a room until precisely 3pm. We found this very disappointing. The room we were allocated was tiny. A desk in a corner of the room was you hung the corner of the bed and I had to squeeze my legs to get through. The way the screen has been put on the bath is very dangerous because it opens into the bath only, so it is very difficult to close when you have climbed into the bath. The hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was adequate for us, but there was no hot food which may disappoint some people. The location is excellent with plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants in the vicinity. We only stayed one night, and for the price we paid it was fine, but we would not have wanted to spend more than one night there.
We just spent 3 nights at this Hotel. We were fortunate to have access to our room before the posted check-in time, so we were able to freshen up after a long flight from Canada and head out to explore. The front desk staff had a couple of great suggestions for eating close by and places to visit within a short walk. When we needed a telephone confirmation for our Tango Tour, the staff was more than accommodating in making the call for us...so appreciated ! The Breakfast is more than adequate with bread, pastries, cheese, meat, cereal and yogurt. The Hotel is well situated to different s sights. The only reason we didn’t give a 5 star rating is the room was starting to look a little tired. Having said that we stay here again and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a smaller, boutique still Hotel.
My first impression getting into the room [# 202 ?] was really bad. The room was tiny. Could not move around. Could not put two suitcases down anywhere. And no view . Opening to an enclosed space. Complained to the staff. Got it changed to a bigger room [ # 107] with an extra charge of US $ 27 per night . Stayed there three nights. Was worth it compared to the jail cell they provided me at first. The bathroom was big. They provided healthy breakfast. But no eggs. The main road [about 20 lanes] was visible from the window . You could see the busy street life from here. The metro station a few feet away. The main streets, banks and eateries were nearby. Teatro Colon was within the walking distance. The staff - Sophia, Juan Cruz, Rodrigo,, Christina, Stephania, Miraglos and others- were extra helpful. The hotel needs a little upgrading. The moment the elevator door opens to the first floor you are surrounded by a musty smell. Water toilet knobs need to be replaced. The moment you take your hands off the operating knob , it jumps out and falls on the floor.
I arrived early in the morning and it was no problem to check in. Stuff is very helpful. Room & bath was big, clean and comfortable. Great view to the Obelisk and straight across to the historic center. Lot of restaurants, shops & bars nearby.
Really nice located hotel, very central, comfortable beds and friendly staff. Wifi connection in the room was very bad and breakfast was very basic, but it's really great value for money. I would highly recommend this hotel!
One star for extremely bad attitude of stuff, otherwise could have been two at best. Very small room, very basic. Front desk stuff is ridiculously unaccommodating, made us wait exactly till check in time. We arrived in morning after long flight and requested early check in. We kept checking after every couple of hours and every time she would just say it's not ready. Never saw her picking up the phone and trying to expedite. At that moment I wished I hadn't booked this hotel. When finally checked in at 3 pm, our room wasn't even ready and was strewn with cleaning supplies, tools etc. Couldn't be any more ridiculous than this. No apologies, stuff are idiots but with attitudes. Breakfast is very poor, no eggs, less than basic, a small crowded room with one waiter serving 50 people. Items ran out frequently and had to wait for ever. It was a mess. Nothing pleasant about this old building with no facilities and a hotel run by bunch of unprofessional idiots. Only plus point is location what I fell for when booking. Do not even think of going there. Total waste of money. There are many good quality hotels like NH etc around obelisk at similar price.
This hotel's location is excellent, right at the center of things, we could see the Buenos Aires obelisk from our room. Staff was helpful and friendly, although they couldn't give us the room before the appointed 3 PM check-in time. Rooms were very tastefully furnished, even luxuriously, bathroom was spacious, clean and modern. Wifi was good. Our package didn't include breakfast so we can't judge. But there are so many cafes and pastry shops around that there really is no need for that. Despite the double-pane windows, some muffled traffic noise still makes its way in, this being a very centric location. Due probably to security reasons, the hotel glass doors at street level are locked, and the employee at the reception desk needs to open them with the press of a button, even when going out. A bit annoying but I guess cheaper than having a security guard at the door.
A very well located hotel within the core of Buenos Aires with reasonable rooms a nice lobby very good attention and Starbucks next door. My favourite choice for a overnight, location is superb and attention too.
Friendly staff, clean and well located. But this is about it. This hotel does not offer anything else. I got assigned a very dark room basically without window or sunlight. The wifi reception in the room is poor at best. The staff was uncooperative to my request of getting a better accommodation. The buffet in the morning is poor to my standards. No warm food (no eggs, no nothing. Argentinian style breakfast), only filtered coffee, a poor selection of industrial cheese and ham, and 4 types of industrial pastry and white bread. Not even a bit of ambient music in the dining room. I'm pretty sure you can find better value for your money.
Great location! Amazing view from the balcony, in front of the Obelisco with easy access to everywhere, you can easily walk to Recoleta, Puerto Madero and several atractions and monuments. It is safe to walk, lots of police around. Several options of restaurantes and bars. It's just in the city centre. Friendly and helpful staff! The rooms are clean with comfortable beds, cable TV, Wi-Fi included and a large bathroom with great shower. The breakfast is average, definitely worth it. I totally recomend the Park Silver Obelisco Hotel in Buenos Aires.
