Had a bad experience. Staff not as friendly. I booked 4rooms which were prepaid. For card authorization for extra charges the hotel charge again $3000 which was the cost of the hole stay, at check out it took time to realize the room was paid for . after check out got call out for unpaid room while rooms were prepaid. On the 8th floor a noise like a laundry machine all night .terrible experience
What a lovely experience at the Palacio Duhau. Everything from the amenitiies, to the food to the staff is first rate. The Oak Bar is wonderful for pre/post dinner cocktails. The spa is wonderful, too.
My daughter booked our room, and I was expecting a typical Hyatt hotel, I was wrong. This hotel is something special!! Everything about it is elegant and the staff treated us as if we were the most important guests that they had, It was a pleasure to stay in such a wonderful hotel. Should we ever find ourselves back in Buenos Aires, I know where we are staying.
From check-in to check-out, the staff at the Park Hyatt saw to our every need. The staff was always willing to step up and assist with whatever was asked of them. Wonderful location. Close to some great restaurants and shopping.
We recently stayed at the Palacio Duhau - Park Hyatt in Buenos Aires for 11 nights, and had an excellent experience from the moment that we arrived at the hotel. The hotel itself overlooks a beautiful garden area, and the location of the hotel (in Recoleta) is very convenient in terms of access to other parts of the city. We used American Express Platinum and were upgraded to a Suite overlooking the palace grounds - we absolutely loved the room! The staff was also incredibly attentive, warm and went above and beyond with any of our requests. It is one thing to engage with a hotel staff that behave "politely", but quite another to see a high-performing team that really enjoys their work and ensures that guests are taken care of during their stays. I want to commend Andrea, Ambrosio and Facundo in particular, as they really ensured that our stay was a memorable one. We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and family, and hope to return again in the near future!
We stayed 4 nights at the Park Hyatt Buenos Aires. Pros: -It is in an absolutely beautiful location in easy walking distance to most things in the Recoleta neighborhood. -The room was pristine and the bathroom was huge! -The cleaning service was spot on; it felt like every time we left and came back our room was tidied (morning and evening turn down service). Cons: - Turning the lights on and off in the room was maddening. The switches weren't labeled so we just had to push all of them several times until hopefully the lights turned off. -Not a strong "welcome" feeling from the staff. In fact it felt like we were putting the staff out every time we asked a question. -They were quite stingy with the shampoo and soaps. It wasn't until I was literally out of soap would they give me more. For what you're paying, the room really didn't impress me that much.
The perfect location in the Recoleta. Close enough but calm enough. Comfortable, nice, elegant but not stuffy at all. Our room was on the smaller side, but we used points so we weren't surprised. But in no way were we disappointed. In fact just the opposite, this was a very nice stay. Kudos to the Concierge team for all of their extra arrangements for us.
Stayed here for 6 nights recently and enjoyed it. The staff were all very friendly and helpful at all times, from check in, to breakfast, to around the hotel grounds. Received an upgraded suite after using a Diamond suite upgrade, which was a nice touch. The hotel itself is a short to medium walk from most of the nicer areas and sights in BA, or a short taxi ride. We took taxis everywhere and at $4-6 USD each time, you could not beat it. The breakfast was very good, which as a Diamond member, included basically whatever we wanted. We had the buffet, which was a small cold item buffet with fruits, yogurts, pastries, cold cuts, etc every morning, plus a medium sized menu of hot made to order items. The quality was very good of the food we enjoyed, as we usually ordered a hot item plus some buffet items every morning. My wife said the poached eggs were some of the best she had ever had. Service again, was always friendly, if a tad slow at times. I really enjoyed that there was no limit or anything on what we could order, as we just checked in every morning and got our room and name marked off, and then had breakfast. No check to sign, or apparent limits, just enjoy what you want. That is PRECISELY what the Diamond breakfast amenity should be, and that shows true appreciation of loyal customers by the hotel. A small thing for them, but sometimes those are the biggest gestures for customers. Most of the best hotels I shave stayed at share similar things. Overall the room was fine. It was a large suite and the bed was comfortable, although a little hard, but I still found that I slept very well on it. The only thing I could fault was the bathroom products. Frankly we did not care for the shampoo, conditioner, or soaps. They did not seem high quality, and we did not care for the scent. Another odd thing was the fact that the soaps were all unwrapped and placed on holders in the bathroom, which was odd. I suppose it reduces people from loading up on toiletries to take home? At any rate, that is a minor quibble. Overall, it was a great stay and a great hotel in a great location. I say 4.5 because it did not blow me away like some Park Hyatts have in the past, but I really could not fault in any measurable respect, so it gets the 5* rating. I would definitely stay again if I am in BA.
Services at the restaurant were very poor. It seems they are understaffed. The food is very good. Breakfast is awesome. The bar is outstanding. The garden is very nice and the original Palacio is beautiful. Gym is great.
To declare my biases, I like Park Hyatts. They are a 5 star luxury hotel, with under stated elegance. Each one unique and special. This property renovated a beautiful old palace in the nicest neighborhood and added a separate modern tower. With a stunning courtyard between the two towers. I chose to have my breakfast outside with this stunning view. I must admit the breakfast buffet, however, did not overwhelm me. It lacked the over abundance of local products and options I come to expect from five star hotels. The room was modern with a separate changing area, bathtubs with bath salts, and local bath amenities. I would especially recommend the spa package which included a massage and light lunch for less than just a massage. The staff was especially accommodating. I was especially grateful to the hotel staff for finding me a room before normal check in and allowed a late check out as well. Thank u! I travel often to BSAS and consider this hotel the best option if money is not an issue
