I was overall disappointed with my stay at the Novotel Buenos Aires. At check in was advised my room was not ready and to wait 15 mins, an hour later still waiting as the front desk had forgotton to inform me the room was ready. Room itself was nice and modern with plenty of lighting options and quiet despite being on one of BA's busiest streets. No English language channels on TV despite being an international chain. Bed was not king size as advertised but simply 2 King singles pushed together, which meant you could easily fall on the floor. Despite booking room for another night due to late flight, room was not serviced & front desk called to ask why I hadn't checked out. They offered a free room service meal to say sorry but the damage was done. I found the front desk did not have enough manpower at times and the staff were not always friendly or helpful. My advice is to pay 3 times less the cost and stay at the much better Ibis next door.
From a hotel of this caracter you expect the best. The overall service was poor. So were cleanliness of my hotel room as well as the pool area. Decided to move to another hotel. Location close to the obelisk.
It's very convenient location. Quiet and clean. Meals average nothing I would write home about. Evening entertainment is very pleasant and dining on the poolside is enjoyable. Unfortunately no access to any English newspapers or Television. English channels blocked. Found it difficult not being able to access early morning news. Thank goodness for the Internet so was able to get news of the world.
noise insulation is not good if your room is facing the avenue. the food of the breakfast is not hot ( scrambled eggs, sausages..)mainly if you arrived after 9 o'clock. desk employees very helpful and give you a lot of information on B.Aires
Not a hotel for tourists! We stayed 11 nights in a room on the 6th floor, with city view, for touristic reasons. Breakfast was included. Room: the view was disappointing, no view but old dirty blocks on the opposite side of the road.Th room itself was ok, with all the amenities (like hair blower, fridge, cooker etc.)needed. The hygiene was ok, in the room and elsewhere in the hotel. The pool was (to) cold and not clean. It didn't look attractive at all, since there was a lot of dust and leaves in the water. The place to sunbath was to public and had an open and cold atmosphere. Location was in the centre, but downtown here is, something else as downtown in Europe. In Europe it is the best place, here it is mostly poverty and dirt. There were however some restaurants and pubs in the neighborhood for lunch or dinner. Subway just around the corner, taxi's everywhere. Breakfast buffet was good, nice coffee, lots of fresh fruit, many choices in bread and sandwiches.Lots of Spanish newspapers, not one in English. No touristic information whatsoever. We were told that the policy of Accor hotels is not to spread the information, only by asking you get some info about the topic you specifically ask for. Not very touristic friendly. In rush hours you wait for the elevator a (to) long time. Only Spanish channels on tv, not one in English.Problems with (the free) wifi. The staff is friendly, polite, and helpful.
The hotel is very good and the property is close downtown and touristic areas. Therefore the service and attendants were pleased to help, the breakfast was poor and was expensive to be offered for this class of hotel.
We took our miniature doxie with us. And everyone made him feel special :) you wont ever guess this nice hotel allows pets. It is very clean . We loved the shower , and the view from our room. Everything was nice. Perfect location. We stayed only two nights but we be back for sure!
Stayed here for 5 nights in a room on the 9th floor that looked out onto busy Avenue Corrientes. The location is very central to the theatre district, a 10 minute walk to Teatro Colon, a 20/25 minute walk to Plaza Mayo and the pink Palace and about a 25/30 minute walk in the other direction to Recoleta. The room was very modern and well appointed. There was a queen-sized bed (comfort only fair as sliding into the middle of it), bed-side tables each side of the bed with excellent lighting, a lounge/settee, a free standing lamp, a desk and a desk chair and a large wardrobe with a safe in it. A large TV was mounted on the wall and the WIFI was free and worked very well. There was a plethora of power points that took any number of different types of plugs. Of note was the bathroom. The hand basin was in a walk-in area with the toilet (with its own door) on one side and the large shower (no bath) on the other (bedroom) side. There was a clear screen between the shower and the bed so you could look at people in the shower, but there was also a privacy curtain which could be pulled down. It did though have the benefit of letting natural light into the shower area. The shower itself was a rainwater type and the pressure was good although you needed a safe cracker’s touch to adjust the hot water so that you didn’t get scolded. The room and bathroom were very clean. Unfortunately one of the downsides was the noise (car horns, police and ambulance sirens) from the busy street below that still filtered up to the 9th floor even though there was double glazing on the windows. The view over the top of the buildings opposite was nothing to write home about. Breakfast was a hot and cold buffet which was not that extensive. On our first morning we asked for a boiled egg and was told that it would take 30 minutes. When I queried this the young waitress went out to the kitchen and came back to confirm the 30 minutes. I said that I couldn’t believe this and would have to mention it to management. Her response floored me as she said that we could have an omelette and that would only take 5 to 10 minutes. We ordered the omelette and it arrived together with 2 boiled eggs within 10 minutes. Unfortunately for the next couple of days, irrespective of the time, when we gave our room number they immediately brought out 2 boiled eggs. We were appreciative of this effort but by the rubberiness of the eggs it was clear they had been pre-cooked some time earlier, not freshly cooked. Staff on reception were friendly but there was often only one of them. At check-in we waited just on 10 minutes to be attended to. Check-out was better.
Very modern rooms with a very comfortable bed and very good breakfast. Internet access was fast. Great location in the middle of the entertainment district, subway stations a couple of blocks away. Good for business and leisure.
The hotel is located in the center of theaters and night life of Buenos Aires. Close to the famous Colon Hotel, the Obelisc and the 9 july avenue. The handiccaped room is well adaped and the whole instalation is accessible. I would skip the regular breakfast and try the nice neighbours cafes.
