Great location. The cleanliness could be improved both in the public areas, stairs, and the rooms. The room I had was not overlooking the street, however, it was very noisy in the evening, probably due to the concentration of air conditioner s on the other side of the window. The window opened onto a 3 x 8 foot space occupied solely by ACs. Staff were very friendly and willing to help with transportation and transit info.

HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT

When it rained the hall leaked and made it slippery. Construction being done upstairs. mold in showers and infested with black flies in bathroom that bite. cable not stable and power in the building. Over all I can deal with alot and I come to BA alot and this is the first time I had to say something, I usually do not and this time, was a deception...HORRIBLE the cleaning staff were amazing and the morning staff male staff members were amazing. Get morning support staff at night so they can get breaks and go to the bathroom or give them a remote to buzz the door open..

The hotel is very well located, in the theatre district, with restaurants all around. Only 2 blocks to the metro station Uruguay, half a block to Corrientes.

Value for money with challenges

The Milan Hotel is in a good location for central Buenos Aires - you can walk to most places, even though BA is a huge city and distances are far; the hotel is near a Metro stop - the metro is grotty but cheap. The room in this hotel was satisfactory; it had a patio, but the soot from the 4 kitchen chimney outlets covered the patio furniture, which had to be cleaned off before using, but worse still, the greasy smell from the chimneys came into the room at all times and was nauseating. The breakfasts were satisfactory but the same every day. The staff was friendly and helpful. Front rooms would be noisy. The elevator is very antiquated and small; it constantly has problems with the door closing, which sets off an alarm that can be heard in the rooms at all hours. Overall the hotel scores on location and excellent value for money, in spite of the particular disadvantages mentioned above.

Recommend to couples, business, and small families

Great experience, overall. Pros: comfortable room; clean; great location; secure; adequate breakfast, with spacious dining area; outlet accommodating both plug types C and B. Cons: Tiny shower; unusual elevator; lots of noise; possible lack of communication. For the cons, the noise was largely from the elevator (which has a warning alarm when it's not closed properly, due to its weird door system) and what seemed like constant housekeeping (a mild complaint, as I did like the hotel's cleanliness). The one time I needed to talk to a concierge, he didn't speak English, so that may be an issue. The shower is the biggest detriment. It is incredibly small and, thus, hard to maneuver in. The large, billowy shower curtain eats up some of that space as well. Needless to say, showers were a bit uncomfortable. It is certainly not a shower/bath combo as advertised on this site. In that regard, despite the picture, there also is not a kitchen in the room. The hotel has many positives. It is near many attractions (like Obelisco) and bus stops for the tourist. It is also near multiple local restaurants--a good one right next, for example, or the ice cream place across the street. The hotel is clean and well kept. The front door is securely controlled by the concierge, and the outside door within the room also locks. The room itself was very well maintained, and the housekeeper took great care with anything left strewn about. Despite the elevator and the shower, it was a great stay!
