i evaluations put us on the wrong track. At arrival I asked kindly for a room at a quiet part of the hotel. The receptionist said he would consider my request. We ended up opposite the elevator, with constand noise of the bells of arriving elevators, guests coming home late and talking loudly for hours, street side room noisy and diesel fumes. We touched the hair dryer it came done and broke a glass, hair in the bath, bath with fungus (see photos), shower head corrogated, fungus in corner of bathroom, insects, electricity points badly fixed, painting (NICE) in a frame that apparaently earlier came done several times, poor breakfast. The only good thing was the central location. But next time I would not mind to be a few metro stops away. This hotel is two stars at most.
We paid £50 for bed and breakfast. The room was basic but had a good sized bathroom with shower and air conditioning. The location about 150 yards from the Obelisk was perfect for exploring Buenos Aries and always easy to get back to! Directly across the road from the hotel there is a Starbucks and to the left an underground station and a very short walk to the right is Hop On Hop Off Bus office, where you can pay with US dollars. The HOHO is a must. The tour which lasts over 3 hours takes you round most of the city and it is great at the end of the tour to be taken almost back to your hotel. Whist the HR Luxor is a no frills hotel, I would recommend it if you only want a base and overnight accommodation in a relatively safe area of Buenos Aries.
Had to stay 10 days here and basically no internet. Too slow to work or watch a Netflix movie. They made me change rooms 2 times and breakfast is poor; lemonade instead of orange juice, poor cofee. Location is great though.
In a city the size of Buenos Aires, convenience counts for a lot. This location is ideal for tourists. We stayed 5 nights in all and were very happy. The subway station is a few steps away. The hop-on hop-off bus starting point is less than a block away. You can walk to the Colon Theatre, Ave 9 de Julio etc etc. This saves time and money as a tourist as it is so easy to get around. The room was quite small but clean and the bathroom modern for an inner city hotel. It was very good value for money. The reception staff on different shifts were all friendly and helpful in English which was much appreciated. The reception area is small and very busy most of the time. They do offer transfers at pesos 350 to the Aeroparque Jorge Newberry but not a collection service. The metered taxi fares for the same trip varied between 180 pesos to 400 pesos depending on the driver !! Breakfast was standard for Argentina and fresh fruit is somewhat limited. Emphasis is on sweet confectionery items and the croissants were good. Basic scrambled egg available as we found at most places in the 4 star hotel category. There are small kiosks / mini-mart/ chemist all in the same road selling most essentials you may need including cheaper bottled water! I would recommend this hotel if you are on a budget and want convenience. It is a 5 minute subway ride to Retiro station. However there are no escalators in and out of the subway station. It was lovely after our trip to Patagonia to return again and be welcomed back.
we were two days in Buenos aires, and we slept there, it,s in the middle of the city, a lot of things are in walking distance, in the same street is the hop on hop off bus, in the surrounding there are a lot of restaraunts and bars
Location and personal excellent. Buffet-breakfast average (meals and drinks nothing special). Space to small for so many hotel guests. Rooms old, high time to be renewed. Elevators small and hotel corridors very poor illuminate.
In this hotel you have all the interesting places near t you in the downtown, Obelisco, Casa Rosada, Puerto Madero all the interesting places , the personal are very Kind, Is a place to sleep , You have markets and a lot of stores and teathers !!
We had a business meeting, with accommodations at this hotel. Good basic amenities, same caliber as best western. More for tourists looking for 3 star. Amenities, room space, TV and breakfast were adequate. It was a perfect spring day, so i opened the windows for fresh air. Air conditioning remote did not work, so i just kept the window open. Lots of street noise below.
In my point of view it's the best location between obelisco and rose house very near to "Calle Florida". The room it's not bad, the size it's ok, the bed it's ok, the problem is in the bathroom, maintenance it's not updated, small place to take shower. Reasonable cost benefit, but far for be the best one.
More like almost a 3 star hotel. The positives: the location is in the center of the city (safe in the day but not late at night). The price is very good. The rooms are small but clean. Negatives: the bed was uncomfortable, the hallways are dark and dirty, and breakfast was the same daily, and just ok. Paul at the reception desk is friendly and speaks English, the others not as much.
