I cannot describe to you how run down this hotel is. My room had no hot water, the air conditioner was malfunctioning and sounded like a jet engine, three lights were not working, the window catch was broken, and so was the main door handle. I waited for 3 hours for either the maintenance person or the hotel manager to arrive at work. The coffee is undrinkable and their espresso machine 'is broken'. The 'fitness' room smells so toxic that I was unable to use it. Seriously, someone needs to update this place. I feel sorry for the staff, who have to endure constant complaints from the guests. Just don't stay here, you would do better at a 2 star establishment.
Perfect place for budget conscious travellers. It has all you need but the place is dated, a tad worn here and there and is need of some major plumbing work. The rooms were spacious, the bathrooms were outdated with faulty faucets and plumbing. Breakfast is just ok. There is enough food to eat but not much variety. The front office staff are angels. There were so very helpful. The pool area area is a turn off. If they got their 4th star based on it, I think they should be listed as a 3 star (at best). Just one block away from the Gallleria Paciifco and just behind the pedestrian street 'La Florida'
The hotel is in a great location and has excellent staff. Rooms were a nice size and the bathroom included a bathtub/shower. I stayed here twice; the air conditioner during my first room did not work well but was fine during the second stay. The biggest issue is their breakfast. On my first stay, the fruit was past the end of its life, the cheese was starting to curl and the bread & pastries were hard and stale. I ended up eating elsewhere and I was not happy since I had paid for breakfast! My return trip was even worse. my friend and I were both took a bite of the meat and cheese and it was spoiled. The fruit was rotten as well. the runny scrambled eggs finally showed up around 9:00 even though breakfast starts at 7.
But not bad either. This hotel is very well located in Buenos Aires, just a couple of minutes on foot from the main tourist streets and 10-minutes from down-town. The hotel is clean and tidy. The staff are efficient and friendly. The only letdown is the odd signs of ware and tear: in particular one of the two elevators was out of action, and in a tall building with lots of rooms you do need at least two working lifts… The hotel does not do evening meals (not a problem given its location near numerous restaurants). The breakfast is buffet style with lots to choose from, both hot and cold. Definitely a good base to explore Buenos Aires!
it completes all the bullet points, the only problem is the very small parking lot which leaves a lot to desire, the closeness to a market store really helps when you arrive hungry late at night and being 6 blocks away from the main street also helps, really good overall
Well located in the center of the city, close to transportation, if needed, close to attractions, restaurants, near pubs, a turibus station is close to it, nice personnel, shopping mall, etc. A good place to stay while in Buenos Aires.
Great location, thats it. Lack of investment, left the hotel in poor conditions. You see humedity, furniture missing parts. Bathroom instead of soap or shampoo, they offer containers without labels. Room refrigerator poor, very poor, crackers packages open and do not remove by housekeeper.
I've been coming to Buenos Aires on business for nearly 15 years and I remember the first time I came to the Dazzler in the early 2000s it was a really nice, modern business hotel. The minibar was well stocked, the normal rooms were comfortable and the suite was a treat, with a jacuzzi, a lounge studio area and it felt like an upscale hotel. In addition, the fantastic location and the Establo restaurant just across the street made it feel like a real treat. Over the years I have seen it age under my eyes, I suppose a bit like myself, the rooms more tired, the minibar progressively less stocked and the entire structure decisely feeling worn. New hotels have cropped up in the fashionable district of Puerto Madero but I keep coming back to this place, maybe becasue it reminds me of me 15 years ago, but I have to admit that if someone came here today for the first time they would not be as impressed as I was my first time around. The positives though remain: As I said, great location right by a nice shopping center, across from a nice steak place (though even they lost a few points over the years) and competitively priced. On the other hand, if gym is a must for you avoid this place. Also, if you come here, make sure you book a suite, or I think they call it executive room. Essentially the two room mini suite, not luxury but makes working and spending more time in room less of a pain.
Booked thru agent in Montevideo, which included this hotel and the Buquebus ferry. Told hotel was 4 star. It would only be 4 star on a scale of 15 or more. The check in staff was friendly and courteous. Two elevators, but only one worked first day out of two. Breakfast is included, minimal selection of breads and cereal, only hot dish was scrambled eggs. Room was small but clean. I did not see a restaurant or bar in hotel. The location was good though, near shopping and many sights. Good to sleep in, but not anything else.
We chose this hotel as our base for Argentina for the location. We booked 3 separate times over a course of 3 weeks. It's close to everything within walking distance. There are great restaurants, bars, a laundry place located on the same street. The Buenos Aires Tour bus can be picked up at the end of the street on plaza San Martin. The receptionists speak English and are very helpful and courteous. The wifi signal is strong in the room. The breakfast buffet is very good as well. But..there are inconsistencies in the rooms. We chose the Classic room which is larger than the basic room. However, our first room had an easy chair and reading floor light which was great. However, the second time, there was the light but no chair. Just a large space in the room. The hairdryer cord was frayed and showing exposed wires. I notified reception and was given a hairdryer and was told to use a room 2 floors down to dry my hair since the outlet in our bathroom was also broken. This went on for 2 of the 3 days we stayed there. Everything was fixed the night before we checked out. The gym photos are also deceptive. It's a small grubby airless room. You're better off, running in plaza San Martin. These are the reasons that I took points away from this centrally located hotel. We would stay here again because we know what to expect.
