I stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed my stay. I liked the location as it was close to Recoleta - walking. Also good restaurants around the corner. The bedrooms are good for solo travelers or couples. Staff were helpful and kind.
We stayed here recently on a 3 day trip to Buenos Aires. The location is fantastic, right in the centre of everything, close walking distance to most things you’d want to see, and a short uber to anything else you would need. The staff at the hotel are so helpful and friendly and absolutely go over and above for the guests. Unfortunately the room and bathroom were not up to the standard that we were hoping. Whilst the room is very big, and fairly modern in design, it is getting rather tired and some bits unclean. The bathroom leaves very little privacy as it’s joined directly to the room with no door. The glass door to the toilet is only a half door so this means privacy is zilch if you like a bit of space during these times. The shower is small, but was quite dirty (black mould on the screen and rubber joinings), and the drain didn’t work well at all. The room itself was really dark because of its proximity to other buildings. I suspect the bright photos they have taken for the website are only rooms on the very highest floors. A small side complaint.. the overpowering sweet scent they have in the lobby and rooms is quite strong. If you like it then perhaps it’s a nice touch. For me, it was quite sickly smelling and made me feel a bit ill every time I got home for the day. Whilst this hotel definitely goes out of its way to make guests comfortable, there are a few things that didn’t meet my expectations for a comfortable stay. They definitely need to deep clean some of the bathroom spaces to continue their great ratings on TripAdvisor. That said, for location, price and staff I would probably stay here again.
I spent 2 days here after my Antarctic Cruise and was glad I did. Unfortunately I didn’t have their breakfast as I was catching up on my sleep. The check-in was quick, and they had staff that spoke English. Each floor had 2 rooms on it, and to my surprise a Jacuzzi tub (with working jets). It’s got a good spot for tourists, as it was close to the domestic airport and was only a few blocks from a tourist shopping area and a park. On check in staff pointed out the tourist spots and would help get a taxi if needed, I chose to save that for my return visit to Buenos Aries. There are restaurants close by as well as 24hour convenience stores, and during the day a small grocery store. They keep the door locked all the time so Staff will buzz you in and out. As I know heading back to Buenos Aries is in my cards I’ll be keeping this Hotel in mind to stay at again. convenience
Really enjoyed the helpful, friendly staff in this excellent boutique hotel. It is near many attractions, and easy to get to by cab to museums that are further away. There are some nice parks for strolling during the during the day, and many interesting buildings and great cafes in the area. The rooms are large and the beds, pillows are comfortable.
We spontaneously visited Buenos Aires, without having booked any hotel. In the lonely planet hotel overview for Buenos Aires the short text about the Casa Calma quickly caught my eyes. So after having reached Buenos Aires in the morning we walked over to this little hotel. I was more expecting some kind of hostel, admitting that I haven't read the lonely planet page thoroughly. So we were positively surprised about the nice atmosphere of this hotel. It is covered with plants outside, inside it also has a small "garden" behind windows. Not having reserved, we were lucky to get a room for two nights. The price seemed a little high, when I now check the average price for BA, it is ok. The rooms/apartments are really beautiful. You get a whirlpool and a sauna included in your room, really nice, although we didn't plan to spent to much time in the room. Everything was clean and nice, really lovely. The receptionists were helpful and absolutely friendly, have experienced way worse services in the past. The breakfast was tasty and extensive, offered as a buffet, especially the juices and the additionally offered egg meals were great. We really enjoyed our two days in the hotel and can recommend it without restrictions.
Casa Calma is a real jewel on Suipacha. It's a small boutique hotel which you almost pass by without notice; it's dwarfed by its bigger sisters and offers everything those other hotels don't have. It's comfortable and comforting right from the efficient check-in through the stay and until check-out. We stayed here the better part of a week and thoroughly enjoyed everything: great and helpful reception, nice little hand library, pleasant breakfast area. And everything well lit. Our room was really great (and nicely quiet): green plants in the windows; comfortable bed; everything you might need, and more: even a jacuzzi! Staff had much information about the city, and went out of their way to make you feel happy. Breakfast was great with a nice self-service buffet but also with eggs any which way if you asked. Wonderful place to stay!
I cannot say enough great things about this hotel. Everything from the comfortable bed, to the two person Jacuzzi tub, to the steam room was spectacular. The concierge had great recommendations for nearby authentic Argentine restaurants and was able to give us clear instructions on how to walk to nearby attractions. The hotel even gifted us a complementary bottle of Champagne along with a lovely note for us to celebrate our honeymoon. I would recommend for anyone to stay at this hotel while visiting Buenos Aires.
We really enjoyed staying at this little but lovely hotel; the hotel's location in BA was awesome - we walked everywhere. And rooms were lovely, quiet, clean, spacious and very well decorated. My friend had stayed there years ago, and that's why we returned. Very sweet, accommodating staff too and lovely breakfasts...
We stayed at the Casa Calma Hotel during our honeymoon. The hotel was perfect- great location, nice room and very friendly and helpful staff. Love that it's eco-friendly as well. Only downside is not restaurant for room service.
My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon in Buenos Aires and, I have to say, it was a great from start to finish. We arrived much later than expected and there was someone at the front desk who checked us in and gave us great advice that helped for our entire stay in BA. They gave us a ton of information on restaurants, tango shows, and other attractions throughout the city and even took time to go over the map with us, despite the fact it was late at night when we arrived. Our room was excellent and exactly what we needed, to include an extremely comfortable bed, a sauna, a good shower, and a jacuzzi! Additionally, Retiro, Casa Calma's neighborhood, is a good home base for getting around Buenos Aires. When it was (sadly) time to come home, the front desk booked us a car to the airport and, because BA rush hour traffic can be crazy, they kept us abreast of the driver's status up until he arrived. Finally, the entire staff at Casa Calma speaks fluent English so, if you are like me and have rusty Spanish language skills, you will be able to get the help you need.
