The Atempo Design Hotel is located in Palermo, which is a short walk from restaurants, bars, grocery stores and cafes. The hotel itself has been renovated and quite new. The rooms are spacious and clean with good balcony views of Buenos Aires. However the downside of this, is that it can get quite loud on the weekend if your room is facing the main street with the bars. The staff are very friendly and always willing to give advice to tourists, from where to eat, to what sites to visit. From an amenities perspective, the hotel does not do laundry, however there is a laundry place within a 5 minute walk which are fast and reasonably priced. There is a breakfast area and bar within the hotel as well. The hotel also provides bicycles for hire. Overall an enjoyable stay.
Very nice hotel with spacious rooms. Some of the furniture is a bit outdated. Very convenient location for whom wanta to roam around Palermo and its bars and restaurants. Still have the taste of the breakfast chipas in my mouth!
We were really impressed with Atempo at first. The staff were friendly and helpful in every way. Rooms were nice - love the polished concrete and space! Breakfast was really good too in a bright and light-filled room. Location was perfect....less than a 10-minute walk to the subway line D which takes you to the centre of BA...and there are lots of good cafes, bars and restaurants around. The big problem that ruined our stay was the non-existent soundproofing. Both nights we were woken in the early hours by the partying guests in the room next to us - we could hear them laughing, talking, singing and even the phone ringing. It was a nightmare! The second night we had a taxi booked for 5:00 a.m. so needless to say we got no sleep before our long flight home. It would have been appreciated if the hotel staff had been more proactive in silencing the guests. We complained both nights and were told after our first complaint that someone would speak to them - which clearly didn’t happen. I’ve also emailed the hotel twice since our stay regarding this issue and have had no response.
The big plus are the location and the room size. Located in Palermo you can easily access lots of bars and restaurants by foot. However if you want to use the subway you need to walk min. 1 km. The room is quite big and comfortable incl. a small cooking place (if you need). The backyard has a small pool, but we did not use. Wifi works quite good. If you take the bikes from the hotel, check it first. We had one good and one old one with more or less working breaks.
The very best of all: a well trained and above all, serviceable staff. They really go the extra mile in order to make your staying memorable and pleasant. there are some "minors" inconvenient. The Wi-FI is not as good as it supposed to be and the sound proof walls are not... well, lets say not that good. The decor has seen better times also. The location is insuperable, since the hotel is at walking distance from the best bars, restaurants and shops in town. but again, all these problems fade away when you witness the extra courtesy of the staff: I sated there with my girlfriend, who happens to have a thing with.. kiwis, at breakfast. She casually mentioned this while we were chatting on the counter. For the next 9 days, the staff always saved 3 kiwis for her, at breakfast. And later we realized they didn't have kiwis regularly, so they bought them specially for her.... just lovely.
I stayed in a loft room for 4 nights and left disappointed. First, the room is very spacious and the balcony is lovely but because of the concrete heavy design it is not very sound proof. You don't here people taking but if anything is dropped on the floor or people walk with high heels you will hear it. In fact it is very noisy in the morning making sleeping in almost impossible. Bring ear plugs. Otherwise the decor is showing some age and has generally been very well used. Staff was friendly and generally helpful however I did have a staff member call my room at 12:05am to see where I booked my room. I was shocked that they would call so late for such a stupid reason. Very unprofessional. The location is pretty good so it has that going for it. This is certainly not a horrible hotel and the rates are quite low but for the reasons above I will be staying elsewhere when I return in March.
Big, clean, comfortable and affordable rooms. It was our second stay (1 week each) and we chose it mainly because we love the location. Breakfast isn't good but there are many good choices around, I prefer Asturias. Nice staff. Wi-fi is horrible. It's an issue if you have to work during your stay. We needed data roaming.
The first you see in the lobby are photos of naked women The second is a drunken night staff The third is a overheated room The dirty carpet and the fireholes in the sofa are talking for themselves The bathroom smells like never seen any cleaning. The best was the view from the terrasse to the firework at Christmas.
The hotel itself is excellent, one of the cleanest and nicest rooms I have stayed in. They are sleek, modern, and have lots of space. The free breakfast in the morning has a good selection and quality if you're on the run somewhere. Staff is very helpful and attentive. The neighborhood really comes alive later at night on Wednesdays through Saturdays and Atempo is in a great location with just a short walk to lots of nice restaurants and bars. I would highly recommend and would stay again on a future trip!
Outstanding duplex rooms. Design minimalist rooms completed by a familiar breakfast scent. Kitchen available. Not recommended to people with restrictions to walk stairs. Very well located with a plenty of bars and restaurants at neighborhood.
