Sheraton Bucharest Hotel5.0 out of 5.0

The reception staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The breakfast room operates very smoothly considering the number of people they are catering for. Plenty of choices and the whole restaurant is kept immaculate. Bar service does depend on the number of customers, the bar does need people not a person when busy. Reception area has plenty of quiet areas and the fire gives a homely effect. IT depends on which computer is free, printer service not working but reception staff very helpful in printing off for you. The only negative is the Avalon restaurant. Two and a half hours for two courses is very slow and despite several requests for the desert menu it took a visit to the restaurant manager to get one. Asking for the food bill to be sent also took an age. The food however was great !
Centrally located hotel, with great views of the city. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of choices. Staff were friendly and helpful. No surprises with a Sheraton Hotel ... very good quality all the way.
We were a bit disappointed with this hotel. On paper it has everything you need for a short stay. The room wasn't particularly spacious but the beds were of a good size and reasonably comfortable. We never did manage to regulate the air conditioning to a good temperature and for some reason the hotel doesn't think that you need milk as part of the tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast was decidedly average but there was an omelette station where the food was freshly cooked - when the chef put in an appearance. The staff weren't really helpful of friendly - they seemed more concerned about setting tables than serving customers. The plus here is that there's a supermarket and a great Italian restaurant nearby.
perfectly located business hotel in bucharest with awesome club lounge and fantastic views of the city. the lovely benihana restaurant makes the hotel even more adorable. rooms are beautiful with white marble floors and electronic temperature setting and room control (heating & cooling) unlike other hotels where air con works either for cooling or for heating. Many nice restaurants and a huge supermarket in the neighborhood.
Stayed just one night at Sheraton this time. The best with the hotel is the centrally location not to far from the old town. Had late dinner in the international restaurant in the hotel. A bit boring interior restaurant, but the ostrich steak was good - a bit costly though. Room and breakfast was ok.
Sheraton quality - room and furnishings great, included coffe making facilities appreciated. Staff very helpful and polite. Food in beakfast room very nice indeed - plenty of variety to choose from. Location is very central, close to the Romana square metro station.
From check in to check out, this Sheraton met or exceeded my expectations for a Sheraton hotel. Throughout my stay, the staff was almost always friendly and helpful. I'd like to single out the young man who checked me out, Elisha (maybe Elijah), for his very positive attitude and personality. This is a relatively new Sheraton. I believe it was previously a Howard Johnsons. In any case, while the building and its layout are quite old, Sheraton has done a nice job of renovating the rooms and public areas. My room and bathroom were comfortable. The Sheraton Club on the 18th Floor always had a nice selection of snacks and drinks. I was never there for the late afternoon/early evening hors d'oeuvre but had the nice breakfast each morning. The only problem I had with the club was the temperamental coffee machine which always seemed to have an issue when I was there. Each time the attendant resolved it. One morning I advised the young lady that it was broken. She replied rather tersely, 'I know.' I had to ask her whether or not I would need to leave and go downstairs to get my morning coffee. Shortly, she did let me know that the machine was fixed. Maybe she was having a bad morning or hadn't had her morning coffee! Maybe she had gotten tired of guests telling her about the coffee machine. In any case, this was only a minor issue. I used the fitness center each day. It was perhaps a little small for a Sheraton of this size but it had everything I needed for my daily workout, a decent mix of cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights. The only inconvenience was the number of elevators and the fact that relatively large Viking Cruise Tour groups stay here. On more than one occasion, I would return to the hotel at the same time as the tour group and have a long wait for the elevator. I managed to beat the rush by taking the stairs to the third floor and calling an elevator. It seems that after dropping off guests, the elevators are 'smart' enough to recognize that people on lower levels want to go up. So rather than go up and then go all the way down, one elevator stops. Overall, I'd highly recommend this Sheraton to people who are coming to Bucharest for business or pleasure.
Very mediocre modern hotel. Nice enough for Bucharest, but just another cookie-cutter Sheraton in a so-so area. Zero atmosphere, which is apparently fine with many people. I wouldn't stay here again, there are other hotels which have a connection to Bucharest and some local flavor - this isn't it (of course it is a Sheraton and looks and feels like EVERY OTHER SHERATON in the world). If you want to feel like you're in LA or Houston or Atlanta or any other US city this is the place for you. I can do without it, there are many charming places to stay in Bucharest but this isn't it. We'll avoid this soul-less knock off in the future and stay closer to Old Town in a Bucharest hotel, this Sheraton is nothing special. You may as well be in the US....and have an over-priced room.
Hotel is about 20 minutes walk to city centre. Beware of taxis without meters etc, as often in capitals in Eastern Europe cheating is around the corner so ask for metered taxi or order uber. We stayed in room 1907 which is a club level floor to which I was upgraded because of SPG Platinum. The room is opposite of the "cleaning ladies head quarters" and very noisy. Try to avoid this corner. Haven't tried the restaurants and breakfast is nice but in a noisy "outdated" room. They breakfast closes at 11am in Weekes by closing the curtains to the area where the food is. Never seen that before in a 5 star hotel before:). Next time in Bucharest I will stay in different place to see the difference as this Sheraton didn't make any special impressions. Hotel has been upgraded but
Big hotel with an excellent location, a lot of restaurants, change offices, shops, transportation facilities , etc. just several meters from the ground floor. Nice big rooms with clean bathroom and coffee corner in room (no milk, not even whitener). A big breakfast with great variety of products, however as I stayed for 7 nights I noticed that nothing is changing in its menu from one day to another. Close to HABAD synagogue and metro station.
