Novotel Bucharest City Centre

Check in was quickly done by a gentleman who quickly and expertly advised ofthe hotel and ameneties. Up to the ninth floor and a spacious room with bathroom and separate toilet. Room extremely quiet. Room well furnished but lacking in cupboard space. Well siuated near Old Town and was a good base for our Bucharest vacation.

Very little to fault here. A good standard 4 star hotel. Decor is contemporary business and clean. The location is fantastic with a 10 minute walk into the old town. My reasons for a 4/5 rating is that 2 out of my 3 day stay, there was a problem with the water supply which meant the water was turned of for 5 hours on each of those days. Front of house service could have been more personable too.

As a Novotel, the feel is international bland, but the location is excellent for walking to the Old Town or People's Palace. The rooms were much bigger than normal for this level of hotel, with a beg bed and a sofa. The bathroom was split with separate toilet and washroom. As others have noted, this would be better with a small sink in the toilet, as you have to go from one to the other. Still useful though. The hotel has a Romanian winebar that, whilst still having the international bland feel a bit, actually serves a great range of Romanian (and International if you're not feeling experimental) wine of very good quality at reasonable prices. The quality is very high, and the waiting staff are very friendly and helpful. It was an unexpected little bonus. The hotel also has a steamroom that we enjoyed. The pool is small but has a wavemachine to swim against. In other places I have found these did not work well, but here it was powerful, and meant you could swim against it without reaching the other end for longer swims, and several people could use it at a time. We did not eat at the hotel other than breakfast, which was of a decent standard for the level of hotel, the usual range, but good scrambled egg, and a few local touches, like excellent transylvanian apple juice. The staff were very friendly and helpful, eg being happy to extend an already generous checkout time as we nursed our new year's eve hangovers. The only faults would be that the bar was closed to us on NYE unless we paid for admission, this didn;t matter much as we were heading out but we would have had another drink first, and I thought it was a bit off for a 4* hotel not to have a bar open for its own guests. Also, when we extended our checkout no one told us we needed to go to reception to change our keycards so there was a bit of up and downing in the lift. Seems a bit churlish to complain when they were being generous in extending anyway, so not a whole lot to complain about. Why 4 circle not 5 then? Just because Tripadvisor is not that gradated, within its category of 4 star hotels it is really good, but 5 circle has for me to be reserved for something exceptional.

Had not been to Romania for a few years and yet although I did stay many times in this hotel a few years back they remembered. After a friendly and smooth check in realized they upgraded me to the executive floor. Upon entering the very spacious room I was happily surprised to find a personalized welcome card in my room thanking me for my loyalty to NOVOTEL. Great personal touch. It's these little things that makes a world of difference. Fantastic stay as usual and YES, I will be back and stay loyal to the NOVOTEL BUCHAREST.

As an Accor Platinum member I got upgraded to a beautiful suit. So it was a great stay. The location of the Hotel is great, walking distance from the center and the old town. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was rich and very good

There is no doubt about the comfort of the rooms in the Bucharest Novotel. I had a large double bed plus a large sofa in a seating area. The bathroom had both a bath and a separate shower room, however the bath was too small for me (1.89 metres); the shower worked very well. The toilet was in a separate room. A kettle is provided for making tea and coffee, but I advise taking your own tea bags or coffee. A mini bar is provided. WiFi was available in the rooms and worked well. A huge breakfast is served with too many choices of hot and cold fayre, plus fruits, salads, cereals, yoghurts, juices and hot drinks. It's all good and you will probably eat too much. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about the evening meal which was neither hot nor interesting. I classify myself as a vegetarian although I do eat fish; dietary requirements are just not understood by this hotel. A fellow travellers who is gluten intolerant was given Bruschetta which of course is bread and is not allowed. I was served Bruschetta with meat pate on because the pate made from pork offal was not considered to be meat. I was denied chocolate cake because this was seen as not being vegetarian. Stay here, enjoy the comfort of the room, and feast yourself at breakfast, but eat and drink elsewhere.

I got cosy and modern apartment with comfortable quin size bed and nice and clean bathroom. Quite close to old town (5 min. walk). Bar open to very late hours. Tasty breakfast. I really recommend this hotel.

Great location near the old town. Well-equipped rooms and great treatment of the hotel staff. The room price is worth the consideration we received. Every call to the staff was answered quickly and courteously. The hotel is quiet but has a great location for visitors to Bucharest

Excellent service and support for a medium-sized medical conference - comfortable rooms commented on by many speakers, excellent and helpful staff, great food and organisation and a very central location with the old town and amenities a short five minute stroll from the front of the building. Conference facilities and AV support all perfectly competent. Would happily come back again..

We are a family of four, parents, a teen and a tween and we stayed here for three nights in December. There was a small glitch at check in, the interconnecting rooms we had booked were not available. The staff member was very charming and he smoothed it over with complimentary cake and wine. All family members were satisfied with this! Rooms are scrupulously clean (excellent work, Housekeeping team!), a good size and very comfortable. Free WiFi worked to a very high standard. Breakfast was fine, lots of choice. Reception staff were wonderful, so helpful (booked a visit to the Palace of the Parliament) and with better English than me! We ordered room service one night but wouldn't recommend it, food was tepid when it arrived. Overall we loved this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone.
