Let be honest: I have chosen this hotel for staying thanks to quite high rate in tripadvisor. And I am still satisfied. Hotel is small and cozy, located in city center and cheap. Very nice people in reception: good looking and polite. I had booked double for single use and it was a good idea. Room was large and sleep quality was perfect. Hotel has 3 stars, but equipped as 4 stars hotels in Western Europe. There was quiet AC, there was kettle and there was a fridge with minibar, by the way with normal prices. And a safe and a small balcony. What I really missing were socket outlets. If you have smart phone and tablet and laptop and camera, you have to charge these items. But, in my room was one and only free socket only in bathroom and it was for shaver. And, shower cabin needs refreshment: doors were replaced with curtain, but this is not a normal solution. Concerning the breakfast it was more-less. Nothing special, but better than nothing. In summary: I recommend this hotel to others!
Room was supposed to be a double bed, but had two twin beds similar to the ones we had as a child. Guy from front desk tried to squeeze them together. It was dark in room and some lights were not plugged in or had no outlet to plug it in, same for the little coffee pot - no outlet. You had to unplug the tv to plug in the coffee maker. Mattresses were old and lopsided from being old and worn out. Shower curtain was half torn off the rings, oh, and shower had black mold in the corners of the shower floor and entry. Breakfast was average, but stale breads and pastry. Coffee expresso was very good. Also, the breakfast attendant young woman greeted customers with a smile and always said good morning. She was the friendly staff worker. The desk clerks at front desk almost acted as if do not bother us. Room had a very small balcony which was a nice surprise for getting fresh air without having to go downstairs and outside. Poor service and old furnishings. Curtains in room were from yesteryear. Needs upgrading and renovation. Location half block from Cismigiu Garden Park, which is beautiful. Very close walking to old town center of restaurants and bars. Beware of no parking during days business hours. Extremely crowded streets and rush hour.
Stayed here in August for 3 nights, the hotel is well situated a minute walk from Cismigiu Park and a 10 minute walk from the old town. Polite and helpful staff, rooms are clean with a comfortable bed, air con, TV and mini bar. Breakfast is a bit basic and not aimed at tourists but they do omelettes on request. Overall for the price I would recommend the hotel
Treat yourself to a stay in this fantastic hotel. All the staff are absolutely brilliant, and really go out of their way to help guests. The rooms are lovely, and the location means it's quiet but within easy access of the main part of the capital. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
Our tour booked us into the hotel. It is reasonably centrally located but it is in need of refurbishment and the staff have a very poor understanding of customer service. Our room was not fully serviced when we were given the key. It took several phone calls and visits to the Front Desk to be issued with bath towels. There was tea and coffee making facilities but the tea and coffee supplies had not been replenished. It only had one small lift which meant you had to allow 15 – 30 minutes to get down to the foyer. Breakfast was average.
I booked this as a Tripadvisor special, prepaid. The listing said breakfast was included but it wasn't, as well the booking agent was "Get a Room" so I don't feel Tripadvisor was clear or forthright with this booking. Regardless the room was fine for a night, you can walk to the Old Town in 10 minutes, It is a 4 block walk from the 783 airport bus which stops at University Square. A 15 minute walk to the train station and a 5 minute walk to the European and Romanian Art Galleries. The wifi is fine in the room, the bed was comfortable. Water is not free, you must buy it from the mini bar. Several things didn't work - the lock box, the TV and a light. My room faced an alley which was noisy in the morning. As a solo traveller I didn't feel unsafe returning at night after dinner. Bucharest is delightful - I wish I had stayed longer than 1 night
We have spent three nights in this hotel and even though outdated, rooms need refubishment, fridge was full of ice, breakfast was bland with low choice...i must point out two excellent things: isolation between rooms was very good so we had a good night sleep and the location was great, very close to the city centre! So, if you are spending most of your time outside, I recommend this hotel just for spending the night.
We stayed for 3 nights at this centrally located hotel. Although we had opted for a superior room, we found the furnishings to be rather tired and in need of refurbishment. The same could be said for the public areas. The room was clean and had a very good-sized bathroom. There was no problem with street noise. Hotel staff varied from helpful to disinterested. Breakfast was adequate but I see little point in offering hot food if it is not kept warm which seemed to be the case on each morning. The location is quite good, close to the lovely Cismigiu Park; the old town is a walkable distance away. I would also recommend Vatra restaurant in the same street. If revisiting Bucharest I would not choose to stay at this hotel again.
We stayed here for 4 nights in late July. The hotel is very well located, one minute from the delightful Chismigiu park and 10 minutes from the Old Town. The staff were helpful and efficient; we knew we needed to book one more night in Bucharest on our return from a 3 night trip to Brasov, and the receptionist booked us a night at their sister hotel (Hotel central, just 5 minutes away) for that final night. The Opera's décor and furnishings are maybe getting a bit tired and could probably do with some refurbishment, but this is a minor gripe, outweighed by the positives. There is also an excellent Romanian restaurant, Vatra, just 3 minutes walk away. One other tip: if you need to wash out any clothes in the sink, you can hang them on the balcony where the aircon unit is positioned, and the hot air blowing from the aircon outflow will dry them within an hour - it's like having your own laundry dryer just outside!
Located in a walking distance from the old town, this hotel offers average rooms with poor maintenance. The cleaning service is probably missing.... Nice breakfast though and smooth check in and check out.
