Good location in the heart of Bucharest The location associated with noisy streets The lobby serves as a congested eating place with a limited menu Very small rooms Small and congested elevators Clean and quick services The place needs polishing
It's been a while since my last stay at this hotel... A few weeks ago I was with my family in Bucharest and we decided to stay again here. Even if the hotel was already great, I was pleasantly surprised to see some new upgrades they've made :) The lobby got a new "face", the restaurant became a little more "stylish", the employees dropped that pretty serious face and treat you like they know you from a lifetime ! They even have a funny description of themselves on their name badge. Rooms are almost exaggeratedly large, very clean, very good smelling, with great sleep conditions ! TV, A/C, wi-fi, minibar, welcome water (or wine if you are lucky :P) are still there, making your stay the best possible. The large bathroom, with free toiletries, hair dryer, bathrobe, bath slippers, all together come to complete the great room ! Breakfast is very delicious, various and at a decent price (if is not included in room rate already). The outside terrace has some heaters, so even if it's winter time, if you are a smoker, you won't freeze :) The staff, no matter if we talk about the receptionist, barman, maintenance man, maid, management etc are more than happy to help you, and your request is solved next minute, so, a big thumbup for ALL of them !! Keep up the great job ! Another good reason to choose this hotel is its position, very close to city centre, to the main objectives in Bucharest, to metro/bus station. I warmly recommend this hotel and definitely will stay there again on my next visit in Bucharest !
Its the 3rd time when i return to golden tulip victoria.nice people, lovely rooms, all very clean, very intimate, tasty food.(the best sandwich club in town, and not only)next time when i will be in bucharest for sure i will choose it again!
The hotel is perfectly located for exploring Bucharest. Easy walking distance to the Village Museum and down to the old town, so long as you like to walk. Excellent breakfast, although they do sometimes run out of tables at peak time. The staff were very helpful, keeping one of our suitcases while we did a 4 day tour of Transylvania. We did report a maintenance problem with our first room (missing prong on bedside light connection) but don't know if it got fixed or not. Good solid hotel for reasonable rate.
Room was very nice and clean, more than enough space. Also the location was good, you could also walk to the old city center. Staff was friendly and helpful. Also the breakfast was very good. Wifi was very good also. I would recommend it.
Staff attitude poor, rooms poky with unbelievable heat belting unstoppably from radiators/ fridge, cleaning very average at best and whole place faded and tatty. Little to recommend this place other than only 25 minutes from old city centre. so many better choices available.
I was here for two nights after a recomandation and the whole experience was awful. First, we could not get a key to our room in two days because the system that creates keys for our room does not work and a person had to come with us everytime with a master key.(they refused to give us another room) Then we were disgusted by the mold in the bathroom, and the thick dust everywhere. The furniture was chipped and showd its age, we also had a old lightbulb that when on would hiss quite bad. After all this, there was a lack to details like an actual minibar price list or tv program that would be accurate or two bath robes since it was a couple room or more than 4 tissues in the dispenser in the bathroom, and others... One more weird thing was that in the morning a guy knocked on the door and 2 seconds later, before we could even respond, barged in and asked us, while in bed, if we consumed anything from the minibar and then refilled it... The only good thing is that the person who recommended it to us changed her mind now about recommending it ever again. Just, just stay away.
Friendly, helpful staff. But, this is no longer a four star hotel. The bathroom and hotel room were both very large, but the formerly pinkish/apricot carpet is now disgusting. There was no hot water for my 05:30 shower. There is an unholy order in the room, and Housekeeping uses a reeking perfume to mask it. Good location, though
New building. Great staff at reception. Breakfast was passible. Room very dusty and dirty. Bathroom covered in mold and mildew. Best part of our stay was checking out. Avoid unless it's the only room in town.
We returned early in the morning from our vacation in Bucharest. Stayed for about four days at Golden Tulip Victoria Bucharest. The experience was unpleasant. 1. The pictures of the hotel on the Booking website and in all the websites that advertise it show pictures that do not reflect reality. In terms of the hotel's structure, the hotel is very small. The entrance hall includes the dining room, the reception, the elevators and the lobby, which consists of a single long sofa. Gives a sense of a hostel rather than a hotel that is supposed to be four stars. We put extra money for the exclusive room, which was supposed to be pampering. In practice, the room was very small and was not worth the extra payment. There are no balconies at all and the hotel is located at a very boring intersection and the location is quite central, but there are much more central hotels. 2. Amenities at the hotel are very expensive. Room service was expensive, and on the last day our flight was at 23:15 and we checked on the possibility of making our check-out later, the extra payment was very expensive. 3. The hotel staff showed a lack of professionalism all along. We asked him a few questions, most of them the staff could not answer. We also had a serious incident to buy tickets for the tourist bus and when we asked we found out that we could buy tickets at the reception through the hotel. We bought the tickets, went to the nearest bus station and when we got on the bus the guide told us that the tickets we bought from the hotel were not valid because the hotel had to sign us behind them. We had to pay once more for 2 tickets. Luckily, the guide showed some care and called the hotel, told them that they was wrong and told us that when we returned to the hotel we would demand our money back. We returned to the hotel in the evening, and when we went to the receptionist who sold us the tickets he apologized and said that this was the first time he had sold tickets and that tomorrow morning he should be the hotel manager and come over after breakfast. The next day, we went to the manager, showed him the additional tickets we had to buy, including the reception. At first he claimed that they were not tickets for the tourist bus but immediately corrected himself and said he would check and come back with an answer when we checked out the hotel, two hours later. Two hours later, we went down to check-out and started a whole saga around the issue of ticketing and the refund we were supposed to receive for their mistake. After tests, conversations and unpleasantness, our money was finally returned, but we had to go through a whole story because of the lack of professionalism of the hotel staff. 4. Breakfast - was not varied at all, very boring, without turnover. There was not even a warmer for the bread or cakes, which we did not touch because they were very dry and not fresh. 5. Upon check-out from the hotel, and after the story with the tickets, the hotel manager tried to push things we did not buy from the minibar. When we told him not, he did not argue at all and went on talking to us as if everything was normal. There was a real feeling that he was trying to make up for himself for the mistake with the tickets, for pushing us something we did not buy from the minibar. Bottom line, hotel is not recommended: small, not pampering, unprofessional and not nice staff. We will not go back there anymore and we also advise the rest not to choose to stay there.
