Spent 4 nights here. The hotel is very well located and within walking distance to the old town and many other attractions. The hotel staff are pleasant but not really interested. We booked through and they messed the reservation up, by the end of the stay the manager and still hadn't resolved the issue. The rooms are basic but clean, the bed was hard and you need to ask for extra pillows. The shower was sometimes cold too. Breakfast... Very limited and not worth the money. Coffee was excellent, but go out into the city for more choice and better food. If you want a budget hotel that's well placed and aren't too bothered about the extra comforts this is the hotel.

I stayed here last week, for 4 nights. Great location, close by to everything, if your a walker then you can walk to everywhere. Nice big spacious room and bathroom. Big corner bath tub. Spotlessly clean. Lovely roman themed décor. Breakfast was amazing, fresh warm baked pastries and lots to choose from. Only downside to this hotel is the pillows were flat but that's it. Definitely recommend to stay here.

This hotel was booked for a three night stay with my husband and two kids. The location is fairly central but on a busy, noisy road and the shops in the parade underneath the hotel include a sex- shop, strip club and several prostitutes hanging around outside in the evening. The hotel is meant to be no smoking but the smell of cigarettes pervades the atmosphere at all times. There is no natural light anywhere in the hotel and huge, floodlit advertising hoardings cover the windows(see photo); this causes a lot of light to seep in around the curtains at night. The fittings and furniture are old, worn and very dated. The breakfast buffet is basic with little choice. The coffee however was very good. The staff on the front desk were disinterested and unfriendly. I don't know who awarded this hotel 4 stars but they were obviously having a joke at travellers' expense.

This is the second time that we've stayed here as a family and we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Bucharest. Great big rooms, kept spotlessly cleaned, friendly staff and the hotel is just a minutes walk from University Square and the metro. Highly recommended

I only went to the breakfast. Have a very very good expresso coffee, the better i had in town, and the buffet is OK. Some diversity, the space is cosy and nice. But the guys at the reception were very arrogant.

Hotel looked bit dated, but clean and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast buffet was not bad, but the sellection could be better. The balcony door won't open. Great location - close to everything.

Please read all of this. I came here with my sister and fathers partner after my father had a heart attack on the Danube. Our life has been a turmoil since hoping he will recover and organising repatriation. Visiting hospital every day and trying to hold it together. That is our awful situation. These suites are wonderful. The cost is very reasonable especially when divided between three. This is a very grand 1920s (?) style building. Rooms are massive, ceiling is very high, it's like going back in time. Elaborate decorations. But very clean. There is a massive foyer. The reception staff are exceptionally caring and helpful and going the extra mile to help in solving numerous problems in this critical situation. Our suite is beautiful. Sleeps 3 in two superking beds in two rooms. Beds extremely comfortable. Massive bathroom with corner bath. Hot water good. Brilliant air conditioning. Wifi very good and free. Very peaceful in here. No hustle and bustle in the hotel which is what we need. There is a mini bar with fridge which we are stowing water/milk in. There is an electric kettle and coffee/milk, you can buy tea next door no problem. Small supermarket and chemist next door. Breakfast is good. As much coffee or tea as you want, good fruit and continental breakfast items. Hot breakfast food too. The old Town is just five minutes walk away. Many reasonable restaurants there. Metro station is two minutes walk away. If you need a taxi make sure the hotel calls it for you as the drivers will probably try to rip you off otherwise. All hotels can do this, it's guarantees the price per kilometre that you will pay (About 30p per kilometre) In the door of the hotel there is an exchange desk which does not charge any commission. The rate today was 5.01 to sell sterling, very reasonable. There is an ironing board and iron. Laundry facilities which we will use for the first time ever. I'd better not go on anymore we really couldn't have found anywhere better. I would rate this 10 out of five if I co would recommend ++++

Location of this hotel is excellent. It's middle of old town and pilata romana. Intercontinental hotel is a minute away. Very central. Hotel is basis and has old school feeling . Rooms are spacious and bathroom are big too with huge bathtub. Reception is very friendly and also has currency exchange facility with good rates .

This is an interesting place that has a certain vintage feel to it. The rooms are almost like small apartments with separate bedroom, relaxing space and bathroom. The decor and furniture is old fashioned and the windows are draughty so there is constant noise from the main road below. There is a kettle but no cups and the one pillow is so thin it might as well be an empty pillowcase! Breakfast selection is poor and the tables are in a very awkward layout in the small room. The location however is great; just outside the university metro stop and close enough to the centre but far enough to avoid the crowds. A little tip: when you check out leave yourself plenty of time because they won't let you leave until the strange porter man has checked your room!

Myself and 15 friends traveled to Romania last week and stayed in this hotel - really good! I was expected the usual basic hotel but big clean rooms, air con, nice bathrooms and really helpful staff. Plus great location! Very impressed for this sort of weekend, good value too
