Attention: Active Wildlife in the Area
Our area of WNC is currently experiencing increased wildlife activity, particularly from bears. While it’s a privilege to share our environment with these magnificent creatures, it’s essential that we all take precautions to ensure our safety and theirs.
Please follow these guidelines:
Secure all food and garbage: Bears are attracted to strong smells. Do not leave food in your car and reattach bungee cords to trash can lids every time.
Be aware of your surroundings: Stay alert, especially during dawn and dusk when wildlife is most active.
Avoid close encounters: If you see a bear or other wildlife, maintain a safe distance and do not approach.
Travel in groups: When possible, hike or explore with others, and make noise to alert animals of your presence. Keep dogs leashed at all times.
Your cooperation is crucial in maintaining a safe and harmonious environment for everyone. Thank you for your attention and care.

Beautiful cabin with great views!

We really enjoyed our stay. Due to the hurricane, we spent most of our time in the cabin and could not have asked for a better place to stay!

Great get away in the Smokies

We had a fantastic time staying at Stonewood cabins (#11). Check in was very easy, we had all the information we needed. The cabin is beautiful, more than enough space for our family (two adults and two kids, age 7 and 10). We stayed 5 nights. Kids loved the loft area and pool table. We enjoyed lots of time in the hot tub, used the outdoor grill, and a few visits to the shared outdoor space playing corn toss and enjoying the views. We really loved the outdoor fireplace on the deck and used that quite a bit. Cabin was clean upon arrival, kitchen stocked with all utensils and cooking items needed, plenty of towels for bathroom and hot tub. Cabin was within 20 minutes of Bryson City where we did the train ride and a few shops and restaurants on different days, also close to Deep Creek trail which was beautiful and a great hike - multiple different loops and options. We did one day trip to Pigeon Forge, nice drive through the Smokies. Travel time to PF/Gatlinburg depends on weather and traffic, not a quick drive, but some great views along the way. With the distance of the cabin to town, we only ventured out once per day, wouldn't be super easy to go in and out multiple times a day. Overall cabin was everything we hoped for and was a great stay. Would recommend staying here to others.

Good but not great

First of all the cabin itself was beautiful. Really loved the mountain vibes and there were great views. I loved that the outdoor fireplace was wood burning, because who doesn’t love a hood bonfire?! But I also loved the convenience of the indoor gas fireplace! On the not so good side, if you are looking for a quiet get away, this is not the spot. The cabin is located directly above the main highway and you can hear ALL of the traffic at all hours. The main reason I booked this cabin was for the hot tub. Very disappointed to find the first afternoon I took the cover off it was very low on water. Called the office and the maintenance man was there very quickly and was very nice. He filled it up and added chemicals and told me to wait about an hour. I decided to go in later that evening to find the water to be low again to the point that the jet was spraying me. Same situation happened to me the second day. Not sure if there was a leak but kind of annoying. Also, majority of the hot tub jets did not work :( I did enjoy my stay just not sure that it was worth what I paid.

Nice but not luxury

My family met another family at this property. The location and the entire watershed property are great, but the specific cabin left some things to be desired. This was a pet friendly unit and that was very obvious. We did not have a pet with us, but there was pet hair everywhere. The cabin was not clean or up to date with supplies either. There was a good surface cleaning, but the corners had crumbs, the dishes were old and worn out. We had to purchase our own countertop cleaner and extra garbage bags. Our calls to the office were returned quickly (hot tub issue, garbage needed to be emptied, some peat problems) so that was nice, but if you are looking for luxury, this isn’t it. It’s an OK cabin with out of date supplies and lots of pet hair!

Spacious relaxing getaway

This was a super cute cabin in a secluded relaxing area. They had a "yard" with outdoor games and fire pits and a small hiking trail all within a short walk from our cabin. The view of the mountains from the hot tub and even inside the cabin definitely made this a perfect getaway from our Midwest life. Thank you Watershed for making everything so easy to check in and also for supplying everything we needed from cooking utensils to cleaning supplies! Can't wait to come back!
