Shady Haven
This property was very quiet and off the main path. But was still very close to downtown Bryson City. Only a few miles from the popular Road to Nowhere. Which was a fun day excursion. This cabin was very clean and has two bedrooms, although it lists only one. It will sleep 4 people comfortably. Deck has picnic table, grill and rockers, and the hot tub was just right at the end of the busy day. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook with on our stay. The downsides are that there needs to be a gate to block off the back deck from the neighborhood dogs that come by every morning, and the toiletry supplies could be a little better. As well as more advertising of having no cable television in the listing. I enjoyed the quietness, but some people may not.

Hot tub in the woods (no Mountain View)
Cabin is as described, clean, and comfortable. There are a ton of hidden fees so the advertised nightly rate is way lower than what we actually paid. We were sad to find that the indoor fireplace did not work. It is advertised but make sure you are okay with no wifi or tv (we did have cell service). There is no view of the mountains, just trees. There are other cabins right next to yours so there is a lot of noise from those with barking dogs and such. We were upset to find that there are no tissues, no napkins, and only one roll of toilet paper and paper towels. At this price point we felt this was very disappointing. Though the owner did bring us more toilet paper upon request (but first told us we were supposed to bring our own). There are no hangers in the closet. No dishwasher (Dawn dish soap is available). No shampoo/conditioner/body soap. So if you think you will have the typical rental amenities, you are wrong. But there are plenty of towels. At the high price point, it was surprisingly stingy. We really enjoyed the hot tub!! It is clean and relaxing. Also nice rocking chairs on back porch. Less than ten minute drive to Bryson City.

Nothing worked...
I was informed ahead of time that there would be no TV due to an issue with the satellite dish. When we arrived the temperature in the hot tub was 72. I own a hot tub so I'm aware it takes some time for it to warm up. My wife and I headed out Saturday morning and when we came back we were really looking forward to soaking in the hot tub. It was still too cold - it was 82.
We simply decided to leave. My wife and I take short trips like this all the time and this is the 1st time we have ever left early due to accommodation issues.
Would be nice if the property manager would offer some of our money back.
