I stayed here for one night and the staff were really helpful and pleasant and the rooms big, really comfy bed and very interesting design, mix of industrial (scaffold pole 4 poster and furniture) and vintage photography throughout with nice touches such as 100% wool blankets on the beds and individual large photographs in each room. Good size bathroom, with bath and shower.
No frills hotel, clean rooms but very very dull lighting with black walls and really spooky feeling overall. Apart from the reception and the bar area downstairs, nothing feels comfortable there. The lack of lights and the black walls kinda make you feel uncomfortable and that's not how you want to feel when you're on a vacation! The window in the room seemed to be so old and when I tried to open it the handle came off. The room pics on their page are far from what their rooms are. The pics obviously have been brightened up! No aircon No fridge No wardrobe One tiny light bulb in the ceiling Black walls Dull lighting The lift to the room can only accommodate one person+one luggage
I only stayed for one night, less than half a night actually. I had a 14-hour layover in Brussels so I decided to spend the night at a hotel. Location was good. It’s near the shopping district. Too bad, I didn’t get to enjoy it as the shops were closed early! I got room #1. That was cool. It was weird though that the room had 2 doors. I liked the decor. It’s probably not for everybody but I did love it. It’s artsy. Probably too dark though sometimes. The staff were very friendly. They didn’t have an adapter for US issued charges but the concierge was nice enough to lend me his own. Good recommendation for restaurant, too. Overall, I would stay here again when I come back to Brussels.
I have travelled a lot. I love boutique hotels. Not this time. Elevator plus entire flight of very dark stairs to room. All walls, in staircase and room and ceilings painted black. Poor lighting. You can wash your hands while sitting on the toilet. Shower water goes cold intermittently. No place to unpack. Rod to hang short items only above desk and blocks window light. Need I on? Staff lovely, location ok.
Just back from a 2 night stay at the Zoom Hotel and had a fantastic time! Wonderful reception staff at all times of the day made us feel very welcome to Brussels. Clean, spacious room - only complaint is that the bathrooms could be doing with a few more amenities such as moisturiser or cotton wool buds/pads but no big issue! Segafredo espresso machine was a lovely touch as well as tea and biscuits also. Bed linens were crisp and clean and changed both days - plenty of towels also! Location is ideal - only a 10 minute walk up lovely Avenue Louise and a 20 second walk from the Stephanie tram stop! Lots of great places to eat nearby and great cocktail bars. As we checked out early on departure we could stow our luggage in the hotel until it was time to head to the airport - much appreciated! Cant comment on breakfast as we were there on a room only basis but it looked and smelled delicious on our way through the lobby each morning! Fantastic, well thought out design hotel whose service is as unique as its interiors! If we get the chance to be back in Brussels we will most definitely be returning to the Zoom Hotel.
Good location and price, but I have never before stayed at a hotel where lighting conditions in my room has been an issue. Room was very dark With minimal lighting, causing this to be an issue after dark. I reckon most People would have difficulties Reading a book in these conditions. The hotel has a camera/photograph theme, and the poor lighting conditions is probably because of this. I also asked for a late checkout, but the reception informed me that this would cost an extra €50 for a couple of hours. I considered this to be somewhat poor customer service.
This hotel had such polarizing reviews that I was still not sure about what to expect until I had actually checked in. Aesthetically speaking, every aspect of this hotel is Instagram perfect. It is new, clean, and beautiful. What you see posted on TA is what you get...and it's even better in person. The front desk service was very nice. He promptly checked me in and asked if I needed any information about the area. My room is an absolute delight. Considering that this is a boutique hotel, you get the coziness in addition to the uniqueness factor without sacrificing the comfort. The space is perfectly decorated and my double room feels spacious. The only improvement that I would note would be the bathroom amenities. Nuxe products are provided as a soap, but no conditioner or lotion. I knew about this ahead of time, so not an issue for me, but it's worth the mention. The bed may also be a little too firm for my preference, but it is feels Tempur-pedic quality. The biggest complaint that I had read was about the lack of AC. Given that I am here in October, this was not an issue. The room felt very comfortable. Noise may be an issue for some. In my 2nd floor room, traffic and outside conversations are noticeable, but not too intrusive. The 25 minute walk from the Grand Place was amazing with the Sablon area being my current favorite. The hotel is a block away from the "Rodeo Drive" of Brussels. I had booked this room at an amazing rate...which is usually a red flag. Now that I've checked in and experienced it personally, I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.
This place was absolutely amazing. Incredible value for money, a beautiful photography themed hotel, clean facilities, quiet street, and the most kind and caring staff. It's so close to the shopping district of Brussels and within walking distance of everything worth seeing. Honestly, all of Brussels is in walking distance so nothing is too far. The main Grand Place is about a 25 minute walk but you don't even feel it because the entire route is mesmerizing!
I have to admit I never wrote a review but in this case, I could not resist... For the first time I was extremely surprised with a hotel. The pictures where exactly as expected (actually even better) - the room was very clean, no cracked paint, no hidden unexpected surprises. I knew going in that there is no mini bar available and though I thought I would regret this (as for me it is important), the amazing "Segafredo" in room coffee machine totally made up for this (and much more). It is a basic hotel no doubt, but very unique style, great shower and amazing (optional) breakfast. The coffee/sitting room downstairs with a outside sitting area (weather permitting) was tastefully decorated (very "hip") and well stocked. The location is excellent (I know Brussels very well), with everything near-by- stores, restaurants etc even mini "Carrefour". Service too was excellent - polite, helpful etc. Can't say enough about this hotel. Hope they keep it up as I actually plan to stay there again! 5-stars Thank you "Zoom"
This charming hipster hotel might have started to show its age now, but it still offers a really warm welcome to those who are looking for something a little alternative and still want the comforts of a proper hotel. From the moment you into reception you are aware that this place is designed around the concept of urban photography. The little details around the place are cute. The accommodation is paired back and simple, but has everything you need if you're a tourist in town for a few nights. If you're looking for real luxury I'd suggest somewhere else. If you're looking for somewhere a little intriguing that this could be the place for you.
