Overall really good Staff were really friendly and helpful Would definitely stay here again. A little out of the city centre. Missed some items in my room but not essential. Breakfast good selection with plenty available.
Stayed here for 2 nights a little difficult to get to hotel as it sits about 80m inside the security zone of the European Parliament area and the day we arrived there was a meeting Not the fault of the hotel but would help if they emailed which street would allow access as we went round and round for about 45 minutes That to one side hotel is good staff attitude is excellent rooms are good and breakfast also good Some cafes in the newer area close by but also did discover another area on the other side of Leopold gardens on our last day Would assist if hotel had details of cafes etc for guest info Metro is close by and also if staying on the weekend hotel participates on free walking tour which is very very good Overall a most enjoyable stay
Stayed here for 2 nights, spending 60000 reward point for effectively a free room only stay. This was a break with my wife to come and watch the Rugby (Belgium v Germany) on the Saturday. We stayed Friday and Saturday nights. Due to travel issues we arrived later Friday evening, however the hotel was easy to find from Schuman Metro/Raul station. We just checked in and went to be to our large and comfortable room. Rooms had bath and shower, large bed, although a double I don’t understand the 2 single duvet thing in Europe, TV with many international channels, a mini bar and tea/coffee facilities. The hotel is in the Schuman district, so is quite quiet at the weekend as it’s a business district really, but we felt safe enough. The hotel serves breakfast, although we didn’t indulge and had a decent bar (with the daily mystery beer challenge) and also has good friendly staff. A specially mention to Besim who was always helpful and cheerful. All in all a good stay and we would happily use again, even if we have to pay!
Coming towards Brussels from the east, accessing this hotel is not too hard with it only being slightly off the main road followed by a large roundabout (look for a small shell garage at the top of the road). I would not exactly say that this is the most prestigious looking hotel I have ever stayed at when looking from the outside but it certainly fits the bill on the inside. Reception staff were excellent, helpful and friendly with both check-in and out being exceptionally quick and painless. The restaurant (although combined with the bar and quite small) staff and actual food were good, prices we found to be average. Breakfast was also of an excellent standard with cooked and continental alternatives being available and continually refreshed. Proximity to public transport / metro stations was also pretty good - so long as there is not an EU summit going on when the closest metro station (Schuman) will always be closed and no parking will be allowed anywhere near the hotel ! Do not expect a room-with-a view at this hotel, but bearing in mind where you are this is only to be expected really. You are just down the road from the EU commission and a short walk to the the Cinquantenaire park and Arc de Triomphe. The pillows in our room were not too good (too long and narrow), if there are alternatives (I may have missed this) that would be good; also the sheet did not appear to fit the bed very well and became quite annoying. Noise levels outside our room were occasionally high both from staff (from about 0800) as well as other clientele. Wi-Fi was of a good speed and fully available throughout our stay with no problems; other facilities in the room included a fridge with mini-bar, a room safe and iron/ironing board. The room cleanliness was ok but despite this the levels of dust were very high. You also have tea and coffee making facilities with sugar but there was no creamer provided, despite asking for some, this never arrived. The prices asked for parking overnight (weekdays) I feel were a little excessive, the weekend rates however are not so bad. On a first-come, first-served basis there are only 6 or 7 spaces available in underground parking (access immediately next door to the hotel) and be ready for it to be a little tight, take your time. It was not a problem leaving the car there for a few hours on our last day post checking out – a nice touch.
It's really the minimum. Anyway: good position and clean. The restaurant is actually a smal bar. There is pratically nothing serious to eat. The room is clean but there is just the minimum to be considered accebtable. The same for the breakfast.
Good hotel, nothing to complain. Clean and spacious enough rooms, friendly staff. Metro stop was nearby, from which you’re also able to go to the airport. Breakfast offered quite wide variety of foods.
We drove into Brussels from Wurzburg Germany during an epic snow storm that shut down flights out of BRU airport. The one thing I learned about hotels in the city of Brussels, is that parking is at a premium....if available at all. Since rooms were filling fast, with the airlines buying every room within miles, our choices were limited. We would arrive at a hotel, only to find out that there was no where to park. There are parking garages in the city.....but not particularly near the hotel. This Holiday Inn is an oasis in the middle of the madness. We called the Holiday Inn and the front desk promised us parking on the street in front, even as the hotel was full,...... as we booked the last available room. Promise kept,....We parked on the street, right in front of the entrance. The hotel has a limited menu restaurant and a small bar area. They were understaffed,...... due to the horrible weather. What little staff they did have, they did their absolute best to accommodate everyone. They did a great job...... The rooms are very nice and modern. It was very quite and the beds very comfortable. This place is newer, fresh and clean......It was he nicest of the "chain" brand hotels I've stayed in. In warmer weather......The large park, one block over, would be a must to visit. I'd say it's conveniently located.....with access to the metro nearby. Getting to the airport in the morning was not difficult at all..........
Close to the EC district and all the meeting venues, this is a clean and agreeable place for a short business stay. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was average at best. Location means Ill use it again.
Small hotel. Bed rises in the middle and dips to the sides so you end up at the edge of the bed. Room not serviced and difficulty in getting it serviced. Highlight was the service ladies at breakfast- they were lovely.
The Holiday Inn Brussels Shuman is a good alternative if you have to stay in Brussels for some work in relation to the EU institutions. It is at the epicentre, close to the Commission, Council and EEAS - whichever is your pick. It is also near the public transport (including the Airport bus, the cheapest connection between the city and the airport). Convenience stores and restaurants (although better for lunch options than dinner) are a plenty in the vicinity. The rooms are small, but convenient. The bathroom was small but the toiletries were of a better quality than expected. I was also very lucky to have a room with a balcony (there are only 4 such rooms in the hotel, so better ask for it especially) at the back.
