Brussels Marriott Hotel Grand Place

Pros: clean and good location Cons: did not get the room we booked and staff needs to get their act together. Could be loud neighrhood at night. We stayed in this hotel for one night. We booked a family suite because we were traveling with our two children. Our flights were severely delayed, which caused us to get to the hotel at midnight. There was a huge middle eastern wedding going on with roudy children and adults all over the common areas. However, we were assured that our suite will be quiet. It took the staff a few tries to give us working keys to the room. When we arrived the room turned out to be a small standard room with two full beds. When we went back to the check in staff we were told that we have two adjoining rooms, but they forgot to give us the key. Again the first could of tried we were given dead keys. In the end we got rooms different from the description and had to go through hassle to get even that. In addition there is a club or all night bar next door. All night we heard drunk people yelling. In the morning we walked over to Manikin Pis where we witnessed drunk kids pour yellow paint over the statue.

Nice and clean hotel just a short walking distance to the city center. Friendly staff.

We stayed for over a week while on location. Room was comfortable, quiet and clean. Location is great - only a few blocks from the Grand Plac and right by the subway stop. Easy access to everything. Uber also works great in a pinch.

I would to say that all staff at the front office are outstanding, helpful, and very professional in their interactions with the hotel guests. I checked in on Saturday June 18, 2016 the young man at the front office was extremely helpful, patient, and very courteous.

Hotel is in a great location with a great staff. Highly recommended!

The hotel is in a great location. Very convenient to all of attractions.

Location was prefect. Walking distance to many local bars and also to the grand palace. Great shopping in the nearby main square including many amazing chocolatiers. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. Wished wifi was free in rooms, but you can get it or free in the lobby.

Location, location, location! It can't be any better than the location of this hotel. Close to all the places to see and the metro. Very helpful staff.

Excellent in all ways -- great location to all attractions -- only negative, many beggars around the Bourse metro one block away, but perhaps the price you pay to be so close to everything. Hotel security excellent though.

Very nice, we took this room with an offer (which made the original price a lot cheaper) so I can only say our experience was great. Huge hotel in the middle of the center, big clean rooms, with super friendly and professional staff.

Very nice hotel. The staff was excellent. They were extremely attentive to our needs and helped with directions, arranging taxis, recommending restaurants, etc. The location was very good, accessible to the subway and the main plaza.

Hotel is situated close to the Grand Place and there is a Metro stop right out in front. Staff was very friendly and informative. The only problem I had was a lack of parking during check in at the hotel.

Excellent location. Could here the street sounds clearly from our room, so not the quietest hotel. But you cannot beat the location.

I came in for an overnight stay to meet friends who were in town that week and also staying at this hotel. My check-in was easy and the staff was quite pleasant. I was persuaded to pay an extra 49 euro for one night, for which I was to get internet access, executive lounge access, and breakfast the next morning. While that would seem to have been a good deal, in real life it did not work out so well. My friends who had been staying there all week were on the quiet side of the hotel; I was put on the noisy side, with people partying and yelling quite literally all night right below, meaning I got little sleep. My big mistake, though, was going to the restaurant for breakfast instead of the executive lounge as apparently I was supposed to do. For that mistake I was charged an additional 50 euro - for a waffle and coffee for me and a piece of bread and cheese for my partner. At check-out the desk clerk was deeply unsympathetic, although at least pleasantly so. Marriott's tact appeared to be to maximize the amount I spent for one night there, rather than worrying about repeat business.

perfect location to see the sites. Breakfast was not that great.

Best location in Brussels, walking distance the train station and restaurants

The trip to Brussels was near perfect (weather a bit cool the first day). The Marriott was centrally located and all the old city venues were within walking distance. And there was an annual free jazz festival at several locations including the Grand Place with a big sound stage. Lots of reasonably priced restaurants, including many Asian restaurants (Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese) and many traditional european restaurants. Many people speak english. I advise staying in the Grand Place locale if possible.

We spent the spring break in France, Belgium and Netherlands. We chose Marriott due its proximity to Grand Palace [...]
