We had a great stay. Motel extremely comfortable, clean and very central to town. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was included. Restaurant was great, with very good meals. Would definitely recommend this Motel.
Great stay. Motel is well set up and extremely tidy. Although in main street the motel is extremely quite. The rooms are excellent and the beds extremely comfortable. Staff are very friendly and the Chef is a God Sloane at front reception is extremely lovely :)
Ticks most of the boxes - friendly and efficient staff, nice rooms with comfy bed and good bathroom/hot water, excellent restaurant. The only advice I can give is that parking is not allocated and a bit tight, so try not to arrive too late. Otherwise, a great stay.
Older motel but clean and tidy. 2 minute easy walking distance to town. Room was big with air-conditioning and tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was included and the food was very good. There is also an onsite restaurant which also had very good food and service. Manager was extremely helpful and friendly - nothing was too much to ask. Would definately recommend.
Soon as I arrived the gentleman at front counter made me feel welcome and organised early check in. Easily walk to main CBD for anything required. Very comfortable and well appointed refitted rooms. Had the lamb shanks from onsite restaurant and melt in my mouth. Definitely the place to stay for me in Broken Hill.
Thank you to Andrew for making our impromptu visit to Broken Hill less hassle free than it may have been. After travelling through the outback it was great to have a clean and comfortable place to stay while our car was fixed.
We had a very comfortable stay at the Ibis. It was value for money with a continental breakfast included. The food and service at the restaurant were good. The staff were very helpful about what to do in Broken Hill The motel was well located so it was possible to walk to attractions and cafes.
Here is what you get...42 rooms. I had the privilege to enjoy a tight Japanese capsule style of accommodation, or it felt like it. Wow! Slim down before booking here. Don't bring your cat because believe me there is nowhere to swing it in this oasis. Enjoy pathetic BS wifi with a nightmare login that must frustrate most people. Yes! it was mentioned at reception that Apple phones work better with the hotel's system, and yes I soon fixed it. Sorry to tell you but Android is around as well. Let alone Linux and Windows. The point is it is 2017. Fix it. This hotel had the worst system overall. You shouldn't have to be a tech head to logon. All other places I stayed with on this trip had far superior setups. So here at the Ibis my wife wanted to logon to Facebook. Gosh! even she should be able to achieve that. But sadly not. " Oh!" she tells me. " You have to become an Accor member to have free wifi." Ah! Just what I need is an argument on arrival. After a long drive. Thoughtful customer service to the rescue. The mere fact that when I was an Accor member years ago, every time I came to pay there was always a problem on departure. Because if buffet brekky was included etc in the package, and confirmed by them, they always wanted to charge me for it. This occurred at 2 different Accor hotels but there was always the same high drama. Lucky I always printed out the emails even in those days to ensure idiocy was minimised. So no! I was not interested. However the manager was insistent that If I do not register with Accor then I will have to pay for wifi. In response I told him that this was never the case at other Ibis Styles locations I have stayed at. I also emphasise that No wifi conditions were ever mentioned in my direct booking. Free means free. I am not talking of data limits. Absolutely no registration conditions have ever been mentioned. I have phoned Broken Hill twice, looked at their own hotel website, and checked their confirmation email. Zero. I also advise him that if he is going to scam me with head office speak, then I will return the favour here. My pain will be his pain is the path I shall choose. No! No! None of my advocacy or venomous looks will slay or sway him out of Accor limbo. However he finally logs my email name into the hotel computer, so I don't have to fill out any forms. And here in part is a return email from these buffoons. " Both in daily life and while on holiday, it’s the small things that count. From now on, we commit to making each of your stays a memorable moment." Working for me. Actions speaking louder than words?????????? I go to their webpage again. Anything that I missed. I am not perfect but it appears I am not quite Ze Dill either because nothing is mentioned, click around it...but absolutely zero conditions for wifi. So l I took a screenshot as backup. Nor do I see anything on this Tripadvisor page here. ::: Next....the Joke parking. Generally speaking there is enough to contend with in travelling to Broken Hill, avoiding the wildlife including swooping crows, wandering goats, sheep and cattle, plus emus, kangas and wombats. Surely I can have security while parked. Would I dare rent a car and stay here for even more drama? Because damage and rent a cars usually bode a diminished wallet. I mean, when they stuffed all those rooms on a tiny site in a remote country town, they probably forgot about how many guests have outrageously big 4 wheel drives with wide opening doors. And the price of land there must be enormous, so that must be why I get micro maneuverability in their car park, let alone allocated parking. The last thing I need in the morning is viewing damaged bodywork. ::::: Credit card fees. Nowhere on the Ibis confirmation email is a Visa fee mentioned. Or again is it referred to by reception on booking. Never been hit with that anywhere else. Or at other Ibis locations. And certainly not on this trip. I understand business. I also understand clarity. I know what upfront means but I also understand the word deceptive. I rang Ibis once to get a price and book, and again because I did not receive a return confirmation email. I quoted Broken Hill reception all the search prices, but stated I preferred a direct booking at the same price package, because they are not hit with extra charges for online booking fees and I generally feel more secure that I will receive the accommodation I require. Plus at any places I stay I try and ring an hour ahead to tell them I am close to town. Ensuring that if there is a stuff up that it will be sorted out beforehand. Fair right? Smarter right? Thoughtful. Make it work. Once again there was no movement at the station at the hotel desk when I wished to pay the night before with my Visa and avoid the morning exit rush. At last after numerous arguments I paid with a Savings card. Therefore no extra charge. But again that is not the point. Having informed the manager of good business practice, mentioning Consumer Affairs NSW and the ACCC etc, again there was a fail...fail ...fail to get it. I thought of Roy Orbison singing Communication Breakdown. Playing it now. Man he must have stayed here. Telling it like it is. Mate. This ain't a little mum and pop store. This is a massive international hotel that should be on the up and up. Be current with customer expectations and consumer laws. There is an expectation that being in the industry 43 years, maybe just maybe management whether corporate or onsite can be flexible enough to DEAL with problems, not create them. Sorry to tell you that a contract has 2 parties to it. Truly think twice before booking here. Things can go awry with bookings. Evil happens. But I researched here on Trip Advisor... I did see parking mentioned, but honestly I thought it might be a little better than chaos country incorporated. I also researched on another forum about road conditions etc. Obviously the price here wasn't a factor. Because I thought that after such a long drive from Sydney through Wagga etc, and onwards that this chain might be a superior stopover for 2 nights. Especially after I had tried one of their other Styles sites and was happy enough to rebook Accor. Truly, save your pennies. If you are in need of dud corporate attitude, poor customer service, and slightly shady practices, book the Ibis and live the dream. Because all other motels on this trip trashed this place in terms of satisfaction. I am no Princess and the Pea type. I have been in the business and I accept that not everything works as planned. However I will not accept corporate ineptitude, and unwillingness to change. Stay far far away. Chris.
Booked a couple of rooms here and found them small and expensive. The service was good with friendly staff. Car parking is limited and parking vehicles on the main road is the norm. The room facilities are good.
The location was good as the town itself is interesting and worth investigating. The owners made our stay very comfortable and the room and the restaurant were excellent. We were pleasantly surprised at the professionalism shown.
