We had to cut our stay short after finding bed bugs in the mattress of the cowboy cabin. The host was responsive and handled our concern quickly, which we really appreciate, but unfortunately the presence of bed bugs made the stay unsanitary and impossible to continue. Good practice is to always check the mattress fully when staying in a rental/hotel.

Labor Day weekend

We had a great stay and were pleasantly surprised by some updates that weren’t shown in the photos, like the bigger TV, recliner, and futon in the living room, as well as the updated fire pit and grill. We didn’t use everything, but it was nice to see the improvements. The only thing we didn’t realize—unless we missed it—was that the TV in the bedroom only played DVDs from the provided DVD player and didn’t have Cable/Roku like the living room TV. It wasn’t a big deal in the end since we enjoyed watching together in the living room. Definitely recommend arriving during daylight as the place can be easily missed and is hard to find in the dark—it’s pitch black in the area. Overall, we had a great stay! The place was comfortable, in a great location, and just what we needed.

2024 Eclipse

We enjoyed the eclipse. The cabin was nice and fit our needs. Please ensure that anyone planning to stay in the loft is physically fit and able to get up and down the steep ladder.

Cowboy Cabin

It was a nice little place, but had a few issues. The main one was neither tv worked. The description said Direct TV was available with a DVD player. DirectTV wasn’t available and the tvs wouldn’t even show a picture. The remotes had batteries in them but they didn’t work. Just would have been nIce to see local tv. There were security lights outside but I don’t remember seeing them come on when we came back after dark. No hangers for clothes, so bring your own (which I did). The bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of blankets because the a/c in the bedroom gets really cold, which was a good thing. Some reviews said the traffic noise was bad because the cabin is right off the highway, but it didn’t really seem that noticeable. The porch swing was nice to sit on in the mornings. The location is great - near the golf course and not far from Beaver’s Bend State Park. The host was very quick to reply when I had questions. Oh, also, there wasn’t an iron or ironing board, so if you wanted to go somewhere and not have wrinkled clothes, you might want to bring a little iron. Overall, it was a great place for a last minute getaway.

Nice place just needs a little help.

The place was adequate for or needs. It is a cute little cabin. The problems we encountered was as we walked in my wife smelled mold. She is very health conscious so she noticed right away. Also the cabin was covered with sugar ants. They were everywhere. We contacted the manager and he said just spray them with ant spray. There were way too many for that. We had a great time and enjoyed the stay we just had to deal with the inconvenience.

Great for family.

Everything was great. Only downside is that it’s right on a busy highway, so mornings and evenings on the porch and by the fire we’re not as quiet as we would have liked. But, it was close to a lot of good activities for the whole family.

Weekend Getaway

My husband and I traveled to Broken Bow for the first time and stayed in the Cowboy Cabin. It was very nice for the 2 of us. There is a loft, but didn't have a need for it. Loved the porch swing. Very easy to get to, but if you are trying to find after dark, be aware that it is the first cabin on the left right after you turn onto Timbercreek from 259. The cabin isn't lit up at night, so we missed it on the way in and had to come back. Since the cabin does sit right off of 259, the traffic can be loud, but the bedroom is at the back of the cabin, so sleeping wasn't a problem. The wifi connected, but it said it didn't have internet. It was ok because we decided the weekend was for us to unplug. Overall it was a very nice stay.

Came in with the A/C out but property owners went above and beyond to get it fixed quickly. Vrbo does advertise being a bigger cabin than it actually is all in all it was a nice place to stay just really tight quarters

In the description it said that there were 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms but when we go there there was only 1 room and 1 bathroom and the half room upstairs. In the half room you get no air so it’s so hot and there is a lot of ants everywhere in the cabin.

Cute cabin but bad location

Lovely cabin, clean and beautiful inside. Very well maintained cabin. Great service. Simple and easy check up/out process. It has everything you need like living in the hotel room. However the location not ideal, it is located right off the highway. You hear the loud semi trucks passing by even before the sun comes up. At night is very quiet though.

Cozy cabin!

This cabin was clean and ready to get to. The shower is short, requiring bending over to wash hair even if you are 5' 2", but the water is nice and powerful. The internet is as slow as you should expect in a small town. The kitchen was nicely equipped. The recliner in the den is very comfortable. Broken Bow in the fall is gorgeous! We had a great time!
