Great weekend
We had a wonderful weekend staying at Summer Hayes. It was perfect for meeting up with friends and plenty of walks nearby. Childswickham has a lovely pub and the food was excellent.
Cottage was clean and we were lucky enough to have such good weather to enjoy the garden.
We stayed for a week, very satisfied. It's a nice cottage, especially loved the sunroom. The kitchen has all you need. It's close to Broadway with shops and restaurants, but you'll need a car. Warmly recommended.
We had an amazing time, cosy, clean and close to super facilities and locations. Enjoyed time visiting Broadway, Broadway Tower, Chipping Camden and taking the steam train to Cheltenham racecourse and back. Plus .....the beautiful Childswickham Brasserie and Bar was a great location for a birthday meal and Sunday lunch.
Cottage was as photos - clean and quick reply from host - not that there was an issue. Many thanks.

A week in cotswold
We stayed a week here, the house had everything you would need for the stay, the kitchen had all the utensils needed, although the Aga took some getting use to. Upstairs bedrooms were a good size, the biggest "But" I have is the smaller of the double room Upstairs desperately needs a new mattress my back was in pieces by the end of the week ( and no the other guests would not swap) or a new mattress topper.

Delightful cottage in the heart of the Cotswolds
We spent a long weekend in this delightful cottage that sits on the very outskirts of Broadway. The cottage was warm, clean and tidy and was surprisingly large inside thanks in part to an extensive rear extension. Everything you needed was provided including cookies, a bottle of milk and a bottle of wine! These small things make such a difference and they were very well received. The beds were comfortable and the shower was very effective and easy to use. The cottage was within walking distance of an excellent pub and restaurant that gave us a warm welcome and served some excellent food.

Cozy and Full of Charm
The cottage was delightful and fully equipped to cover all our needs. The AGA stove was a great addition to the kitchen.
The comfort of the beds was the only thing that we found an issue with. The master bed was extremely noisy (creaking every time we moved) and the small double bed downstairs only had a 2 inch memory foam mattress which was not deep enough to protect from the wooden spars on the bed base.
Overall the property was delightful.

A quint stay
This is a beautifully decorated house, with a nice, cosy conservatory, where we had breakfast throughout the stay. The master room and the upper bedrooms are big and very tastefully decorated. The common bath on this floor is small but clean and sufficient.
The third bedroom on the ground floor is small ( for 1 person) and is attached with a powder room but with shower.
The kitchen is fully equipped.
The house is located in a peaceful lane ,& one can visit one of the best restaurants ( Broadway Brasserie),by a short walk.
In all one of the best experiences.

Feedback
Beautiful property and like Pandora’s box inside. Very deceptive from outside.
Very peaceful.
Everything you could wish for.
A little more detail with cleanliness would be better.( Had to wash all cutlery and clean out the drawer as dirty and full of crumbs).
Wanted to mop floor as had a dog but no mop bucket or head only the handle.
Would recommend though.

Bank holiday stay
Overall we enjoyed our stay at the cottage, but we thought the cottage was a little ‘tired’! It could do with a little attention and a good clean. Generally the cleanliness was ok but could have been better.
The back garden was very unkept, in need of attention. One evening we did get chance to sit out on the sun but weeds screamed at us to tidy them up, which we ended up doing.
The cottage is in a great location for touring Broadway (just about walking distance) and the surrounding area.

Never again
This is the worse and most expensive holiday cottage we have ever rented. Uncomfortable beds and the one in the main bedroom creaks so much it woke us up every time one of us turned over.
There is no point in the dishwasher as the kitchen has so little crockery you have to wash up all the time of there is no crockery for the next meal.
The wardrobe in the second bedroom upstairs was full of linen and towels leaving no space for anything else to go in there and there are no drawers either, meaning no where to put your belongings.
There is no shower mat in the upstairs bathroom and the one in the downstairs shower room is really mouldy!
Cobwebs every where, I 'm surprised Stay Cotswold have this place on their books, not up to standard
We really enjoyed our stay at Summer Hayes. It was comfortable and we loved the exposed stone and the outdoor space. It's a perfect location to explore the northern Cotswolds. A nice pub we could walk to, walk to Broadway if we wanted, the public footpaths were everywhere! It took us a little while to get used to the locking mechanism on the front door. Also please note, the washer is also the dryer and it is very small and takes a really long time to complete a load. It was not practical for a family of 4. And too, the dishwasher does not clean the dishes, so we did them all by hand.

Quirky cottage in a quiet village
Warm and cosy cottage in a quiet little village a couple of miles from Broadway. Quirky accommodation but comfortable and adequate for our needs - 2 adults, two children and a dog. Lots of loose wires in the lounge and bedrooms which need to be sorted out. Some door hooks or a coat stand would be useful as there was nowhere to hang coats so we had to leave them on the sofa. Lots of bedding stored in the wardrobe in one of the bedrooms so not much space to keep you clothes.

All was very good in the end.
We had a few issues with our stay. Fair to say, some were outside the control of both Stay Cotswold and the property owner. The customer service was totally excellent though, both while we were there and since we got home - a really first class fast response. I made a detailed report of what went wrong, and have received a very charming email back from the owner by return. He is very much on the case and has pulled out the stops to make amends. There are a few negative comments on previous reviews, some of which reflect what we experienced - but I have full confidence that the situation is being rectified with immediate effect and all will be well for future guests.
Summer Hayes is such a lovely cottage, in a beautiful position and so well placed for visiting the Cotswolds. Have no hesitation, book it. Plenty of space for 5 and a dog or two. The ground floor bedroom and powder room was particularly appreciated by one of our party who is waiting for a new hip! Two showers very much appreciated, and the conservatory is a lovely space to dine.

Cottage was spacious for 5 people and had nice outside area.
Couple of negatives...there is an aga in kitchen which has to be on all the time making it very hot.
Electrics all went off on Friday night, difficult getting in touch initially with management company(not answering phone number provided ..had to email but this was not provided in welcoming text eventually did late Sat am who arranged electrician who came out sat afternoon and fixed faulty electrics.Lost food in fridge and had workmen around when trying to get ready to go out so not ideal but at least problem was fixed

Lovely area for a Christmas break
The location and cottage are lovely and we enjoyed our stay. In particular the local pub and walks were perfect. It was disappointing and a first for us to be in a cottage for Christmas with no tree or Christmas decoration to welcome us. We purchased some lights and decorations and this was all good.
Our lower scores are for cleanliness and condition of the property. The cleaning was poor, in particular downstairs and we needed to do cleaning ourselves e.g. utensils before use and furniture in lounge. This was not helped by the property being tired and some aspects needing refreshing / tidying e.g. lots of electricity leads hanging down and no lighting on stairs, and lots of rubbish in wardrobes. Sadly these were all avoidable things that would stop us coming back or recommending the property, and they stop the property from being amazing.

A lovely place to stay
We had a lovely 2 night stay. Summer Hayes is a well presented property, fitted with everything you need for a short break. Plenty of toilet rolls and towels - a sign of a generous host! The location is perfect for a Cotswolds visit, not far from the high street so you can get food etc. The only drawback was the bed in the master bedroom. The bedframe was extremely creaky! I didn't sleep well for the 2 night stay only due to the fact the bed creaked ever so loudly even when I moved slightly; and this could be heard from the second bedroom. The mattress was also not firm and could do with replacing. I would give 5 stars for comfort if it hadn't been so creaky and if the mattress had not been very soft, which led to backache. We didn't use the third bedroom, as it was downstairs past the kitchen and my young daughters didn't want to be that far away from us so they all bunked in together in the second bedroom upstairs. Aside from the bed issue this is very lovely property which caters for all your needs. Its very well maintained and cleaned spotlessly. It's within a short driving distance of Sudeley Castle and also Broadway Tower. Take out the bed and its a 5star property, which I would recommend.

Good Location for us
We had a pleasant stay in Summer Hayes and the location was perfect for us.
When we were there, the weather was quite cold with frosts at night. The heating in the cottage was more than adequate except for the small downstairs bedroom which was cold. This was not a problem as there was only two of us so we rarely went into that room. On the whole the central heating was good and the little electric “log-burner” stove was very efficient.
Positives: Great location, cosy and warm, spacious kitchen, plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses etc. which was good as we had invited three friends for dinner, so we didn’t have to wash up plates half way through the meal. A comfortable bed (we only used the master), good shower plus, our bedlinen and towels were changed half way through our stay.
Negatives: Although there was a decent washing machine/dryer, the outside line didn’t work and there was no other means of hanging cloths to dry. Also, no instruction manual for the washing machine. There were two Nespresso coffee machines. One ‘Vertuo’ which was on the counter and an ordinary Nespresso machine in the cupboard. We couldn’t find the capsules for the ‘Vertuo’ (we tried Tesco, Morrison’s and M&S) and the machine in the cupboard was very dirty. Perhaps a couple of days’ worth of capsules could have been provided to make it easier to buy the correct ones. As it was, we abandoned the coffee machines and had to use instant. The saucepans and frying pans were limited and ‘tired’ (loose handle on one of the frying pans).
None of this spoilt our stay, but it would have taken it up to a different level had these niggles been corrected.
Just a note to take into account. The pictures of the living room on the website show two white, smart sofas and an easy chair. What was actually there were three small black sofas, which although not uncomfortable, they weren’t great.

Very Quirky but generally clean
One of the reasons for booking Summer Hayes was that it had a downstairs bedroom with toilet and shower for one of our party. This was fine and very useful.
The location, only a couple of miles away from Broadway was fine.
The décor was "Quirky" with a mixed theme. Not sure if it was African or Victorian.
The kitchen was very modern and well fitted out although a few more items of crockery would have been useful.
Downstairs some of the furniture was well past its sell by date. We were informed that some of this was shortly to be replaced. We were unable to get the Smart TV to work. We were concerned that some of the wiring may not pass a safety test as a cable was running under the front door mat . We would not recommend this should you have small children. To may sharp corners, ornament and wires.
Upstairs was somewhat odd but clean with a toilet and shower serving the two room. This was fine but the addition of a shower mat for safety should be fitted. A hair dryer would have been helpful for upstairs. Clothes hanging space was limited.
The details stated that there was a BBQ in the Garden. This was a rusty peace of metal. No way would we use it. The garden needed the hedge cutting and basically clearing up.
Excellent restaurant only 300 meters away and adjoining neighbour's and opposite very pleasant and helpful.
You ask below if we would recommend it? The answer would be No. However if the items that we mention were rectified the answer would be yes.
