The apartment was ok, needs updating and kitchen utensils replacing as plastic was melted on 2 of the utensils. The shower was very hot and could not control the water temp. We found it to be very noisy with the traffic 24/7 and work site opposite starting work at 5 am. The apartment is central to everything and a supermarket just next door which was good.Pool was closed and notice said it would re open before we departed but never did which was a shame.
Very good appartments. Excellent location. Great appartments central location. Staff were just ok and had an extra cost per day for parking. Otherwise very happy. Groceries, chemist and takeaways at ground floor.
The location is great, especially if you don't have your own transport. Walking distance to the Central Train Station, the city and the river front. The only downers were we were in room 606 which is directly above the pool area so we heard the spa going on and off at all hours and the Ambulance station is on that side of the building so sirens go at all hours of the night. The actual room facilities are perfect and the apartments are very spacious and affordable. We will visit again
Stayed for a full year in this building, Great service by management. Apartment with balcony facing Woolworths is very sunny in the winter, makes it nice and warm. A few steps down the road to Woolworths, a large department store. A few miinutes walk to the city, and a few minutes to Chinatown for Chinese stores and Indian spice stores. All you could ask for. A perfect location and a great building.
Our 2 bedroom appt on 18th floor was clean and tidy, comfortable beds, all kitchen utensils & cooking facilities available as well as washing machine & dryer. Sofa & single chair were well worn , therefore uncomfortable. The appartments are in a convenient location with a small shopping centre attached, close to Queen Street shopping and river area. The only negative about the location was it was close to an ambulance station and sirens could be heard at all hours. Limited internet was given on checkin which quickly ran out after 2 days and parking was an additional $20/day. I did notice on checkout a sign in office stating if you book direct parking & unlimited internet were free.
Rented a 2 bedroom apartment with Hubby, My Mom and 9 month old baby. Pictures on the internet are not a trie representation of the actual rooms. The place is in desperate need of a renovation. Walls need painting, bathrooms are dingy, carpets are gross. Would not stay again.
We had a two bed, two bathroom apartment. Bathrooms were spacious, had the necessary items. Double bed was not too lumpy. There were enough hangers and storage space for our luggage. The kitchen was supplied with the essential pot/pans/utensils/plates. However, no cooking oils/pepper/salt. There were dish clothes. No odour. There is a balcony, that has a glace "fence". So it is suitable for children. It was about a 10 min walk down to CBD. We never took the bus in Brisbane and just walked everywhere. Taxi to/from airport was about $40.
We have stayed in The Republic Apartments many times over the last year for business and pleasure. Lovely clean rooms with spacious balconies. Great spot within walking distance of China town and the CBD. Heated pool and spa that the kids love. Very quiet complex and helpful, pleasant staff. Shopping complex next door with a supermarket, bottle shop and chemist. We always have a pleasant stay.
We loved this accomodation for the following reasons 1. Security- you must use fob key for entry everywhere. Front doors always locked 2. Clean and spacious 3. Self contained apartments are well appointed with full size fridge. Our one bedroom apartment (606) had washing machine, dryer, 4 burner stove and dishwasher 4. Foxtel channels - some movie channels no extra cost 5. Wifi- free allocation 6. Seperate bedroom, kitchen and lounge/dining with dining table and 4 chairs 7. Very close to mall, Wickham terrace, riverside, central train station 8. There is a Woolworths, chemist, liquor store right next door 9. Staff very accomodating - advised by staff to book through them directly as they can include parking as opposed to booking online& they usually match online prices 10. Heated saltwater pool 11. Garbage chutes on each floor 12. Large balcony with outdoor table where smoking is permitted Suggestions if you are staying. 1. Car park entry is off Ruff St ( on your right hand side off turbot st) Enter Ruff st and immediately on your left hand side there is a carpark entry . Press the office buzzer where you can enter safely and park in visitor bays whilst checking in. The prices reflect clean, modern and tidy accomodation. I cannot believe there is a comment on this review page suggesting this accomodation is overpriced!!! We got a 1 bedroom apartment for $125 night. I'm not sure where in central Brisbane CBD you could match quality, security and location. Thanks Republic, for a great stay. See you next time!
Our family of 2 adults and 2 kids recently stayed in a 2 bed apartment here. Whilst the size of the apartment and location were both excellent, we were left feeling quite disappointed considering the price we paid to stay here. Our general gripe was the state of the apartment. Grubby carpets, paint chipping off walls, a kitchen cupboard door literally hanging off. We felt we paid a premium price for a non premium apartment. We were disappointed to see no aircon in the bedrooms. There was one aircon unit in the living room but it wasn't good enough to chill the whole apartment down. Both bedrooms did have ceiling fans but unfortunately the one in the master bedroom only worked on the lowest speed. The over bath shower was also a problem. I'm only of an average height, but despite the shower being as high as it could go, I couldn't stand under it. Poor design. The water temperate was also a problem. Either scalding hot or cold, couldn't find a happy medium at all. When I did think I'd got a good temperature all of a sudden it would change and I'd get burnt. Pretty dangerous really. We stayed for 5 nights and was disappointed to be told the apartment wouldn't be serviced at all in that time. Another example of the premium price for a basic service. We loved the pool area, as did our kids. And also had no problems at all with traffic noise as some other reviews have stated. Maybe if we could guarentee a better apartment next time we'd go back, otherwise I think we'd choose somewhere different.
