We checked into the Mercure Brisbane, the gentleman with the glasses was so rude and obnoxious that it was like we checked into faulty towers. When we arrived in our room we had two double beds, we requested mattresses toppers this wasn’t done, the aircon didn’t work at all, when I rang reception to get some more towels the same person who checked us in told me that I would have to come and get the towels myself very bluntly. I then asked about the aircon as it was set on 16, then to be told have I checked it wasn’t on heating or if I actually turned it on. When I responded to his questions, he said he would try and get someone to come up, then hung up. A young gentleman arrived checked that I had turned it on and offered to move us to a lower standard room with only a single beds, we declined as we were too tied to move. We rang reception the next morning and spoke to a manager who was lovely and moved us into a new room where the aircon did work, mattress toppers were provided and had offered complimentary breakfast. As for the gentleman on reception the night we checked in, he was downright rude and arrogant, in all the time I have spent in hotels this has to be the first time I have had to deal with such appalling service and behaviour. We witnessed him belittling another guest before we checked in. His attitude will stop me from staying or recommending this hotel. I wish I had read the previous reviews, I would of reconsidered booking with Mercure Brisbane.

We stayed at the Mercure for a mini-vacation in Brisbane and were very impressed by the friendly and helpful staff. The accommodation is clean, neat and quiet (considering it is above the riverside expressway). Wifi was great too.

We stayed here for a couple of nights and Brisbane is a hot place and the main thing you need above anything else is effective air conditioning. This place didn't have it. The room was really warm - I'd estimate around 26 degrees for our stay, despite us setting the air conditioning to 16 degrees in an attempt to cool the place down. We did speak to maintenance and they checked it out and said there was nothing wrong with it. My Parents-in-Law were also staying there and had a similar issue. Despite most of the CBD in Brisbane having free wifi at around 40mbps, this establishment chooses to charge for it, despite the fact it's like 2mbps - certainly not to today's standards. This hotel needs to review it's policy and get with the times and have decent FREE internet. The room we had, looked like the bathroom had been refurbished recently. It was reasonably nice looking apart from the ceiling void in our room had been ripped out and put back very badly. The shower screen covered half of the available area so every time the shower was used, it soaked the floor making it slippery and dangerous. The style of the carpet in the reception area was awful - it looked like something dragged out of the 1980's and it took me a while to work out it was dye/pattern on it rather than trodden in dirt. The carpet was similar in the rooms. Cleanliness in the room was not the best I have seen - a bit dusty etc. There are plenty of places to stay in Brisbane and I'd suggest you look elsewhere.

Had a great stay. Can Mercure incorporate parking in its deals? $36 per day to park in the Mercure carpark was pretty steep. Some other Brisbane CBD hotels have free parking. The $1 breakfast deal was a bonus.

Whilst the hotel provides the basic necessities at a relatively low cost the lack of things such as an extracting fan in the bathroom, very minimal (if any) acoustic insulation in rooms and a very poor shower design detract from the positives which are largely the central location and nightly room rate. Refurbishments have been recently undertaken to the rooms and ground floor but the remaining areas of the hotel are in need of a refresh - corridors, pool area, facade etc. Parking is easy with a Secure car park adjoining although rates for guests through the hotel are may be considered high for some. Reception staff weren't incredibly helpful and could not tell me where the closest car hire location was and were hesitant to provide additional towels after those in the pool area had ran out.

Good location and a great dinning option for New Years Eve. Would stay again.Pedestrian access to car park is challenging.Busy on the night and the standard of service was good.View of the fireworks was awesome.

Booked 2 city view rooms for 1 night in early Dec 2017, supposed to be 1 x twin and 1 x queen, side by side rooms, on the same floor - did book and pay 3 months in advance - after arriving, finally got the same floor but both queen, with 1 room in the refurbished section, and 1 in the non-refurbished.. Okay, not the first time we haven't got what we paid for.. not a big deal.. some-one just didn't do their job.. Staff at reception were unfriendly, a little curt or maybe rude.. not one smile between them.. Pool was basic, and the water was freezing.. Beds were good, but only 2 pillows.. could have asked for more, but didn't bother.. View of the city was great from 1 room, but of a car park in the other. Buffet breakfast was okay - yoghurt and milks were too warm, bacon either burnt or raw, scrambled eggs only, array was quite messy and uninviting, not much upkeep.. Kind of unremarkable really - no vitality - no atmosphere - just somewhere to sleep.. Won't stay there again..

was a great deal for a last minute night away. Was very clean. Friendly staff, Very helpful. Buffet breakfast was the best, Lots of choice, fresh eggs/omelettes cooked to order Breakfast and parking included

Stayed here for two nights over New Years in a twin river view room. Booked through Accor as a member on a Red Hot Special so got a great room price as I am an Accor Plus member but what a shame about the parking cost. I also think the hotel charged more that the Secure Parking would have charged me so that is not good at all. As many others have mentioned re high parking cost I truly believe this needs to change and guests may rate this hotel higher. I did liaise via email re my booking to ensure my room allocation was correct however this did not help. I requested and was told I was allocated a twin river view room. It took a long long time for me to finally settle in my room. The duty manager tried his best and I was given special treatment from Nicole in the restaurant who is a huge asset to this hotel. Great room. Big. Comfy bed and pillows. Great views. Pool and sauna were lovely however some shade at the pool would be ideal. Loved the bar area and the food and drinks here. Huge thanks again to Nicole again. My sister who suffers bad sinus did comment that the room was quite fragrant. Thanks for an enjoyable stay after a rocky start😊

Loved everything about this hotel, honestly couldn’t find fault in anything. Lovely staff great room, amazing views. Room was cleaned to very high standard everyday If only all hotels were to this standard.
