I thought the bed was good, everything was clean, bathroom was modern, TV good if you speak French. Breakfast was really good: it's not your usual continental with eggs and meats, but has a very interesting selection of breads, pancakes, jams, yogurts incl bios, regular ham. I particularly liked the fresh orange juice maker as well as the fresh apple juice. Good selection of teas. I am used to continental breakfasts, but have really enjoyed this one, too. The minus: i thought itbwas quite noisy: i could hear the couple above as well as some random guy screaming in the middle of the night. Good if you have a deep sleep though. I thought value was good. Tram is 10 seconds away, but the area is not the best i would say: my friend and I were quite happy to be safe and sound inside the hotel at night after eating out. No restaurant onsite, so apart from breakfast, you need to eat out. They were good at keepimg our luggage, which we appreciated. Don't forget to ask for the coupns they have for some restaurants: we had lunch at a good pizzeria and were never told the hotel had a deal with them, after asking for recommendations.
I arrived to the smiling and welcoming face of Marie. She helped me figure out the bus lines and printed out a little extra map for me. Every hotel should have as competent and professional an employee. The madame ,who I took for the manager, was nearby and helped with my questions as well. So much for the good part. When i get to my room -#218 - its obvious that it is quite small but does include a bathroom. Iam ok with that from other european rooms and dont generally spend much time in the room anyway. Next i see i have no pillows - now the room is small but there is space for pillows! This situation was an obvious oversight and quickly pillows arrived. I set them against the headboard, sat down and the bed rolled away! Its on wheels and not attached to the headboard. Seemed odd but ok. The bed was quite comfortable even if mobile. By the way, not a single channel on tv in english. Next we head for the bathroom. It has been recently remodeled and very clean - as is the rest of the room. I really liked the lighting. But once again, size matters. Now iam a big fellow - 6'4" 275 lbs. - but it seems one should have adequate arm space to access the john! Barely enough room between the shower door and the wall. And now the shower!! Miniscule door space. Literally turning sideways i barely squeezed in and could not turnaround without hitting the water handle. I was concerned about breaking the door on the way out but fortuanetly being wet helped - but just a little! Later i asked the manager if all the rooms were like that and she said no! She should have changed my room the minute she saw me! She did then offer to change my room but i was there only one more night and i asked if there was a shower by the sauna. She happily said yes and added " a big one". I said i would use it and went to check it out. Oi vay!! No towels, no locker. Not even a bench to sit on to disrobe. Shower and sauna are coed with no privacy at all. Its starting to get silly. I didnt say anything more about it and as i left for the day asked that my room not be made up. I was only there two nights and prefer not to have chambermaid service. You guessed it - came back to find it had been made up. At breakfast, the ham and fruit trays were not replenished in a timely manner even though there were two attendants. I didnt wait around to see how long it would actually take. So there ya go. Hopefully the very nice manager will read this before you get there and make the necessary adjustments. They are all pretty minor. Keeping the small shower rooms for the small guests will go a long ways and use some underutilized space in the sauna area to make improvements and add a shower curtain. Get all the employees to be as attentive as Marie. Bolt down the bed and spring for SKY or CNN!! A jump to a very good rating is within easy reach. I should also reaffirm that the hotel is exceptionally clean and the price reasonable. The tram runs passed the front door for easy access to town. I may have been the one guest who had ALL the problems!! Hope so and hope you dont have any.
Hotel interior was modern and tidy; artsy details were catchy if one took the time to take a closer look. Breakfast was simple, but many sided and fresh. A fancy machine for fresh orange juice tempted to try. It was good! Free car park was provided nearby - a great bonus, but seemingly there were not at all meter spots for cars in the town :-) Our arrival happened after a heat surge and the room on the west side of the building (1st floor) was hot, as there was no air conditioning in the hotel ("we only have one week this hot a year, so it's not in general needed"). Opening the window helped, but the noise from the nearby rock bar was quite heavy when the bar closed. We are used to quietness and relative cool environment for sleeping. Discussion with the reception after the second night helped us to move to the third floor and other side of the building! It was magic. Our thanks are due to the helpful and friendly staff to save the rest of the stay. It was very nice stay, after all. Staying once again is quite possible, if the weather is not too hot.
Very nice hotel with a very friendly service! Stayed there 3 days for business. Clean, comfortable rooms. First rate breakfast with great buffet. Very friendly and always helpful service: book restaurant for you, complimentary drinks in the evening... To be recommended!
Stayed here for about a week for business purpose while workikng at the docks, and although my first impression wasn't the best I shortly changed my mind after staying there one night. The staff is extremely helpful and kind, rolms are refurbished and goodlooking, beds are among the most comfortable I have ever slept in in France, wifi coverage is excellent (used to go to the restaurants and bars across the street and stayed connected). There is also anhuge public car park two blocks away where you park for free. All in all, if you choose to stay you will not regret.
Chambre 134 en angle ! Grande lumineuse parfaite!
