AC Hotel Brescia by Marriott4.0 out of 5.0

the hotel is in a deserted industrial estate with nothing within walking distance for me, so i had to take a cab into town which was quite pricey, but the town itself was very nice, some nice restaurants, cathedrals, and squares. i just misjudged the distance. I struggled up to the castle up a very steep climb only to find that it was closed which was annoying and i had to call a cab to get back down. it was the first time i stayed in an AC hotel, and as one of the other reviews states, it's different to a full Marriott, no free breakfasts for gold members, very basic paid breakfast and absolutely against their rules to supply a kettle in the room. I did get a coffee machine only for tiny espressos, but it was specially built so that you could not get hot water from it if there is no coffee pod in it, which i thought was a bit extreme. Apart from that, the hotel was ok, but i probably wouldn't stay there again, mainly because of the location.
I stayed there alone for one week for work. The hotel location seems to be very isolated but actually, it's not the case at all: you'll arrive to the train station or in the city centre after 15 minutes of walk. There is a bar, a restaurant, a small fitness room with treadmills and a private parking, which costs 12 euros/day. The other option for car parking is a free parking just beside the hotel: I left my car there and had no issues. Moreover the area is videotaped For breakfast, nothing special; it was in the average of the hotel breakfasts in Italy (bread, brioches, cakes, fruits, yoghurt, ham, salami, cheese, etc.). The service at the bar was a bit slow because the waitress has to take care of the people in the restaurant at the same time. I ate once in the restaurant for dinner, the food was good and prices are in the average of the city restaurants. The room was big with a king size bed; Wi-Fi is free, there is a safe in the room and the TV had several non Italian speaking channels (English and French). The staff was really friendly, smiling and helpful; they gave me restaurant names and visits to do, they called taxis for me and they always tried to satisfy my requests. I paid 82 euros/night and even if I don't know the prices in the other hotels in Brescia, I don't think it was expensive regarding the quality of the accommodation. I would recommend it without any hesitation for business trips but I'm not sure that I would choose it for romantic holidays.
First time staying with the AC brand. For people used to staying with full service marriott’s you can certainly tell the difference. Designed for the minimalistic solo business traveller. No tea and coffee facilities in the room, no iron. No hotel information and the TV had only 3 channels in English. Breakfast was 3 hot items but a array of cakes and continental breads. Would not recommend for families. On a plus point the mall is within walking distance. The bus station and railway station are also within walking distance. We took a shuttle bus from bergamo airport to the brescia bus station and used this as a base to see 3 cities, Marcheno, Brescia and took a train from Brescia to Venice. Breakfast service was great. Front desk were hit and miss when I asked for room with a coffee machine was asked to pay 50 euros extra per night. Asked for a iron and board and this was handed to me to take up to my room. Location for exploring Northern Italy was great but only used as a base. Code was given for high speed internet which was free as a Marriott member as the basic wifi was too slow.
Stayed for 2 nights in December 2017 for business. Good location for reaching good restaurants with a 10-15 minute walk. Staff at reception desk are outstanding- very friendly, helpful, and professional.
Great choice for the business traveler, especially those seeking Marriott reward points. 1. Located an easy 10-15 minute walk to downtown plazas and shopping. Plenty of free parking. And, while not near the highway, easy access to major roadways. 2. Modern, clean, and relatively quiet. Has all the amenities but lacks the local charm. King beds are actually two twins pushed together (made as two beds with center divider). Great water pressure. 3, Breakfast is not included in many rates but mere $10/day. If rate is $10 or more to include, don’t bother upgrading. Buy just the days you plan to eat. Runners note... Brescia is very runner friendly. Streets are well lit. Hotel is convenient for a 5 mile loop in the early am.
I was only staying at this hotel for a night. This place was perfect business class hotel breakfast was included in the price was very inexpensive very good value. The room was perfect no complaints. What I loved about this hotel was the front desk. Enea was the man working the desk he was so happy and helpful and giving us things to do and places to eat. This man is a asset to the hotel made our stay so much more can say enough kinds words about him. I loved the castle that is near by free to visit. Would stay here again no problem.
Stayed here for a 2 night business trip, hotel was clean, modern, friendly. For my business purpose it was a 10 minute ride to the office but the immediate surrounding area is derelict industrial site apparently awaiting government funding so not sure the immediate vicinity has much to offer.
very nice room, the workers were nice, the only thing i didn't like was that the sink is too low, and its hard to wash your mouth. the breakfast wasn't the best but it was fine. overall a very nice hotel, very close to the big mall and the center of the city.
I live in the eastern US and have spent a lot of time in Europe as of late. When I travel I like a hotel with easy access to the airport and historic areas. This AC Marriott is an easy train ride from Bologna or Malpensa Airport. There are ton of things including a nice grocery store close to this hotel. I walked to castle's, church's, you name it and all easy walks. Now to the hotel. I am a lifetime platinum with Marriott and hence stay at a lot of Marriotts. The hotel was nice and the staff was exceptional! The weight room was average for cardio, had some barbells and room to stretch out, but that is about it. The rooms were very nice, but did not have coffee makers (the people in the dining room took care of me :). All in all I would highly recommend this hotel if you want the convenience of a train station and to be in easy walking distance of some really cool sites.
Stayed April 2017. Attending trade fair in Milan. Road train from Milan each day. Very nice Marriott property. Basic workout room, decent breakfast, free internet. For price paid excellent value. Front desk very helpful. Two nice restaurants nearby as well as shopping mall. Walking distance to train station. Nice small town atmosphere. Only issue would be transportation. If you are traveling by train to Brescia, Watch your back and do not travel solo. There seems to be a lot of people hanging around in downtown near train station and also in Milan too. So sad to see wonderful country of Italy in this situation.
