When we walked in the door all you could smell was pine Sol.We where here for our softball team. Shower didnt have much pressure.Toilet looked like it hadn't been clean.Took forever for Ac to get cold. Breakfast area was to small.
We made our reservations on line. The night of the check in was 08:00 pm. The room was marginal in all aspects.. Breakfast was marginal at best. All night long every 45 minutes of so the local train system gave us a wakeup as they passed by the motel. On the morning of the first night - circumstances unrelated to the motel dictated that we needed to check out in the a.m.and then drive home that evening vs staying for the second night. By the way that is what we did. The young lady at the desk that morning said that we could check out and not be charged for the second night. Then a lady who smelled of smoke,(in a smoke free motel `=-$250 fine if we smoked in the motel) intervened and said that because we made our reservations on line the cancellation fee was the second night reservation cost.. At no time did the system say that early checkout would result in a nights room fee. Having no other alternative, we removed our items from the room and were charged for a second night in the room even though we DID NOT stay at the motel. For a second class motel this mentality really needs to be known to any and all guests. Our conformation number was 54593SB005188.
At least the towels and bedding was clean. Overall, this property was in very poor repair. The room was packed with odds and end furniture. The A/C was very load and the humidity content in the room was excessive. Walls needed repair and paint years ago. I reported a clogged sink during a two night stay. I was never fixed. The property's elevator had no inspection certificate in it or a note where it might be stored. Also, when we checked in to the two rooms I had reserved the other folks in the party handed the clerk their credit card for the room (which should have overridden mine [ used to reserve it]) but ultimately my card was still charged for both rooms. Finally, we tried to shorten our stay to one night but because we didn't give them 24 hours notice we could not. Poor customer service.
The 2 housekeepers done an amazing job on our room!!! We can to town for our sons graduation from A&M. More than likely we will never be back in Somerville but if we are, we are definitely staying with you guys!!
The room wasn't terrible, but I've stayed in much better rooms for the price. The room had a stale smell to it and it was difficult to take a shower without getting water on the floor. The vanity is in the room and just a toilet and shower in the bathroom.
Property was presentable, staff was friendly and efficient. The room had such a strong odor of cleaning compounds I had to wonder what required that amount of attention. I am still not certain room was clean. My sock feet still stuck to carpet, but not sure if it was the massive amount of cleaning solution, or something "other". Regardless, I checked in around 2 PM and checked out a bit after 7 PM ( did not ask for a refund, and none was offered) the same day..., with a pounding headache from the chemical odor. I chose to drive a bit further and spend the night in a room that did not have such a strong odor.
Have stayed at the Somerville Inn on previous trips. this was our first time to stay at America's Best Value & will definitely come back. the staff was great! They were extremely helpful & took care of an issue we had immediately!
always friendly and welcoming already plan on staying again It is like a home away from home when we visit the Round Top Antiques week. the rooms are clean and comfortable. We enjoy the breakfast selections. .
Jade is the best employee and a wonderful promoter of your hotel chain. She accommodated my every need, was cheerful understanding charming and sympathtic..in short, the best. You are lucky to have her working for you.
Check in always easy, coffee in lobby always hot, don't use pool so cannot give a rating, other guest act up (example: load noise running the hall ways, spring boarding off the beds from upstairs) personal at the front desk take care of problem. parking outside very adequate. Overall management on top of things as for cleanliness in hallways, lobby & outside.
