Waterhouse 5210 is run by summit vacation rentals. Most others are run by Wyndham. This is specific to SVR. The good - very nice condo, fairly new building - close to lifts but it is 400 steps to a lift (quicksilver ) which is a beginner lift, so you need to take that lift and another before you get to intermediate expert terrain. Can be a longer walk for kids but ski school is there and at least you don’t ride a shuttle. -can walk to town easy. Main town is 5 minutes. There are closer shops in a plaza. The bad. - 5210 didn’t provide any ski locker keys. Where then do you put skis? -summit vacation rentals is not convenient. You have to stop in town, park, and check in at their office and check out and return keys too. Easily adds 30 minutes or more after a long day of traveling. Why not lock boxes etc? - SVR is very strict about 4 pm checking in time. We were there at 3:15 and wouldn’t give us keys until 4. Not fun when you have a sick wife and small kid. It takes 30 min minimum to find the place, park, and unload. Really? You couldn’t give the key a little earlier? - as stated not ski in out which is really convenient for kids -parking while indoor could be tight.
We had a party of 7 in two different units. Both were modern and reasonably well appointed and we all felt it was a good value. Our unit had a nice kitchen, living room with fireplace and 2 smallish master suites. We wanted something close to town and the lifts because we didn’t have a car, so this location was a good choice. There is a ski valet, so you don’t have to lug skis and boots back to your room. However, the lift was a bit of a walk from the valet. Not terrible, but would have been nice to be a little closer. There is a large hot tub outside of building 6, which was convenient for us. We didn’t use the pool or gym. There were a few frustrations including a malfunctioning elevator, lack of robes in our room, noise from the parking garage (on 1st floor), confusing room numbers, ski valet mix ups and somewhat mixed service.
We rented a condo in Water House for a family wedding. The condo was very nice. The wedding was held at Main Street Station which is part of the complex. All was lovely and wonderful which was expected. What wasn’t expected was the fabulous front desk crew. Especially John (Jon?) who went so far out of his way to be helpful and accommodating. THAT is what really made this stay over the top!!
No complaints about the facility and the location. The two bedroom condo unit was very spacious and, unusually, had nine foot ceilings. That was a real treat. And you can easily walk to the bottom of a ski lift, even in ski boots. In addition, the numerous restaurants and shops of historic downtown Breckenridge are literally accessible across the street. I’ve docked a star though for a few reasons, including the extremely impersonal check in experience, the non-functioning hot tub in our building and the lack of daily room service...
We stayed in the Water House on Main Street Vacation Rentals by Wyndham in unit 5306 for a week in February 2018. Pros: The property is in a great location. It is walking distance to ski lift, shops and great restaurants. The shuttle was a great way to get around town - friendly driver and never a long wait. The kitchen, fireplace, washer/dryer, and 1 and 1/2 baths were great. Cons: The mattress in the bedroom was old and thin - not comfortable. The sheets, mattress cover, and pillows were also old and worn. The sofa bed was not usable - it was all springs. The dishes were not clean so, we had to run everything through the dishwasher before using. When we arrived, the TV in the bedroom would not get a signal. We reported it to the front desk but it took 5 days to get it working. This property is in a great location and for the price, I expected more. They definitely need to update the mattresses on the beds and sofa beds, update the linens and make sure maintenance can keep the TVs working. I love the location but will not stay at this property again. The front desk staff were friendly but were unable to resolve our issues and did not offer any consolation.
I loved the gas Thermador range and appliances in this unit. We ended up roasting a turkey during our stay. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessities. The decor in the unit was appealing and clean. The unit was quiet at night and during the day, even with the Dew Tour activities going on down the street. Housekeeping was good. Wifi was strong. Great location - close to the lifts and to town. Our only complaint was that the hot water in the unit was a bit low and some of us ended up taking cold showers. Also, the sissal/jute rug in the living room shed all over our socks and pants.
Loved, loved, loved our stay at Water House on Main. Beautifully appointed condo. Fully stocked kitchen with everything you could need. They have a shuttle, but we never used it, so can't comment on its timeliness. Housekeeping was great and did a full luxury bedding swap after one of our littles had an overnight accident (Thank heavens they had a waterproof mattress pad in place!) Too chilly and rainy in August to use the pool, but the hot tubs were great! Overall, super-pleased with our stay! *This was obviously a summer vacation, so I can't comment on the winter experience, but the ski storage looked clean and convenient with plenty of lockers.* Were looking forward to returning in the winter to find out ;).
Beautiful room, wonderful hotel, great location. Only one MAJOR issue, room 5204 master bed was terrible. One side was so sunken in it was level with the bed frame it sits in, we almost thought it was a water bed when we first saw it. We were forced to sleep on one side trying not to roll into the crater all night. Makes a difference when you're tired all day from not enough rest at night.
We stayed at this condo recently. It is in a great location to visit downtown Breckenridge. Also, great location to get to the many activities that are around the area. We used the hot tub's which were well-kept. Unfortunately, it was a little too cool for us to use the pool but it looked clean and well taken care of. Kudos to the staff for allowing us to keep our mountain bikes in a secured location since they weren't allowed into the elevators/hallways. Staff was very friendly as was everyone we met in Colorado!
The unit itself was absolutely beautiful. Things were quiet enough at the complex but various parts of Breckenridge were within walking distance. Having a ski concierge near the lift would have been better though. My overall stay was marked but the 'loss' of my Go-Pro from the room. I don't know how it disappeared from the room but never once made it out on the slopes.
