There is no denying that Sunrise Retreat is a beautiful property in a beautiful location. The pre-check-in communication and sharing of information was great. However, we did experience some significant issues:
1. Poor AC: with temps between 85 and 90F, the advertised AC was a deciding factor for us booking this property. But the AC downstairs was mediocre and upstairs (where all 3 bedrooms are) there was no AC whatsoever. This made for very uncomfortably hot nights.
2. The master bedroom door doesn’t latch. With several younger children, it would have been nice to be able to use the lock on that door.
3. There was a hunting style trailcam pointed directly at the patio area. Unknown who the camera belonged to but this definitely felt like a violation of privacy and made it impossible to really relax there.
4. There were no window coverings in the 3 windows over master bed leading to some bright early mornings.
I advised the host of these issues and the only response I received was to let me know that they’d received my message. Nothing was fixed, no other resolutions were made. This is not an inexpensive place to stay and I’d hoped that the attention to any issues would reflected in that but this was not the case.
So while the property and location were beautiful, the lack of communication and failure to resolve issues means I’d look elsewhere if you’re looking to stay in Bozeman/area.
