very peaceful location and spacious home
The home is very spacious and comfortable and the fireplace is nice. The dock is not available off-season so we were not able to go sit on the dock with coffee. The morning sunrise is lovely if it's clear out. The garage is not available to use. The bed downstairs (the one we used) is VERY comfortable. You do have a couple neighbors, and although they aren't super close, there are no window coverings at all, even in the bedrooms.

Relaxing getaway
Beautiful and relaxing getaway. Wonderful for families and couples! Note to families of young children: there are no blinds in the house which makes for late to bed, early to rise toddlers! But the swimming in the backyard makes up for it!

I wanted a change of WFH scenery. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Beautiful sunrises, lots of light. Close to town. Would recommend.

Nice home in a lovely setting
We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was clean and inviting. I agree there could have been more seating options, but it was perfect for my family of 4. The kids loooooved the tree swing. I would definitely stay here again.

Great Views!
We love this property overlooking Merrymeeting Bay. The house is very nice. The patio is great. There were a few cigarette butts in the grooves of the pavers. The bed upstairs is very noisy and disturbs the bedroom below. The living room is in need of 2 comfortable chairs. This was our second time renting and will again.

Relaxing by the bay
The property was very nice and well equipped for a group of four. As others have mentioned, screens to keep out bugs and blinds for privacy and to keep out light would be very much appreciated. The property would also be enhanced with more outdoor furniture.

Beautiful and great location but needs updating
This was a great place with a beautiful view and easy access to everywhere we wanted to go. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable.
However, it really needs someone to keep up on the TLC. During our stay, we used the lovely fireplace .... until the panels of stone on the front of the fireplace started falling off. We appreciated all the drawer space ... until the front of the drawer fell off. And I really loved walking out to the patio to enjoy my morning coffee ... until the sliding doors stopped locking.
It's already been said many times that there are 500 million light switches. Some work. Some don't. Some lights are operated by multiple switches. Nothing is labeled. It's also already been said that there are no blinds anywhere in the house. Bring a sleep mask and move on. The views at sunrise and sunset are more than worth it.

Beautiful Views
We loved this home with its gorgeous views. We rented kayaks for our stay. As others said, the road going in was difficult to maneuver with a car that is low to the ground. We definitely would stay here again.

Awesome getaway on the water
We spent three nights over 4th of July weekend with another couple. This house is beautiful, and appears to be about 2 years old. Based on the online tour, we didn't really expect any privacy. The upstairs bedroom areas are open to below, and the downstairs bedroom has sliding doors that provide a visual screen, but no acoustic privacy. As long as you expect that, it's fine.
The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you'll need. There are reasonably good knives, measuring cups, gadgets. There's even an ice cream maker. There were plenty of coffee filters. There is a gas grill and a portable fire pit outside.
The view is very nice, though through a row of mature oaks. There's a fun swing that you stand on.
The dock is shared with the adjacent house (same property). Not great for swimming, particularly at low tide (water is murky all the time), but good for sitting and boating. We brought our 10' inflatable boat, which we launched at the Bowdoinham ramp (2.5 mi by water), and kept it on the dock for the weekend. Very convenient. The dock could use some cleats. It was tricky to tie up.
We saw a lot of wildlife from the dock: a large turtle, bald eagles, seals. There are two islands about a mile straight out that are nice for exploring and swimming. The water is fresh, even though it rises and falls with the tide pushing up the Kennebec.
We loved this place, and would definitely go back. Also check out the sister property. It's smaller, but perched right over the water.
If you get bored, you can try to figure out what all the lightswtiches do. The downstairs bathroom has 10.

Many windows, beautiful view
My family had a nice stay in this new, modern house with a beautiful view of the bay. It has everything needed for a comfortable stay. However the layout of the house is odd and it's not a good fit for families with young kids or anyone who has different bedtimes (or needs quiet or a nap). The photos feel purposefully misleading and don't show that there are no bedroom doors for the two upstairs bedrooms (bedroom areas, not really bedrooms), which are in a loft. You can get an accurate picture of the layout if you do the virtual walk-through. There are door sliders for the downstairs bedroom but don't do anything for sound. Except for the bathrooms, the house is basically one big, open room with lovely views. It is best for a couple or a group of friends.

secluded lakeside red barn
Firstly the drive to the property was not ideal for most cars. Make sure you have an SUV because the hill is steep and road is broken up and windy. It is however, full of deer at night so drive carefully! I had the luxury of staying for 28 days in the fall and the color of the sky over the lake was breathtaking! You wake up to nature (especially since there are no curtains throughout the house). No curtains wasn't an issue for me except at night if there were neighbors and I felt as if you could see inside at everything we were doing. The kitchen was a disappointment since it seemed large but cooking was difficult and luckily for me I met the maintenance guy Kevin who said "if I needed anything to help make our stay better, just ask". They were truly one of the reasons this stay turned for the better. If you enjoy seclusion and nature, this place is for you. I would recommend more chairs outside for groups to sit on not just two. The living room needs more seating and bedrooms could've used another table for each side of the bed. The cable went in and out which was annoying when trying to enjoy a movie. I would stay here again if with a group.

Concerns
Put a table and reading light n Xtract to single bed
Should be electric blinds around top windows
Road to house should be flattened out because we scraped the bottom of the car getting there
