The hotel is good located near to the center and shops.Room was good. When I reached the room, a woman from the staff go in to take something out of the safe without knocking on the door. The breakfast was good but the same every day. The coffee was very good. The bathroom was large and comfortable. There are missing any cosmetic series. Room windows are locked . No terraces.
I did not book this hotel on my own - it was pre-booked as part of a small group and it was BY FAR the worst hotel we stayed in. Shabby rooms, inconvenient location, and the front desk staff was awful
Good hotel near centre of Bordeaux. We stayed in the newly refurbished rooms on the third floor, which were really smart. Others staying on the higher floors felt the rooms were a bit dark and tired. Good choice at breakfast. Parking €19 per day in next door multi-story.
Firstly Bordeaux is stunning - we absolutely loved our visit to this beautiful city. This hotel suited our needs perfectly - our room was really nice, spacious enough, a lovely patio area, comfortable bed, lots of in room extras such as a Nespresso machine which exceeded expectations at this price range. The staff were very helpful & polite (although I was charged to card after I asked to pay by cash when we arrived which I was advised I would do on checkout, when I went to check out they told me I had already paid and they had just gone ahead and charged my card). The underground parking is secure and perfect in a city where parking isn't easy to come across. We left our van in the basement for the stay and just explored Bordeaux by foot as the location of the hotel is great - close enough but not too close so that you feel like you are on top of it all. (P.S please tidy up the stairwell the whole hotel has been refurbished and looks great and then something so simple - the stairwell - is dated and ugly. Just finish it off to complete the lovely hotel)
The hotel is in the middle of a concrete jungle and is disappointing at first sight. It is near Auchan (supermarket) and a small shopping centre. You can take the tram, just round the corner but you cannot hear it from your room. The rooms are basic. There is an indoor car park with direct access to the hotel but the spaces are small. We had a problem with our room and it was sorted out promptly. Breakfast was fine.
This hotel, although well located near the city centre, is old and needs to be refurbished completely, especially the out dated and dirty rooms. Rooms are not well maintained, also bathroom. Air conditioning makes a lot of noise. Bar is closing at midnight, for a so called 4 star hotel! Breakfast is below French standards: scrambled eggs made from egg powder! If you want a boiled egg, you have to do it yourself! Fruit quality is poor. A disappointing experience. I have been served better in budget hotels. Not the brand "Mercure" worth! This is a very expensive "2 star" hotel. Noting less nothing more!
Stayed here one night while on tour. Free wifi. Metro opposite hotel. Our room had a small fridge. 15 minute walk to the historic centre. The hotel is located next to the shopping plaza. You can access this from the 2nd floor walkway withut going on the street.
It's an average hotel with LESS than an average room. About the MOST interesting aspect of this hotel would be parking. Look for the entrance sign and be prepared for a TIGHT fit and not that many spaces. You will have to check-in first to have the access code for your room. I can say the a/c worked quite well and it is in the city center - kind of. Friendly reception staff and English speaking if needed. Do NOT think it will work as a base to explore the Bordeaux countryside. MUCH better to stay to see the the main church and Sunday market, then out of town for the WONDERFUL vineyards!!!
We found the facilities great modern rooms and excellent service. Location is good right on a tram line so if you are arriving by train it is easy to hop on one and only 1.euro.50 to travel. Easy walking distance to old town and all the sites. We would definitely stay here again.
The hotel is conveniently accessible to walking to the old city, shopping on rue St. Catherine, many restaurants are in both areas. The Meriadeck Centre across the street from the hotel contains patisseries and a cafeteria-style restaurant called Flunch, a three story store called Auchan( a complete supermarket is on the main floor ), as well as other shops.
