Fantastic place, tucked away in the middle of a vineyard. Excellent service, clean and comfortable room and bathroom, lovely view of the vineyard. Good wifi. Plenty of choices for breakfast. No lift. Small pool. Located about 20 min drive from Bordeaux. Free parking outside. Very good restaurant in an adjacent building with plenty of outdoor seating.
Les Secrets is a very nice hotel in a stunning area and with a lovely pool. The highlight was the restaurant where we had a couple of delicious meals overlooking the vineyards. Our room was quite small but it looked out over the surrounding area and it was very clean and quiet. It was a short ride into Bordeaux, where we parked up and caught the tram into the city.
One of the nicest meals I have ever had. We were a party of 4 and not one disappointing dish. Wine and service also excellent. The setting is beautiful. We tried a couple of other restaurants nearby during our stay with equal ratings - they weren’t even close to Les Secrets for food or service.
Lovely rural location but not too far from main routes. Nice pool area. Choice of rooms. Basic ones aren't too big, but big enough, just. Thin walls.Comfy bed. The tiled floors enhance the wheeled suitcase noise when guests leave early morning and then of course they load their cars which could be parked under your window!. Unfortunately when we stayed it was a busy delivery morning and bin collection day as well. These people always seem to turn up as early as they can and make as much noise as possible. The rural idyll was somewhat marred! Very good restaurant.
I can’t talk highly enough of the gastronomy that the restaurant provides. Stayed over 6 nights at Les Secrets of Chateau Pey La Tour, every day lunch & dinner was brilliantly presented. Loved the playing room where the beer on tap was always ready for us. Special mention to the Culinary team who was always serving so kindly and attentively. I highly recommend to organise your conference here or dining out at the restaurant.
Would highly recommend eating in their restaurant. The smoked haddock starter was naturally smoked. The fillet of beef was superb and cooked to perfection. We tried two different desserts, both of which were also excellent. All staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are not large, but beds were very comfortable. The buffet breakfast was also extremely well presented and plenty of options. Would definitely recommend.
The restaurant and setting are lovely but the accommodation is done on the cheap. The walls are thin, the fixtures and fittings tired - ill fitting laminate floor, thin towels, chips off the toilet seat, minimum expenditure. The staff are good. The restaurant is good. We had a sleepless night thanks to some ongoing plumbing noises that went on above our room literally all night. Add to that the balcony which was open at the bottom - a danger for small kids or dogs. Sorry but we wont be back until investment is made in the accommodation.
After a long, hot drive the sight of the Les Secrets Chateau with it’s restaurant spilling out across the grass and the view of the vineyard is idyllic. We couldn’t wait to get to our room and then cool off in the pool. Our garden room was pretty disappointing for the price. It was very small and in need of an update. There was no fridge or hairdryer and the shower rudimentary. One glaring exception to this lacklustre environment is the brand new, shiny Nespresso machine. Our machine proved temperamental, gobbling up the pods without providing the coffee. When we asked for extra pods we were told each room was allocated only two a day. That’s just mean. However we were allowed more on this occasion, but the machine still failed to do its job. Next morning we had to get our wake up coffee from the breakfast room. The restaurant was the complete opposite. The food was gorgeous and staff great - helpfully steering us on our choice of wine.
Within minutes of leaving main road you are surrounded by beautiful vineyards which you are welcome to walk round. We had our dog with us and it was perfect after a long drive to wander around. The room was small but spotless. The amenities tip top too - outside pool, loungers and a bright modern airy breakfast/bar area. Staff smiley and lovely and a help yourself breakfast which ticked all the boxes. This is our second stay we will be back.
This is an excellent stop off location close to Bordeaux, but far enough off the beaten track to be quiet and peaceful with easy secure parking. The rooms are fine for a one or two night stay, but not really suited to a week's holiday. Far better though than the bland chain places, and this is exemplified by the restaurant. Absolutely superb cuisine, not cheap, but very good VFM. Very comfortable with attentive service, with the added bonus that you get to try the Chateau's own wines at very reasonable prices, plus plenty more from other Bordeaux vineyards. Copious breakfast overlooking the vines.
