We stayed here in August, so this review is long overdue. It is amazing, peaceful and too beautiful for words. You can only reach it by boat, there are few people there which was perfect for us. We went to the mainland once which we decided was a waste of time. There are bugs because they do not spray pesticides like the big resorts do. Bring your bug spray. This is a tropical island. All the wet islands have bugs. The beds were comfortable, the huts very clean. The food was amazing. You will spend some money here, not as much as other places on Bora Bora. We did bring some food with us, no problem. You can go to the main island for excursions, no problem. We preferred to stay at Blue Heaven Blue Heaven is not for everyone. If you are looking for the Four Seasons, a big hotel with a night life and lots of people around, you may not be happy here. If you are comfortable with yourself and your travel companion, enjoy peace and nature, you will love it here. The water and sea life cannot be beat. As soon as you step foot in the water you will be greeted by hundreds of the most amazing fish. Bring your underwater camera! We enjoyed swimming and kayaking every day. A couple had stayed at the Inter-Continental the night before and said they saw one fish from their over the water bungalow. UGH! Glad I did not pay $1,000 a night to see one fish. Elie, Marie Francios and Jimmy tend to your every need. You will think you are paying much more. The food is amazing and there is plenty of it. They cater to your desires and restrictions. We made friends with other guest over family style meals. Do yourself a favor. Do all your activities on other islands. Come to the Blue Heaven to relax, snorkel, kayak and connect with yourself and your partner. You will not regret a moment.

This was our favorite place to snorkel on Bora bora. The accommodations are a bit rustic for our taste. The food was fantastic and marea and jimmy are great hosts and cooks. In our bungalow there were no chairs or place to hang clothes. There was one towel bar for our towels to dry. Bed was comfortable and the mosquito netting was appreciated. Bora bora is expensive and we were captive audience to the meals on this motu because there are no other alternatives to eating other than at this lodge. They have all the water equipment and snorkel gear which was very much appreciated. I would stay here again but would like to see the accommodations a little more improved.

I absolutely loved this place for its uniqueness and simplicity. It’s not a luxury resort but basic facilities with showers water provided from the rain, so it depends what you are looking for but for me this was paradise. It’s on a small island, away from busy Bora so you have the nature to yourself! A blue lagoon with amazing snorkeling just in front of you (the best we’ve had in French Polynesia actually), where you can canoe, swim or just chill. The host, Elie, was amazing and super accommodating - he also cooked our lunches and dinners which were delicious, in a family atmosphere that I cannot forget. The 2 dogs, Etoile and Tupuna, are so friendly and showed us the way up to the end of the island where you can enjoy a wonderful sunset. I would come and live here if I could.

There were a ridiculous number of mosquitos, way more than we saw anywhere else on our trip. The water outside the hotel is great for snorkeling, but if you want to do anything else, you need to pay for the staff to take you to the airport on a boat and then take the ferry to the main island.

I stayed a few days at Blue Heaven and two days at a resort in Bora Bora and I regret the resort. Blue Heaven is quiet and peaceful with super friendly people. Jimmy and Elie are happy to take you wherever you want to go so it was easy to get to the main island and rent a car for a day but after that I was happy to just relax, enjoy the cool breezes and the views. You can walk down to the water, grab mask, fins & snorkel, and swim off into a gorgeous coral garden any time you feel like it and without having to go get gear from a resort office. I snorkeled for over an hour one day and Jimmy started to come look for me! They are that concerned about the happiness and welfare of their guests. The island does have a lot of mosquitoes and no wifi but my phone and SIM chip wifi worked fine so I still didn't manage to completely disconnect, but next time I'll try harder. Lazing in one of the hammocks with a good book, eating Elie & Jimmy's great cooking, and feeding the tropical fish who hang out by the dock is a great way to spend the day.

This pension is made of 5 bungalows in a small motu (islet) about 5 minutes by boat from the airport, and a few more from the main Bora Bora island. If you are looking for some sort of Robinson Crusoe experience it is the perfect place for you! And it was for us! The bungalows are quite basic but very nice, and there is hot water and a fan. Elie (the host) is very nice and an interesting character, you'll never be bored when he's around! :-) He's also a good cook, and that's good because given the remoteness of the place you won't have other options for eating! The lagoon surrounding the motu is simply unbelievable, you can swim, snorkel, walk, canoe etc for kilometers around you, all in turquoise shallow waters, seeing amazing corals (among the best I've seen in Polynesia), tropical fishes, etc. Snorkelling equipment and canoes are available for free. The accommodations and the meals are certainly not cheap, but again given the remoteness it is probably understandable. Thank you Elie for looking after us, we'll be back one day!

After spending 3 days / nights here, my wife felt like we spent 3 weeks. The onsite amenities are fantastic from the kayaks and snorkel equipment to relaxing on the dock's roof to watch the the Milky Way during the evenings. The coral garden right out front of the island is a great way to explore the abundance of sea life including spotted sting rays and tropical fish. Mt. Pahia dominates the horizon and the shades of turquoise is simply amazing. When we stayed, we were the only guests there so we had practically the whole Motu (islet) to ourselves. Jimmy made our stay comfortable and hospitable with the daily breakfast and dinner (extra and a little pricey). He also roasted Uru (Tahitian breadfruit) topped with fresh coconut milk on our final day that made our 3 days some of the most memorable times in all of French Polynesia.

What a great place to spend our last 2 nights in Bora Bora! If we had known it was such a cool place we would have stayed longer! It's on a motu close to the airport so we took the airport shuttle from town to the airport and Elie picked us up there. Pleasant, simple little bungalows (5) on a beautiful property, great swimming and snorkeling and kayaking, lots of places to lounge and enjoy. Elie was the perfect host, always ready to help. The food was good, and we'll be back someday!

The tranquillity and serenity of the sound of the waves makes this getaway place a relaxing, comfortable spot to reflect on how simple things are here compared to the busy city, rat race life we tend to live in most times. Friendly hosts and great cooks and entertainers with stories of their own to share at dinner times. Your needs, they meet! Love this step up, from Robinson Crusoes backyard lifestyle. We will be returning, with friends hopefully x thanks for a great 2nights.

I am so happy this is one of the places I've stayed in Bora Bora. We stayed at 3 different places during our ten days & Blue Heaven island is perfect place for my boyfriend and I. It is a secluded, private island, but if we needed something the owner, Elie, pampered is in just the right ways. Most of the time we were alone, but if we needed food or an exotic drink, Elie would cook something so good I'd be begging for the recipe. He taught my boyfriend the art of opening a coconut, & he's a fantastic storyteller to watch the stars with. The ambiance is completely chill and zen, very different from the resorts with over water bungalows. There is enough sand to feel like a beach, but mostly amazing coral for exceptional snorkelling. Each day we'd use a couple of the kayaks & go find a cool place to snorkel & hang out. Elie can take you anywhere you want to go, but there was really no need to leave this perfect place. I felt comfortable and safe, during the ten minutes of boat transfer to get there. The other places we stayed were fine in their own way, but Blue Heaven island Is one of those rare gems where you feel like your home. Comfortable bungalow, superb location, and a dream host.
