This updated mountain home was built in 1991 and has been well cared for and well maintained. One of the few homes in Boone for rent with central heating and air. Pulling up to the house you will notice the driveway is well positioned and not very steep. This is important in winter months, as many driveways in the area can be very steep. There is a beautiful deck that wraps around three-fourths of the house, with rocking chairs on the front porch. This is the perfect place to enjoy morning coffee or an evening glass of wine or bourbon. When the leaves are off the trees in the fall you can see distant mountains and nearby houses, making for a picturesque view.
You will enter the house through the door on the side of the house, which leads into the open kitchen and dining room area. The kitchen is well equipped to prepare meals for any size group, and can seat 8 people...four at the dining table and two more at the counter. There are four large glass doors in the kitchen leading to the back deck, and offering tons of light and great views of nature going up the back mountain. New appliances were added in December 2022 (photos coming).
Directly off the kitchen in a bright sitting room with comfortable seating and another large window to watch nature. Binoculars are provided for those who enjoy bird watching. This is a great spot for that! This room has a sofa, and a folding screen to offer privacy to the hallway. The three bedrooms are on the second floor, so privacy for this room has not been an issue. A stackable washer and dryer is located at the end of the hallway, just off the sitting room. It is for guest use. Please feel free to clean your clothes before heading back. No need to do bed linens or towels as we professionally launder those off site.
A half bath and large living room round out the first floor. The living room is spacious and carpeted, and features two large sofas. Eight people can sit comfortably, and two others can be accommodated by bringing in chairs from other rooms. The living room also features a 52" smart TV with internet through Spectrum, DVD player, and a small library of popular DVD titles. The smart TV has most of the popular streaming apps and you can use your own login information to access these. You will always have something to watch. The bookcase leading to the living room is filled with some favorites, and the coat closet has a few board games you are welcome to use. Please enjoy!
The second floor of the house features three spacious, carpeted bedrooms, and two full bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have queen size beds, the master bedroom features a king size bed. All have large closets and drawers for folded clothes, as well as two windows for light and views. Each bedroom is private with a door that locks. The two full baths feature bath tubs, perfect for soaking or washing little ones, and removable, hand-held shower heads. Be sure to stagger showers so there is plenty of hot water for all. This house is fed by a well that brings filtered water into the house at 40 degrees, which can take some time to heat.
This house is warm and inviting. Our family has had many fun weekends and great memories from this house. We are thrilled to be able to open it to guests and hope that you can create sweet memories here as well.
This house is 1800 square feet
First floor: - Eat-in Kitchen - Sitting room - Large living room with 2 sofas - 1/2 Bath
Second Floor: - Two bedrooms with queen beds - Master suite with a king bed and full bath - Second full bath is in the upstairs hallway
Snow season in Boone is between the first of November and the end of March. Please be prepared for heavy snowfall at any time during these months. Our street is privately owned and well maintained, without steep hills. The neighborhood plows the streets starting with 3 inches of snowfall.
Our driveway is one of the best on the streets for access in and out during snowfall. There is a shovel and salt on the premises for your convenience. Please feel free to use to help get in and out of the driveway. If you use the last of the salt, please let us know so that we can replace.
Final note: When snowfall or other inclement weather is forecasted, we strongly suggest that you park at the bottom of the driveway for easy exit. We do not plow the driveway until the snowfall accumulation reaches 4 inches, and when notified by our guests. We rely on you to let us know when this threshold has been met.

The visit was a delight. It’s beautiful, well designed house with ample space, beautiful views, an ample porch and nice bedrooms and bathrooms. The fireplaces are wonderful, the seating is comfortable and cozy. The two separate living room and reading room was a nice surprise. The kitchen was well furnished. We enjoyed chatting by the fire at night and drinking our coffee in the reading room with the big window in the morning. Time on the porch was nice, too. We had a few deer sightings. I can’t wait to come back for a longer stay and hikes. The drives to Blowing Rock and Boone were easy and scenic.

The property was just as described and very clean. It was easy to drive to and from Blowing Rock and Boone (just know it will be very dark driving at night) and being so close to the Blue Ridge Parkway was a plus for us. The house was cozy and had multiple comfortable spots for relaxing, including a nice covered porch. We loved using the fireplace when it got chilly at night. Overall, highly recommend this place as a good base for exploring the area.

Justin's retreat was absolutely great! The sitting rooms and bedrooms were amazing, clean and simple, yet elegant with decor. The property itself was near the Blue Ridge Parkway and the surroundings were absolutely beautiful. Justin himself was a great host, we ended up needing to stay an additional night due to some car issues my in-laws had and he was incredibly accommodating. 10/10, would definitely stay here again in the future.

Lovely home
We loved our stay here. It was one of the best short term rental experiences in a long time because it felt like a home, not a business, like rentals did when this all started. The location was fabulous between Boone and Blowing Rock. You felt far out of the way, but were just minutes to anything. We hiked Goshen River and it was nice. We will stay again any time we are back in town.
