April 2023 update: 7-person saltwater hot tub surrounded on two sides with new custom deck. Enjoy a private relaxing soak or a group happy hour hot tub session year round.

The main floor boasts an open concept floor plan with high ceilings and an expansive wall of windows. Enjoy the natural light and nature’s beauty while you are cooking in the kitchen, sitting down to eat with friends or family, or relaxing on one of the cozy couches. The living room space has a beautiful stone fireplace with easy-to-use gas logs and a smart TV. The kitchen has everything you need whether you are cooking a romantic dinner for two or a meal for ten, including granite countertops, dishwasher, drip coffee pot and Keurig (with coffee supplied), ample storage for food, and more. Also on the main floor is a full bath and two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with a queen bed and a set of bunk beds.

Just outside the kitchen is a wrap-around deck that brings you a step closer to the views visible from inside the home. Enjoy cooking on the stainless-steel grill, having lunch on the table, or simply relaxing in one of the four Adirondack chairs. Take the lid off the table and turn on the propane fire in the middle to keep warm on chilly evenings. The deck has a latched gate at the top of the stairs to make it safe for young kids.

Head upstairs to the master bedroom. This majestic space is one of our favorite parts of the home. It has a king bed, private bath with jacuzzi soaking tub and shower, walk-in closet, and a private balcony. The 9-ft tall glass french doors can be opened wide to connect the bedroom to the great room below, or closed and covered with blackout curtains for peace and quiet. When morning comes, you can start your day with views of nature without getting out of bed. Hidden in the wardrobe is a smart TV. By the balcony is a table for an office away from home, with a 24" monitor stored in the bottom of the wardrobe. The house has fiber internet, providing dependable extremely fast (250+ Mbps) throughout the house. Do not miss the cute bistro table on the loft’s edge for a date night, your morning coffee, or day in your vacation home office with a great view

The bottom floor has an additional living and entertaining space, with a regulation size pool table, 58” smart TV with surround sound, gas fireplace, and a table for games, puzzles, or office workstation. Just around the corner from the glass door is a 7-person saltwater hot tub, with adjustable jets in every seat. The many windows create a bright and inviting space. The cozy bedroom on this floor has a queen bed with a closet and is perfect for those that want a little more privacy. In addition to the full bath, there is also a laundry room with a washer and dryer for the guests’ convenience.

The River Ridge community provides walkable roads and two river access points, one of which is less than a quarter of a mile from our home, next to a bridge over the river. There is a path down the bank for access to the river where you can fish or tube on your own. The other neighborhood river access in an additional 10-minute walk. During the warmer months you can tube from the bridge to the other access point in about 30 minutes,. There is parking at the second river access if you prefer to drive.

There are three expedition companies within a 5- to 10-minute drive from the house that will provide everything you need for a tubing, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, biking, or hiking experience.

Lovely cabin on a steep hill

The cabin is a nice place for larger groups to stay. We had our adult children (2 with their spouses, and one single son) along with our 3 grandkids ages: 7, 4, and 9 months. Most of the adults enjoyed the hot tub. I didn’t get to try it out, as going up and down stairs is a bit difficult for me. I mostly stayed on the main floor once I managed to climb the outside stairs to the main level. The cabin has many amenities. About the only thing we could have used in the kitchen would have been some tongs when cooking and another spatula. Bring your own decaf k-cups for the Keurig, if this is what you prefer to have. There were plenty of caffeinated k-cups for those who enjoy those along with a regular coffee maker for making those larger amounts of morning coffee.Be sure not to drive too close to the entry gate and then have to back up to put in the code on the keypad. We didn’t see the keypad so my husband walked back to locate it. He put in the code, the gate opened, but then shut before he could get back into the vehicle and drive through. We then backed the vehicle up to the key pad and managed to get through the gate that time. )There is plenty of parking space, but the steep incline into the driveway takes some getting used to. We had 4 parked vehicles, and eventually learned the value of figuring out how to turn the vehicle around to drive out of the driveway (backing out of the driveway is very difficult, even with backup cameras). Our stay was nice.

Extended family vacation

We stayed for a few days before and over Thanksgiving. The trip was an opportunity for extended family that doesn’t see each other a lot to spend some time together. River Ridge was great - great space for togetherness as well as enough room for alone time. And close enough to town to run errands or get away for a few hours. The fire pit and hot tub were both popular with our group, as was the tree swing and proximity to fishing. Would stay here again, for sure.

The cabin was beautiful.

The cleanliness of the inside was a little disappointing. There were cobwebs lining the stairway down to the bottom level. When we turned on the oven the first night, we smelled smoke. The oven then caught on fire, there was a large amount of greese left on the bottom of the stove that was 🔥 burning, not just smoke but an open flame.

Very spacious and comfortable

This was everything we expected and more. Our youngest grandchild is a year and a half old and loved the toys. My mother in-law is 90+ years old and found the house, and her room to be very comfortable. We had a few questions for the owners and they responded quickly, positively, and were very pleasant.

Beautiful mountain stay

The house was very adequate for our needs. It was clean and well stocked. The owners have thought of everything that would make our stay comfortable. The river access near the house was not good for children as it was very brushy with drop offs but we went to Todd Island Park and it was a great place for the children to wade and swim.
