The outside of the motel looks shabby, but the rooms were comfy, modern, and clean. I was impressed and enjoyed my two day stay
Liked that I could park right in front of my room.
We felt safe there and they took care of us even though we arrived super late. We would consider staying there again.
Overall the motel was not too bad. I was worried after reading the reviews, but there is not much to choose from in Western Oklahoma. Motel was older, but rooms were refreshingly clean. Water was hot, towels were clean and linens were also clean.
I made a reservation to stay at this hotel with my small dog. The hotel was advertised as pet friendly. When I arrived, I was told that there would be a 20 dollar pet charge, which I was fine with but then the owner of the hotel proceeded to ask 20 questions about my pet looking for a reason to turn me away. What kind of pet? Is it a small dog? The question that finally did it was: does your dog bark? Yes, my dog barks. Since my answer was yes to that question it became clear that I was not welcome. It is fine if you own a hotel and don't want to allow pets, but please be upfront about it so that pet owners don't make arrangements that fall through. I slept in my car at the gas station that night.
Online it says that there is no refund (if you want to change or cancel?) when you book (using Orbitz). And it asks twice if I am ok with that. so I was ok with that despite the price was stiff...for its location Arriving to this kind of run down hotel, the clerk (I prefer to call her clerk, as she had flip flops and not in any shape representing the charge) I told her I had already paid online it turned out I hadn't? and there was no double charged, despite I paid online and at the hotel The clerk was friendly and helpful, but there was no internet connection, despite she gave me a WiFi code. I thought it said something about breakfast at the booking...online but there was no breakfast. So, I could be wrong
Boise City is pretty run-down with many vacant old buildings. This is one of two motels. Grounds and exterior of the Townsman are rather shabby but I found the room to be clean and satisfactory under the circumstances. Woman clerk from India was not very easy to communicate with.
