Warm and friendly welcome, efficient check in procedure. Staff showing every detail in the room and explained all the facility professionally. Rooms very large with separate living room, clean, not new but reasonably well maintained. Large flat TV. Reasonably priced - internet fast and reliable included in the room charge. Restaurant and breakfast area well furnished (a bit of luxury) and the open seating areas in the restaurant have sufficient space. Can warmly recommend the Hotel to business and family travellers. Shopping center Andino only 5 min walk and all other shopping and restaurants max. 15 min walk.
Hotel Porton is a 2-minute walk to the main north-south drag, Carrera 7, the avenue you'll use 90% of the time in a cab/uber or walking. Located in the northern primo living and shopping area of Bogota,it's entirely safe. Know that it's an hour's walk down to the heart of the old Candalaria district, which I did twice, but wouldn't do again. Uber is "illegal" there (just sit in the front seat), and yellow cabs are cheap. Don't waste time trudging up and down Carrera 7 unless you're there on a Sunday, when bikers, runners, strollers take over the avenue, and where dramatically coiffed dogs - such fancy breeds you'll need to google them - are walking their owners. Room was huge with windows on 2 sides, (The view isn't pretty like in the photo. Just some other buildings.) perfectly clean, a wee bit ragged around the edges, with excellent lighting. The bed was super firm (see: sleeping on a rock) with excellent linens. Staff was terrific, and breakfast good. Such a bargain. I'd go back. Common areas are beautifully decorated.
The Hotel Porton Bogota is a very pleasant and restful hotel located in an upscale residential area of Bogota. It is surrounded by large leafy trees, and the rooms are quiet with virtually no traffic noise. Just a few blocks away is the "Zona T" district with a variety of restaurants and shopping. The area feels secure and relaxed. The staff in the hotel quickly get to know guests, and remember names and personal preferences. The feeling is almost like staying in a good friend's large home, and not a commercial hotel. The operations manager, Alejandra, goes out of her way to exceed expectations by fulfilling requests by guests. The front desk attendants Christian and Daniela are extremely personable and cheerful. The decoration of the lobby area with antiques and views of the gardens is very tastefully done.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was clean yet showing signs of its age. The restaurant was actually very beautiful. It also has a lounge to enjoy a few cocktails up until 10:30 pm. But I would give the attendants a 5 star. They where pleasant and efficient.
A great little hotel, very central lovely big bedroom, v light and airy with helpful staff. Easy to meet with friends as lots of places to sit and drink or chat other than the bar. Really central, within walking distance of shops, cafes etc. If you don't like big commercial hotels but wantvwhat they offer this place is great!
Five nights in this beautiful hotel in the end November and beginning of December was a very good experience. The location of the hotel is good: It is close to the biggest mall of the city as well as a restaurant zone. Though, Bogota is a big city with a lot of traffic, Hotel Porton's location is very peaceful. Its public spaces are very elegant and decorated with a good taste. Unfortunately, the rooms are more modest. Hotel's breakfast was very good, as well as the food in the restaurant. Nothing fancy, but tasty. The service in the hotel was kinda friendly, but a bit distant. To communicate in English was challenging for most of the staff members.
This hotel is an amazing alternative for anyone who loves excellent service and comfort located in the heart of Bogota. With a discrete entrance it's hard to imagine how dashingly elegant and stylish this hotel is on the inside. Don't judge a book by its cover. The rooms are big, beautiful and comfortable and although it is situated close to one of the busiest main streets you will hardly hear a fly disturbing your sleep and as the side street that leads to the hotel is full of old beautiful trees it makes it feel even more like a hidden gem. The hotel is also a walking distance from the best restaurants, clubs and shopping in Bogota. Simply put the best of the best, relaxingly comfortable and close to the best entertainment... and for a good price. And oh, don't forget the great breakfast buffet. As you can guess we loved it here.
I never stayed so close to the commercial and nightlife Zone T, but this old fashion and small hotel was a good surprise. Looking an European hotel, I found a good services and friendly and kind people. I arrived and my check in was done, just waiting me to face at the front desk. Internet, which is included and has no limite of devices, is very fast. The only 'if' was the water in the bath, which was few that i needed to make exercise to take the shower.
Excellent service and amenities all around. Highly recommended. Will definitely stay there again. Car service was very affordable and safe. Front desk was very helpful in planning our free-day. The best part was the room with 2 bathrooms!!!
Very nice quaint hotel in central Bogota. Walking distance to Zona Rosa. Lots of great stores and restaurants close by. Rooms very quiet and nicely furnished. This feels like an old house that was converted into a hotel. On a quiet side street. Breakfast was nice, but make sure it is included with your room price.
