Hotel Estelar La Fontana

Although is an old and well known hotel in Bogota, the facilities and building is well kept and cozy, and the service is really good. It is a little bit far from the restaurant zones in Bogotá, but you can cross the street and visit one of the classic malls in Bogota. I will recommend but make sure is the right location for you, since Bogota is not easy with the traffic.

Es un lugar muy agradable con espacios de luz y comodidad que invitan al descanso

Staff was great. The hotel is showing its age. The bed mattress was bumpy. I have been at this hotel a few times. It's getting old. The shower curtain had a stain on it. The room was not cleaned great.

Positive perception: Location, infrastructure and food are great. Waste water canal outside the hotel should be covered at least because it's a repulsive site. Staff needs to meet the expectations of a claimed 5 star hotel. Not so positive: check in or check out is unnecessarily chaotic at times it appears they need to develop and to manage their skills more efficiently. They also must treat every guest equally regardless whether they are Caucasian or not. Prompted smiles, late apologies and canned answers can not make up for a job done poorly, especially when dealing with basic chores.

The hotel has its own style, with a beautiful central plaza, where a small church stands; with a well presented dinner place, small coffee bars, and a unique feeling. You do have a big mall right across the street, where you can find many shopping needs.

Staff was exceptional. Room was top choice. Inner atrium with brickwork was great place to relax.

We stayed for one night here, staff was helpful, some of the items provided by the hotel in our room had been opened before we took the room ie the shower cap and the ear cotton buds. They charge a rate per room and another rate on top for any additional guests. So if traveling in couples should look to book the room for 1 to save some cash- do not tell the staff that another person is with you as this adds $30usd to the cost without any additional benefit in terms of amenities or comforts.

Real nice hotel with great service (which is the standard in Bogota). I arrived and the manager could not find my reservation (I had cancelled it several times due to change in plans); after about 10 mins, he found it and he upgraded me to a wonderful suite due to the inconvenience. To me, this speaks volumes; there is nothing greater than an empowered employee with the right focus. The insight of the hotel is wonderful and the hotel is very safe with lots of privacy. It is located in a nice place right in front of one of the most popular malls in Bogota (Unicentro). I will stay here again for sure.

Excellent stay - good value and superb location for Bogota

Relaxing environment and next to lots of shopping and restaurants.

this was by far the best hotel i have ever been. the staff was great and it seems they all spoke english including the bell boys. it was a very clean hotel and secure. when i asked for something the people were there instantly. and every morning the breakfast buffet was the best. i will go there again the next time i go to bogota colombia

Location is near shopping and restaurants - very safe area - hotel staff are excellent, attentive without being too attentive. Excellent hotel and well worth the value, the location and the room quality.

I showed up from Cali with all of my clothes needing to be washed. I was dueto check out the next day to continue my trip. Staff assured me my clothes would be ready the next day befor checkout. So the next morning I put on my last set of clean clothes to go work out in. I worked up a good sweat, then went to reception to get my clothes, only to find out they hadn't been washed at all. I spent the next two days in dirty clothes because of them. Additionally the room they provided me with was the first room on the wing, with lots of people walking by it all the time and with now view, even though I asked for a quiet room with a view. If I am paying over a hundred a night to stay in a four star in Latin America, I should probably get what I paid for.

Beautiful hotel very friendly and helpful hotel staff. Great breakfast that was included with our stay. Rooms were nice and clean. Would stay there again in the future.

I was told by the hotel staff to keep myself away from public transportation and street yellow taxis. They offered me private hotel taxis and guide services. I went to the closest Tourism information office and they explained me how to use public transportation: rural and city buses, Trans Millennium (Metro), and yellow taxis. They told me how safe the country was. After that I went on my own all over the country with few bucks and a lot of fun. Colombian people are great. I am a 66 year old man, all by myself. People yielded their seats when I used crowded buses. Everybody treated me as a senior. No criminals, no danger, everything just fine

It is quite nice. The staff was quick to help me. The rooms were well up to high standards With this hotel there is no worry about safety.

This way my first trip to Bogota, Colombia. The hotel staff provided great service and was extremely helpful. The location is centrally located and easy to get to many locations. There is a mall within a short walking distance with anything you way need or forgotten.

this was my second stay there , no hassles at all there

The service was excellent. Great location. Nice rooms. Overall, an excellent experience.

In Bogotá was the best you could have very nice hotel the people were very nice you could not ask for a better hotel. It would have been better if you could travel a little more safe. The only thing I did not like about Columbia is that you always had to watch over your shoulder. But that is not the hotel's fault. The hotel could not be any safer than it was.
