Nice hotel and good service... Visited here couple of times... 2014 and 2015... Pool area could be little bit bigger and pool was also little bit "old fashion", but personnel were so nice and helpful during all my two weeks trip.
My friend and I arrived in the gumbet after a long flight and transfer we were originally meant to be staying in Paloma apartments (which looked lovely admittedly) to be told the hotel was fully booked when we had booked our hotel in april..and that we were to be sent to either bitez or Paloma hotel...being 22 and 25 bitez was to quiet so we had no choice but to take the hotel...as we got their they had given us a room so small we could barely move in it the main light didn't work we couldn't open the fridge where the bed was so close to it and there was no running water and just one plug socket so it was either have the small lamp on or be in darkness so we couldn't use any of our electricals.we addressed this to the receptionist who laughed in our face and just frowned at us with the worst attitude id seen we asked to see the manager she just stuck her thumb up at me and had me waiting over 45 minutes in the reception with. it took a whole day to finally get moved room which admittedly was a lot better and the manager went out his way to fullfill our needs. during the stay the hotel was so filthy the staff were young rude boys that played volley ball around the pool all day hitting everyone with the ball and making it so uncomfortable that no one sat round it played there music really loud and walked around like they were on holiday. the food was absolutely disgusting im sure the local Syrians would of turned there nose up at it...they put cerial out once and week and left it to go soggy until the following week and when addressed about it they just laughed. The hotel needs a good clean up and re staffing ...but would like to thank the manager Mehmet for going all out to making our trip and needs to the best it could and offered us a discount next time we come couldn't fault him in anyway...just a shame his staff arnt the same. total waste of money DO NOT STAY.
Paloma hotel is a very nice small hotel. The centre of Gümbet is very close but the night life doesn't bother you. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool area is small bit very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is simple Turkish breakfast but for me it was OK.
the main hotel was mainly couples people with younger families were mainly based st the sister hotel very close by. This made the Paloma a lovely quiet area around the pool and bar with no loud music ideal for lounging about and reading by the pool and recharging the batteries
Just returned from a two week stay at this hotel and I can honestly say we had a brilliant time the rooms are small but spotless, our room was cleaned and had fresh towels and bedding every day. The pool area is a bit small and not really suitable for non swimmers as even the shallow end is a bit on the deep side. We only went down for breakfast twice during our stay but it was OK just the normal Turkish breakfast . The staff are wonderful really pleasant, helpful and friendly one of them went above the call of duty when our transfer didn't turn up taking the time to make several phone calls to the company to try and sort it out for us, he even helped to take our cases down to another hotel and arranged for us to get a transfer from there so we didnt miss our flight so great big thank you for that :-)
The hotel is situated in the centrum of Gumbet and near the wonderful beach. . You can stop dolmusbus in the front the hotel if you want to go to the city of Bodrum. The hotel itself is nice and very clean but not necessarily suitable for the people who have disabilities in their moving because there is lot of stairs. The staff is very nice and helpful always. Breakfast is good and dinner is excellent. Thanks to Haydar from the kitchen. We spent two weeks there in July and everything was just perfect. Thanks to whole personnel. Excellent value for your money!
I normally dont wanna right really bad reviews but this hotel sucks! Small pool, nothing to do at the hotel and bad food. The staff isnt very friendly either so I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. Our AC was bloken so it sprayed water over our beds the first 10 days (!) and though we complained every day they didnt fix it properly until my wife went out to the reception night number 10 and layed down on a sofe and sayed that she wouldnt move until they had the AC repaired... The view we had was over a dumpsite where homeless people used drugs during night, and Your couldnt go to sleep before killing atleast 5 cockroaches per night. One day we went to the sister-hotel, Paloma Beach Apartments, and that looked like heaven on earth! We promised ourselfes that we are coming back to Gumbet as its a great place but never ever to Paloma hotell but Paloma Beach Apartments, aka paradise!!!
Small rooms. AC is defenitely needed at a cost of additional 5 EUR/day. Safety box is 2 EUR/day. Low quality of breakfast dinner, not a lot to choose from and same everyday. Unfirendly staff- they don't know anything about the area, they don't wanna answer questions they just wanna sell. This is a hotel where you are not allowed to bring food/drinks from outside and if you dont spend at the hotel they will not be friendly. Not close to the beach and you the hotel is located oa hill so you will have to "climb" up and down whenever you go to the beach. Close to restaurants and pubs though.
Booked the hotel on a charterflight with Spies-rejser (DK) At the pool is a bar and the loudspeaker on the bardisk is facing the poolarea. The hotel is scaring all the guest to the beach by playing loud music all day.(10 -17) This loud music is not according to the hotels own website describtion. Forget to read a book and relax at the pool.
Stayed in this hotel in July and have nothing bad to say. Excellent location 5 mins one way from top of strip 5 mins other way bottom of strip, 10 mins walk to beach. Rooms small but for two people fine, excellent shower always plenty of hot water. We were at back of hotel really quiet but be prepared for mozzies lots of greenery and we had a cat with three kittens lovely to sit on balcony and watch them play. Maid was excellent cleaned room every day with fresh towels and plenty of toilet rolls. We took our own kettle and cups and every day she washed them up even when I told her not to, lovely woman she even tidyed our shoes up and put them into pairs. Air con and safety deposit box extra but you really do need them. Bar staff and reception staff really nice and always cheerful. All in all had a brillant stay and would not hesitate to go back again. Karen
