Fine hotel, good rooms, great shower with good pressure, great breakfast, nice view of the harbour. Very close to 5/5. Only downside is not being able to park in front of the hotel, which means paid parking fee blocks away. The hotel Does have a parking garage or an arrangement with one, but does charge for that, which in my opinion should be included. On 2 occasions we had a nice small fold up bed extra for our daughter which fitted in the room nicely. The 3th night we had a big fold up extra bed which wasnt folded down yet and didn't fit in the room properly. That could be improved. Conclusion: 4/5.
Another hotel we spent a night in on our roadtrip up north. My first impression was not great as the hotel did not have enough free parking for it's guests. We did find paid street parking though. Let's go through the good stuff first... Location of the hotel is really nice, right on the waterfront overlooking the wharf with lots of boats bobbing around. We got upgraded, and ended up in a big room with a beautiful view of the wharf, large bathroom and a coffemaker. The room also had a nice feel to it. I am hugely opposed to carpeted hotelroom floors, so the wooden ones in this hotel were highly appreciated. Room was nice, modern, bright and clean, air felt clean and the interior is simplisticly Scandinavian but pleasant. Breakfast buffet is big and leaves little to be desired. So on to the minuses... The hotel does not have a restaurant for dinner etc, which is ok, as I guess Bodo has a lot to offer outside, but they have a Egon restaurant (chain restaurant) on the ground floor. The atmosphere at these restaurants is quite good, but the food there is well under par. The staff has a strange attitude. They are neither nice nor not nice. When the original room we were given turned out to not have been cleaned (We discovered this when we walked in), there were no apologies or anything, just a new key to a bigger room. And we barely got any "welcome" or "goodbye". I found it all a but strange. All in all the room we got, as well as the breakfast, was good enough that I will recommend this hotel.
The hotel has a nice and good location by the harbor with great view. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic, good varaiation, a lot to choose from, welcoming with the little extra. Gentle and pleasant staff, good service. We can highly recommend this hotel..
Fantastic location just in front of the Molobukta harbour and close distance to the “Royal Bowling & Biljard”, but desperately need a more separate bar area e.g. combine part of the lobby with the front of the restaurant. While we were trying to enjoy our drinks in the bar/lobby area a bus-load of travellers arrived. We asked if we could move to the restaurant area next door, which was mostly empty except for specific tables set for the bus group that had just arrived, but were denied. Excellent breakfast and very clean and well organised rooms.
Stopped in this hotel on the way to the Norwegian Scout National camp outside Bodo. very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room and the amenities provided. it was clean, very comfortable, excellent location by the harbour and convenient for the airport. The breakfast was SUPERB! Everything you could wish for in very pleasant surroundings at a sensible price. Can't recommend it enough.
The receptionist was very friendly, helpfull and efficient. We stayed in room 212 which was a very comfortable and clean room. On the Sundaymorning we experienced the breakfastbuffet as a real treat. Great variety of delicious food. We can highly recommend this hotel.
Great location (walking distance from the airport!) and yes, we also got a room with a view over the harbor. Nice touch with the northern lights on the wall... Breakfast alone is worth the visit. Friendly staff.
I asked for sunshine and midnight sun when I booked, and I got both! The hotel is on the seaside, I had a room with a view to the harbor and the north, so I could follow the sun until morning has broken.
We arrived after midnight from the airport having decided it was too late to open up our boat. It was raining, chilly, although still light. We were fitted in and made welcome. An excellent breakfast the next morning (with no music). We started to sort out some bits on the boat (which we could see from the hotel) and it was still raining. Not much, but enough for us to book in for another night. Free Nespresso coffee in the lobby, or tea or hot chocolate always helps. We ended up staying four nights. We ate in the restaurant three times - not bad. Good creamy fish soup. And the third night we discovered the pizza buffet - very good value at 110kr. Tonight it's back to sleeping bags on the boat.
We have been staying at this hotel several times before, and was pleasantly surprised to find the rooms refurbished and looking very smart. I loved the Northern Light-touch to the room. Small rooms, but we were not here to sit along in the room anyway. Very good bed, two pillows so easy to adjust to own preferences. Ironing board and an iron in the room which is perfect. The bathroom was very good. Also a proper minibar and tea and coffee making facilities. Of course the view from the room depends on where your room is located. We were towards one of the side streets, but it was quiet and that is excellent. The staff was very friendly and when we said we would not be there for breakfast, we were asked if we would like breakfast to take away in the morning which was a very nice gesture. The breakfast to take away turned out to be two small slices of bread, one with ham and one with cheese, an apple and a small bottle of apple juice. But at least it was very tasty and it was also possible to help oneself to tea or coffee in the reception upon leaving. What took us a bit by surprise, was the fact that a busload of tourists were leaving the hotel at the same time, this caused a bit of a hassle as we hadn't really calculated extra time to wait for the lifts full of suitcases and tourists and to wait for our breakfast bag to be given us while the poor guy was trying to give other bags to the busload. So if you are heading for the early ferry to Lofoten, it might be a good idea to check with the staff if they have busloads leaving early in the morning as well, so that you are able to give yourself that extra time in the morning!
