Very helpful friendly staff. Very charming old world. Close to the station and all the shops and restaurants. We wished we had more time to stay and enjoy the facilities. Winter might be nice by the fire reading a book.

This guesthouse is well located opposite the train station. The local bus to Echo Point (three sisters) is just up around the corner. Also: The buffet breakfast was excellent for such a small establishment with a selection of hot and cold food. Staff were friendly and provided good service. A big thanks to the kitchen staff that made us a simple breakfast to take on the train on the last morning as we were leaving too early for the buffet ! All in all - if you rate quaintness over lavishness and want a friendly place to stay near the transport and eateries, this is a great choice.

Went with a friend to this guesthiuse to get away from the supercars at home. I had a deal for my stay and I loved this guesthouse . It is very close to the main st and walking distance to echo point. For 2 singles our orig room with a pullout bed was a little small. So we upgraded for minimum cost and no problem with the staff. There is a little old lift which works but is slow, and beautiful old style sitting and reading rooms. Our bedroom was airy and light and comfortable. The breakfasts were great and filling and we loved the muffins. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and the staff were helpful. Would recommend this guesthouse.

We arrived by train and the hotel is just on the other side of the street - perfect! The check in was nice and quick, really friendly and helpful staff. The room was pretty large and clean. Of course a little bit old fashioned but just as expected ;). The only bad thing was that it didn't have air con and it was pretty hot in there. Except for that I would certainly recommend the hotel for visiting the blue mountains. Wifi worked fine as did the shower. You could even buy discounted tickets.

We knew within minutes of arriving that we had picked a great place to stay in Katoomba. We arrived hours too early to check in but the friendly, chatty lass at reception welcomed us and agreed to look after our luggage while we went out to explore. The location is perfect, opposite the station and tour agents and right around the corner from the main drag. The guesthouse itself retains period features where practical, the internal courtyard is marvellous and is a cool haven, but the rooms have modern standards of comfort and a lift has been retro-fitted. Our room, overlooking the park, had a delightfully comfortable bed, a spacious en suite with good-sized shower and a sofa. The linen was top quality and everything was spotlessly clean. Yes there is noise from trains and road traffic which we didn't mind but you can request a room on the other side if this would bother you. In midsummer, the sun can overheat the room so it is a good idea to leave the curtains closed in the daytime. As Scots, we were feeling the heat in spite of the good ceiling fan. We requested an extra fan and it appeared in our room before we got back upstairs. Perfect! We did choose to have breakfast on the first day. It was fine even if the bacon was leathery :-o. Lots of bread and topping options. The breakfast room is period but it did seem a bit oppressive as it was quiet when we were there. Perhaps the atmosphere would be better if the room were subdivided or had fewer set tables at quiet times. However, these are minor points which were outweighed by all the positives. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this guesthouse to anyone who appreciates period style and can accommodate little quirks. We loved it here and will return. Thanks to the staff for friendly, helpful service.

Located in the heart of Katoomba - you can walk to anything you need. The common areas of the hotel make you feel like you are stepping into a different era. Very pleasant staff on the front desk and good internet connection.

Easy to get to and pleasant reception staff. (it's important to start a review with the positives). Room small but okay size. No air con but there is an overhead fan and all the usuals: free wifi, tea/coffee, minibar. (see I'm still being positive) Bathroom is large and has lots of natural light, although an awkward layout. (some moderating factors creeping into review). Cleanliness gets a B+. (it's still a green light at this point). But The Bed A mattress that should have been disposed of a number of years ago. Hard and lumpy. Not conducive to a pleasant sleep.

I stayed here with my son for an evening on 16th December and really enjoyed it. Service and communication is very good, the location is great with everything you need on the doorstep and the rooms are comfortable and clean. I will certainly be returning.

The convenient location was wonderful and our room was pleasant and well prepared. An abundance of power points available, not often so thoughtfully provided. Loved the period décor and furnishings! The breezy comfort of the lounges was very appealing. All staff members were pleasant, courteous and friendly. Breakfast was leisurely and generous. Can't speak too highly of this great place!

This old guesthouse with plenty of history in its life is full of character with comfortable beds in spacious rooms and a very old fashioned lift that works but is very slow but fun. The breakfasts are buffet style and plenty of choice. A great place to relax in the edge of the main street very near the railway station. There is off street parking out the back. Staff were very friendly and helpful suggesting places to visit and a brief history of the area.
