Yes room adequate staff often pre- occupied meal times (dining room) , had to attract attention to be attended to sometimes. Did not find bar area welcoming if anything rather cramped.

The only thing about our stay that was good was the parking and the young gentle man on reception didn’t get his name, checked into our room and at first glance was awfull but we had to rush out so we left our bags and off we went. When later returned to the room and actually looked at it what a disgrace! I work in a 3* hotel myself to I know that to expect. There was hairs on the sheets, dust on carpet, main door was hanging off had cracks in it, bath had crack in it toilet was disgusting, that’s is just a few of the problems in the room. When speaking to reception the young man apologised and changed our room immediately. Don’t get me wrong the room decor itself was much better after the first room which was like walking into something from the 1980s, but on the other hand the radiator wasn’t working (we did get a heater) and it wasn’t much cleaner the skirting boards had food all splashed on them which was 100% noticeably to any human let alone a cleaner(housekeeper) and again was really dusty. The breakfast staff was so miserable they seemed like they didn’t want to be there and that we was an effort to them, we wanted to feel welcomed which we didn’t as was shoved in the back room near the window where is was freezing, I can only imagine this was because we had our young daughter with us. I could go on and on overall horrendous stay and would definitely not return and recommend!

Quite a wait to anyone to come even to ask if tea or coffee needed. Rooms were cluttered and no radiators working and no hot water,shower just trickled water out. Was shocked when asked to pay a deposit for room damage,no were did it say this,also 10.00per night to park outrageous when using the hotel,spaces far too small for bigger cars.breakfast was lovely just a bit slow getting to you even for a cuppa,15mins we waited before even asked if tea or coffee was needed

The staff were lovely. Friendly and helpful. Our room should not have been let to a couple or a single person weighing over 90kg. The room made us feel like Harry Potter it was so small. The one stool at the dressing table is too large to pull out and sit on. So, there is nowhere to sit except the bed!! The bathroom is badly planned meaning the toilet is slotted in a space so small anyone over 90kg would struggle to sit on it ( let alone use it for a poo). We came home after three days feeling the onset of IBS. Unfortunately the bathroom had been used for a poo behind the door by a mouse! This was not noticed by the cleaner for the three days we were there. The car park has a worn and uneven surface and the right hand step up to the front door is too high. The corridor to room 203A has a step down that is too precarious for two people to use together and the floor makes you feel like a drunken sailor as you walk down. We enjoyed our quiet evenings in the bar.

On arrival reception really friendly, the room we were in was very spacious but was really needing some TLC curtains hanging off rail drawers falling apart had to ask for another kettle as one in the room was all tarnished inside overall room was not as advertised.Entertainment was excellent Dinning room staff were very friendly and helpful. But unfortunately room not what we expected for the price we paid.

The room was clean and warm, and looked like it may have been refurbished in the last year or so. It was ideal for our weekend break. The only downside were that the floors on level 1 could be quite spongy and uneven, and that the bathroom could have done with a shelf to put toiletries on. Neither of them were a showstopper, and we had a great time.
