I'm very surprised that Gracelands has an overall Hotels.com rating of 9 (I can only guess that the reviews were from guests who were in an en-suite and/or had a plentiful supply of toiletries in their room. For some reason my four night booking (single room, not en-suite) came as a surprise to staff when I turned up on the doorstep (I had to wait half an hour to occupy my room which I was understanding about). The room was basic but comfortable, although the window could not be closed. The breakfast was fine. Both of the staff members I met were pleasant people. The two shared toilets were not very clean, and neither hd a hand basin which was off-putting/unhygienic. I had to ask for some soap for the hand basin in my room on arrival. What I never got despite raising the matter was toiletries to use in the shower (thank God for that mini bar of soap!). It is very rare for me to leave a negative review (possibly never) but as a paying guest staying for four nights I expect at least the basics to be satisfied. It's not pleasant visiting the shared toilet to do a 'you know what', not being able to wash your hands as you then venture down the corridor to jump in the shower to get the 'undercarriage' etc. clean to discover there's nothing available but water! I won't be returning.

The hotel was very scruffy needs a good painting very very tired two shared toilet on landing one toilet didn't flush, no wash hand basin in toilet, beds were very comfortable sink in bedroom not nice. breakfast was really nice. A very nice stay The property is only a few minutes walk from the beach and town centre It offers free car parking but is also easy to reach by public transport My bedroom was quite comfortable and included a TV and kettle A great breakfast was provided The Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable Very good value for money

Certainly not a palace. A good place however to put my head down and recuperate after the company Christmas party. My bed was OK but I’m 5ft10 and taller people may find the bed too small. The bathrooms are shared. For hygiene reasons, I’d prefer if there was a sink in the toilets as well. The shower was OK. The TV is very high up and not angled so unless you stand, the image is very bad. But something is great: the staff running the hotel, and the lovely breakfast they serve you. I would happily return.

Very friendly welcome. Everything explained and breakfast items arranged on arrival. Enjoyable breakfast with lots of options, and nice coffee. Very comfy, clean bed. I had room without en-suite, but I did have wash basin and soap provided. Shared shower and bathroom. Shower had nice hot water. Tea/Coffee/Kettle in room. Bedroom warm so I could leave window open. Seagulls were quiet too, so that was a bonus :) Just 7 minutes walk to Tower for me, 58 with bad back.

One of best I've found in Blackpool

This guest house is extremely comfortable and the staff are all very friendly and welcoming, the breakfast is delicious and each guest has their food cooked to order. The rooms are very spacious, and very well soundproofed, i didn't hear a thing from adjoining rooms. Each room has controllable central heating, a large remote controlled tv, sink with hot running water and kettle with tea/coffee making materials. The room is not ensuite, but the individual toilets and shower rooms are just opposite the bedrooms. The shower was clean with perfect temperature water. I seriously cant fault this guest house, it even has plenty of free parking for guests. Similar hotels and guest houses in the area are more than double the price of this one, i really glad i found this little gem, ill definitely be returning.

Supplies of milk in room not replenished once during whole trip and bin not emptied once during whole trip (4 days). Breakfast was great but host said they would get me wholemeal bread for toast after 2nd day but got white bread for next 2 days. Expected en suite but had to leave room to use toilet( not ideal due to diabetes and regular WC visits) Room needs a chair rather than having to sit on bed. Didnt want to bother host about minor gripes above, but expected better compared to stays at other hotels. Didnt spoil weekend but could have been better.
