Exceptionally beautiful country house and garden.
Across 2 weeks, 3 generations of 2 families and a few friends spent a most enjoyable time at Le Vieux Logis, Birac sur Trec. The house is old but has been very beautifully re-furbished and the many large rooms are amazingly and most generously furnished. We lacked for nothing in living rooms, bedrooms, kitchen/dining and utility areas. The large swimming pool was securely enclosed and surrounded by beautiful tropical planting and the garden is very extensive and has many varied areas with both sun and shade for people of all ages to relax, explore or play in.
For entertainment and shopping there were many pleasant towns and villages in the Garonne and Lot valleys to visit and we had very jolly evenings at gourmet night markets in both Gontaud and Eymet.
The whole holiday was a great success though minor quibbles might be that the village bar did not also operate as a café and kept very limited and erratic opening hours. We also lacked access to the property manager at times when we did need a bit of help because she was clearly struggling with other properties for which she has responsibility. It was still a great holiday place for a large group of people and we might well book again.
