Stayed in the Binna Burra Skylodges in 2 bedroom. Stunning views...loved going to sleep with views of the stars and waking up to panoramic views of this world heritage area. Don't want to leave. Well appointed and fully self contained, including bbq on balcony. Spa bath also has views! Brilliant options for #bushwalkers. Kids loved flying fox, night spotlighting and cookies at afternoon tea.
Food was great, very clean skylodge appartment. Enjoyed my personal spa bath. The walk from skylodge to the restaurant at the top is a very steep walk for an unfit person, we took the road the long way round several times as my asthma flared up on many walks. Without electricity for 12+ hours on last day!, back to nature for sure, lucky I took candles. Good activities every day. Met people at lunch and dinners sharing tables with people. Very romantic for the couples. My score 9/10. Reasonably expensive, do the three nights minimum. Camping and huts available.
The setting is superb...in Lamington National Park amongst the rainforest. If you love to walk then this is the place for you. Miles of tracks of different grades within the National Park throughout the beautiful rainforest.. On our walks we encountered pademelons, a snake, lizards, lots of different birds, spiders, numerous types of fungus, and some magnificent trees, and of course the views are spectacular. The Lodge offered guided walks in the morning and afternoons, and a campfire on Friday night. There's no TV but lots of games and puzzles available to use plus a good selection of books in the library. Our room was small but comfortable and clean, and had a nice verandah overlooking the rainforest. The bathroom was tired.....tap was loose, shower screen was broken, door scraped on the floor tiles. Our bed was reasonably comfortable, and the sheets were fresh and clean. Tea making facilities were in our room and a small bar fridge. The room was serviced daily. Breakfast in the dining room was great....good selection of hot food, plus the usual cereals, toast, fruit etc. A buffet dinner was available for $39 each but we didn't have it. We had morning and afternoon tea in the dining room and a cheese platter in the library in the evenings. The staff were outstanding - always happy to help with a smile.
We spent a few days staying in a safari tent. The location and overall facilities exceeded our expectation. The lodge is beautiful and has a lovely sense of history and feels like a special place in the clouds. The safari tents could be a little better presented / updated, but overall they provide shelter and are in a great location. We will be returning to do more walks as the national park is stunning.
My daughter recently held her wedding at Binna Burra. It was an outstanding weekend with many of the guests travelling from interstate as well as long distances within NSW and Queensland. To have family and friends meet over dinner and breakfast to catch up was wonderful. There are no superlatives to describe the lengths that the staff went to in order to make my daughter’s wedding an outstanding event with as little stress as possible. The Binna Burra staff and management displayed outstanding experience and professionalism. I would recommend this venue to anybody interested in making an event into an outstanding success.
Can’t speak highly enough of the staff at Binna Burra. We had planned our great hinterland walk, with Binna Burra as our half way point, and booked a safari tent. The first half of our trip didn’t go to plan with a severe storm and and injury or two... The staff went above and beyond to help us out that night (as we wanted to upgrade to a lodge room) and the next day to get to our car. The highlight was staying at the sky lodge villas. They are simply amazing. Beautiful views, warm and comfortable, with everything you need. Less touristy than OReillys, which we really liked. We can’t wait to come back to BinnaBurra and stay longer. Brilliant.
What an amazing part of the world Binna Burra is. Beautiful rainforest, stunning views, countless rainforest walks for all abilities from a couple of kilometres easy walking to the really tricky stuff for experienced bush walkers. Half hour loops to full day walking adventures. And then there is the wildlife. It is so special to see the wildlife in its natural habitat and Binna Burra has plenty to see. On our walks we say beautiful little Pademelons - they are so cute, bandicoots - also extremely cute, wallabies, lizards if different sizes, a wide variety of birds and of course the beautiful Koala. A truly beautiful place. We stayed in the Lodges and had our meals in the cliff top restaurant. As a Coeliac sufferer I am always worried about food - will I be able to get decent gluten free meals? No need to worry here. The menu is clearly marked and most of the dishes were gluten free including at least 3 choices of dessert. The soup starter was always gf. We got morning and afternoon tea included and there was always a gf option. The nearby tea house also had gf options. I was concerned about cross contamination but I never got an upset tummy once and we were here 4 days. I am an extremely sensitive Coeliac so am very happy to have no reaction at all (despite always eating a bit too much). Staff were always very friendly and helpful. Activities were always very enjoyable and informative and we especially enjoyed the Bush Dancing event and the torchlight walk where we saw a wide variety of the wildlife. A truly fantastic place to visit.
We enjoyed two nights at the lodge. The cabin accommodation is fitting for the environment and comfortable and had everything one needs here. You come here for the National Park walks, the birds and relaxation so although there are some more luxurious accommodations at the lodge, our cabin was quite ok. The views from the lodge are lovely (although our particular cabin had no far view). Staff are very friendly, helpful and the food at the lodge in the clifftop dining was always plentiful, tasty and satisfying. We had a special accommodation deal and for the price it was good value. The library at the lodge is a must see with lots of books to read and you can book them out to borrow to read while you are staying there. A lovely place to relax and enjoy nature.
I had the best time in a resort ever. nature and views are awesome. Staff lovely. Dinning excellent. Accommodation great. AAAAAA++++++. Hope to go back soon The package I had was a great value for money too.
We loved our stay in Cabin 41, it has a resident satin bower bird just off the deck, so if you love birdwatching it's fabulous. My husband and I found the cabin to be quiet and spacious and very comfortable. The view is of the surrounding bush, so no mountain views, but unique in its own right. The lodge accomodation is in keeping with the rustic vibe and this cabin was one of the earliest ones to be built. We prefer this to the newer more upmarket SkyLodges, but each to his own. We enjoyed the meals in the dining room and love the variety, quality and amount, both for breakfast and dinner. The chefs do an amazing job and there is always something different. Binna Burra Mountain Lodge has a very welcoming charm to it and we enjoy visiting a couple of times a year if we can. The rainforest walks and the grounds within the lodge are a good place to rejuvinate our stressful lives.
