We spent one night here on our tour of NW Spain. When we booked this was the only place available in Trip Advisor that could accommodate us. I love the idea of this hotel, green leadership and employment of people with disabilities (according to their literature, 40% of employees have a disability of some sort). The hotel itself was clean and nicely located. The staff were fine. However, the walls are really thin and it was quite loud, first from the very amorous couple in the room next to us and then from the very loud karaoke bar somewhere in the city center. In addition, the thermostat in our room did not work so it was hot and we couldn't even turn on the fan to provide some covering background noise. There were three in our party so having to buy two rooms at 220 euro per night was the nail in the coffin of this poor review. We won't be back.
As we arrived in Bilbao we were first worried this was a bad idea. Well were we ever wrong. We found the hotel right where the map said it was. This hotel is amazing. The are two elevators with one really small and the other is a normal size. The people at the desk treat you as if you are a relative coming to visit and you just want to relax and enjoy. There is a wonderful restaurant on the first floor but it's not included in the room price. Next door is a great tapas bar and there are several grocery stores nearby so you will not be wanting for anything. We mentioned we were planning a day trip to Segovia to see the aquaduct and the staff just bent over backwards with directions, train numbers and other helpful tidbits. This is a place that you will feel safe and at home when so far away from home. We will definitely stay here. Again I we visit Bilbao again. We could live here in Bilbao if we could make it work. The people are the best and so friendly. Bilbao is split in the middle by a river with ancient Bilbao in on side and the new modern Bilbao on the other. This hotel is close to the river so can have a nice romantic stroll or easily so both sides of Bilbao without tiring. Oh now I miss Bilbao.
This hotel is located close to the football stadium and the local buses station. Very useful if you planing a visit to Santander, Vitoria or any other nearby city. The cleaning service are really efficient and respectful. Rooms have generous size but the infrastructure needs a refresh. I was on the floor 12 and I could still listen to the people on the street. If the noise disturbs you easily, I wouldn't stay on the firsts floors. Also the wing would make this horrible sound through the windows. On the fridge only found 2 tiny bottles of water. Their breakfast is too expensive but average compared to other hotels around, it is so much cheaper and better to go to a local bar to have breakfast!! If you traveling to/from the airport a taxi is not needed because bus A3247 it's only 1,45€ and the stop its just 1 min away from the hotel.
I spent three nights here whilst helping my daughter move to the university. The hotel is well situated for access to both sides of the river. The price of the hotel was very reasonable given how luxurious its public areas are. The room was spacious. I am English so regretted not bringing my travel kettle ! There was a fridge and a hairdryer though and the wifi was great no buffering as I watched telly on my iPad.
We stayed in this hotel for two nights while we visited Bilbao. It is in a great location, especially for onward connections by bus and for ease of transport around the city during your stay. We walked everywhere however and the location was ideal for this. The room was very comfortable and clean, as were all parts of the hotel. We were warmly welcomed by Guillermo, who was very helpful and pleasant. The only extra I would suggest would be facilities for making tea or coffee in the room but this is a small concern. I would definitely return on another trip.
Came to watch Athletic Club VS Barcelona game, hotel was super close and walking distance, to stadium. Hotel was clean and tidy and rooms were a decent size. We did upgrade to a larger room though. Lovely little restaurant/bar right next door. Food at that restaurant was amazing.
The entrance hall promises a style which the rooms cannot keep , but that's OK . Unfortunately the noise-insolation is far from perfect, you're always aware of your neighbours as well as the aircondion-plant behind the hotel ! The fake plastic-wood floors might be easy to clean but are a guarantee to make noises. The service (as usual) depends on the single people , some (Pedro ?) friendly as a hungry Doberman and fast as a turtle (which is not abnormal there = I think, they simply don't know better since they haven't been ever in other places of the world ?). The (very expensive) breakfast on New Years morning promised till 11 o'clock found at 10.30 dirty tables and a empty buffet (Guillermo tried the best to excuse this and gave a a free breakfast for the next day). The price of 14€ each person for breakfast is ridiculous , for the same price you can have breakfast for four in one of the bars in front of the hotel. Attention: those like all other places are 100% closed from Saturday afternoon till Monday morning !The position of the hotel is fine, very near Bus Terminal, Subway, parks, museums etc.
Spent 2 nights here. Ideally situated for tourists on a budget. The room alright except for the bathroom, small bath with the waste plug situated exactly under one's backside, shower kept falling off its stand. wet rot at the base of the door, lavatory seat too low, access to bidet difficult. The bar staff had never heard of sherry! We taught them how to make a martini! Not enough lifts.Garage spaces too narrow. Breakfast basic & expensive.
I finally had a chance to stay overnight in this conveniently located hotel in Bilbao's central San Mames quarter near the stadium , the San Mames metro station , and Bilbao's bus station (7 min. walk from the hotel) . My room on the 7th floor was adequate in size , very clean , and well furnished . Overall I was very satisfied , I'd only suggest 3 improvements to the management : my shower didn't have enough water pressure , the in room safe needs a key available at the reception (I prefer safes with a digital combination lock) , and the fridge doesn't offer a real minibar service but just a couple of complimentary bottles of water . The flat Tv screen offered a good choice of Spanish and international channels, the wifi was stable and with good speed throughout my stay . The hotel has a bar and a restaurant which I didn't have the chance to use , there are many bar and restaurant options in the neighborhood. All the staff has been polite and helpful, definitely a good choice in Bilbao !
2nd time I have stayed here in 2months. Refurbished rooms are modern and clean and comfortable. Location is good for bus station, not far from centre and near "Pozas" for eating and drinking. Staff very nice and helful. Breakfast buffet good and open till late. Only complaint amd to the hotel management: only 1 receptionist on a weekend with some sort of conferences taking place. The poor guy was very good but clearly overwhelmed by such a large number of people checking in/out. They should have more people working.
