Located in Big Lake, Alaska, The Dogstead is a tranquil place situated on 160 acres of forested, private land. It is perfect for a weekend getaway, a great place to stop on your travels north towards Denali, or a great gathering spot for small parties and events. The yurts each sleep up to 5 comfortably, with two queen beds and a twin bed in each one. Guests can stay cozy during the winter with two sources of heat, including a woodstove for a true Alaska feel. 3 yurts and a large, modern cabin adorn the property. A bathhouse yurt with several full bathrooms as well as a free washer and dryer is accessible to all guests 24 hours a day. Each yurt has a mini fridge, microwave, and a mini kitchen including running water and all necessities (coffee pot, hot water pot, cooking burners, pots and pans, utensils, dishes, running water, etc). Each yurt also has a private bathroom with a toilet, as well as an outdoor fire pit and picnic table.
Whether you’re relaxing inside or exploring nearby, this unique property provides a fantastic base for your adventures. In the winter, the northern lights can be viewed from your yurt deck, while sitting by the firepit, or right through the dome roof above your bed! They put on a fabulous display all Fall, Winter and Spring, During the summer months the property has walking trails and a peaceful creek for floating or fishing!
