It was convenient to the train station, had nice, clean rooms and it was great to be able to arrive as early as 2pm! It was quite expensive compared to the value and I would have appreciated if the reception was open to giving me a late check out of one hour, but they were not willing to entertain it. It served our purpose well though, so I am happy.

We arrived late and picked up our keys for the room from the front desk. There was no hotel staff at that time. We went to the room and found out that the key card reader was missing. So we couldn't get into the room. We called the emergency number and the person at the other end said that he was in Zurich and couldn't help us. He said he doesn't know anything about how to contact the hotel people. We were desperate. By then it was midnight. We finally managed to find a room at Hotel Merkur in Biel. They have staff at the hotel 24 hours a day. It was a very good hotel and the same price as the City Hotel Biel. We have never seen such a terrible hotel as this City Hotel Biel. They do not care about you and they can leave you stranded.

A great find in Biel!

City Hotel is conveniently located near the train station and offers true single rooms, so you're not paying for space you don't need. The breakfast was good, and the front desk staff was extremely helpful. They let us keep our bags at the desk until check-in, recommended great nearby restaurants and gave useful information about the spa across the street.
