Good as always
Very nice, good food and atmosphere. Easy to reach with a 4x4. Been twice and would go again. All tents are upgraded to ones with en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning.

Not covid secure
Camp was busy on the day we came as a public holiday. The hotel didn't give us directions thou I asked three time (email, call, whatsapp). Pin location on hotels.com lead 40 km away from the camp. When we arrive we were surprised by the lack of covi 19 measures. No temperature was taken and little sanitizer available. At dinner there we many guests and no sanitizer. Breakfast was better and the room was nice but service from the staff was lacking. When I mentioned lack of covid measures they weren't interested, found it strange and said the hotel is too busy to take temperatures. This is now standard practice in all public places across Oman its concerning 1000 nights is not aware.

Right in the middle of Wahibi Desert
We stayed one night, in the basic tents with put up beds (but they were comfy and clean with warm blankets). Toilet block was nearby and clean. To reach the tents felt like going through an airplane, past the first class accommodation, past business class accommodation to the economy! That said there was therefore less light pollution and the view of the night sky was fantastic. The buffet was good quality and the dining area had a lovely atmosphere with choice of table and chairs or a more traditional Arabian style seating on cushions and low tables. Running up and down the dunes was fun and the sunset view wonderful. Be warned though were were not alone at the top of the dunes - there are lots of tour groups doing the same thing. The do have camels you can ride for 5 or 10 minutes, expensive and a bit cheesy but an experience unlikely to be repeated!
